Badges are only in the game as a way to keep players “grinding”

2k hasn’t figured out yet that their ridiculous methods to increase longevity of their game is in fact more harming it

They're scared to run team pro am because its even cheeser in there.

This is what happens when you gift so many attributes thru badges and overalls to the point where once a player gets to 95+ it stops feeling like you're playing vs another individuals true skill. its their skill + 2k's hard mode. its literally that guy + super hall of fame. its rather silly and its not fun to be honest.

For example, If you have a super high basketball IQ, and lets say you have a team over average of 91 and you end up playing a team with so so basketball IQ, but their team overall is 96+. Unless you have a team full of defeners(the most op of them all), you will end up most likely losing the game. not due to your lack of skill and smarts. but due to the up hill battle of playing vs the person and 2k's algorithm. Its just too much to overcome. The only way you win that kind of matchup is if the 96+ team got their high ratings/badges playing 100% in mycareer and they just now decided to step into the rec or team pro am not having a clue. everyone else, you will take that L. This is why i say, the sweet spot to this game user v user is some where around the 85 to 90 overall rating. and I think intimidator badges shouldnt be higher than silver, no pogo stick at all (Since there is no counter badge). Interceptor on bronze at most. fix the range extender badge and make sure no one has it higher than bronze, no green machine, no corner specialist for guys that already have 3pt shots over 85 rated, it shouldnt be necessary you can already shoot. corner specialist in real life shoot well in that corner because they practice the crap out of that shot and only those shots because they are not good at the other 3 areas. You dont need to have reddick have corner specialist. he's money form everywhere anyway. Unpluckable shouldnt go beyond bronze (this stops guys from dribbling thru your body...but this means bump steals should be fouls 80% of the time.) no bail out badge at all. needle threader should only be equipped by guys with 90+ pass ratings and it should only go up to silver. .. take off handles for days. take off brick wall until that animation is fixed.

^^^that would be a for a more realistic user vs user in the rec or in team pro am or in the actual 2k league. if you want to see who has the highest bball IQ and has the best strategy. but as it currently stands with 96+ guys badged up like crazy. the game is not basketball anymore.

overall says nothing about what individual ratings a person has and to what degree their badges are.

you can be an 80 overall and have HOF Intimidator with paint defense maxed out.

also badges are pretty much here to stay.
odds are we will see more badges next 2K with all the crap that comes with it....

I'd actually be all for them making myplayer mode entirely badge based (along with maybe physical attributes based on your archetype and body type/size). It's the blend of the two systems which makes things messy and confusing.

Badges in myleague and other modes should be limited to things that affect tenancies and special moves, rather than shooting/dribbling/defense ability.

The matchmaking hasn't been changed. If it was, 2k would've said something.

lol now why would they do that or better yet have done that? they dont even tell us when they tune the game via hot fixes.

True, but I highly dobut they changed anything. As much as saying something isn't their thing, for the most part, fixing something like that also isn't their thing.

I can confirm the change. When i play on my 83 OVR player it's 92 and under. When I'm on a 94+ its 93 and up. I've played about 30 Rec games since the change.

The punishment for quitting needs to be more severe.

Punishing ppl for quitting some of the rec games I’ve played would be a sick joke

Literally games where ppl will literally not play D, pass, or make any winning plays. I don’t think it’s ANYONES job to endure that so the other team can strike their egos by winning by 60 when they should be in the team pro am anyway since they are a squad

I used my 86 overall SG cause i was bored and i load in and see elites on 85 overall players


Like dude WTF. Just go to team pro am if you have a freaking team you run with every single day please

I basically created a new build to play under 95 since as you said its all squads. I only bust my maxed guys if I have a squad or pro am now because otherwise %85 its a loss.

That sounds about right. I'm always the lowest ranked player on the team.

I just don't understand why it's 92 tho. I wish it were 95+ and then under. If all my teammates were 95+ then they'll probably be more invested in the game as to not lose overall. Plus they'll most likely have all their badges. At 92 and down most players are not fully badged out and not invested in winning as much.

Just a real downer when it comes to this change.

You may have just gotten a squad looking for 1 more. You can usually tell right away as they won't pass to you the first 3 quarters. Lol

I don't think so but its possible. We ran into a squad and it turned into an utter meltdown in the first couple of minutes as my teammates turned it over 9 times in the 1st quarter.
