Re: Matchmaking in Rec is awful.
I don't get smashed, lol. I hold my own until my matchup decides he wants to dance between 1-2 bigs for the entire game. I so hate that...if you're good, then beat me without screens and shooting as soon as you see me get trapped in the suction animation.
Which is why I got my account banned for two weeks, lol. I played a game where the bigs were constantly screening for my matchup, then he got full of himself and "tried" to go at me straight up. Got two steals and made him pick up the ball multiple times. From there, they right back to setting screens for him.
In my anger and without thinking, I sent the message "Do your bigs f*ck your girl too, since it takes no skills to watch someone do all the work for you?". Yup...email notification 30 seconds later, lol.
Maybe the PG can play the passing lane to stop my matchup from getting 2 points in the paint??Comment

Re: Matchmaking in Rec is awful.
I sent out 2 hate messages last night. Both times the 2 guard tried to ice me out by coming down for the ball every inbound since i was the 1. I wouldn't care if dudes were decent. If they were hitting all their shots i would have been fine just working on my defensive badges. But their center and PF buddies kept inbounding them the ball and they'd either get a turn over or brick. The first game i had 6 assists to the other players, the bigs too in the first quarter and a half. It was only until ****boy realized he wasn't getting the ball because he was never open. Why you may ask was he never open? He had a CPU on him before the game started. When this happens to me offball I'll typically just space and hope i get the ball on the break. But noooooo he would go down and launch right in the AI's mouth or drive into heavy traffic. Now that I'm playing PG more I've softened my stance on bigs crowding the paint. It's infuriating offball as I'm strictly catch and shoot for the whole game, which isn't my strong suit. But when I'm the 1 I'll dump down instead of driving to see if they'll give me an easy assist. I try not to do it when both bigs are down there, but if i see one doing work I'll feed him. It totally means i can't score as I'm still working on my shot, but I'll take 4-5 easy assists cuz i need those playmaking badges.
But i swear, the second time that happened last night it only took 3 possessions of them doing it from tip and i was holding my nuts on the 3 point line and not even guarding my man. I sent him a message telling him to make a PG if he wants the ball all game.
Worst part is both dudes ended with like 3 makes on 16 attempts. They were like clones of each other.
I'm actually getting wary of these "shooters" under 92 because they don't have all their badges. Even with HOF dimer they lay brick after brick wide open. I wanna scream at them to turn their meters off and just watch the jumper. I've had 60-something jumpers all year with limited badges and i can green cuz my meter is off. I'm only shooting around 40% all year in Rec but that's actually pretty high for me. Most years I've been low 30s cuz I've never played a "sharp" and i refuse to. It's nice i get SOME kind of jumper on my slasher builds this year.
I think a big mistake a lot of players make is only passing when someone gets open. I'm a post 7'1 scorer, I can't get open, but I can create.
Instead of waiting for open looks pass the ball and let someone else try to create. If I can't create within 4 seconds I pass the ball and let someone else try to createComment

Re: Matchmaking in Rec is awful.
Can I just say Paint Cloggers who clog 100% of the time are the worst. Had to deal with dumb PF last night on my team. I can deal with almost any other kind of random, but the guy who just sits in the paint..... Dudes just sitting there. The entire game, 100% of the time. Just sitting there. Acting like he's Shaq, expecting the ball every time, expecting like he should take 40 FGS, even though he's shooting 30% as a big with his triple teamed post shot or pump fake every single time. Or how the entire team sets up a perfect play, only for him to be in the finisher's path, staring at him like "what? you need me to move?" Tbh I think they do it on purpose so that they can try to get the the team to miss shots and try to get O rebs. I've messaged many of 'em saying 'spread out', and they say "I'm a big" or "I'm a slasher". Great, that doesn't mean you stay in one spot 100% of the time in everyone's way, or can't be moving off ball, setting a pick, trying to space the floor, cutting at the right time, setting others up with a pass, etc. Even Shaq didn't camp this much. Then these bums will message you after and say, "I had to carry". Yeah with your 12 points on 6 of 25 shooting. GjComment

Just poor basketball IQ.
The game is filled with these types of people.
Especially 92 overall and under.

Re: Matchmaking in Rec is awful.
Is it me or is this the year folks just fed up with 5 man squads in rec? Like they always been in there from years back but it seem like I seen the most complaints this year.

Re: Matchmaking in Rec is awful.
Lmfaoooooo FINALLY someone knows my pain. I actually made another big last night. He's a 3 level scorer with defensive takeover. This way even if I'm the 4 SOMEONE is pulling a big out the paint. And actually i got rebound chaser Gold after one night playing on him. So i feel i can run the 5 decently. He's not my paint beast defensively, but if he's backing off me i get open looks. Then if he comes out, less rebounds for him. His teammates gotta do work.Comment

Re: Matchmaking in Rec is awful.
I was just talking to my brother last night about this mode. It's rough in the beginning, I will not lie you. Especially, if you grind all your stats and badges without buying VC. However, I promise you that the game does get so much more fun once you hit about a 80 overall.Comment

So when does it get better exactly ?Comment

Re: Matchmaking in Rec is awful.
Yeah eh......badges are the key ....
I’m a 5-7 pg scoring threat.
I got some advice in another thread to use base 98 jumpshot (because it was cheese and easy to use, I agree, it is. I don’t care, I’m newb at this point and will take any advantage I can get).
What badges are cheese/must haves ??
I read dimer is a must, got 2 badges for that, those are my Only two badges so far.
I have a shooting badge coming up, where should I go with first for that ? I don’t want to waste them like I have previous years....
remember cheese is fine with me ;-)Comment
