What update? A 2k patch? It's not a 2k problem.

Well its the only game I cant play online with. Have no problems playing hours on call of duty, gta and madden online.

I've contacted the store from where I bought my Series X and at first they laughed it off not believing this issue with only this one game (NBA 2K22). Then I provided the links to Xbox Support and many reddit threads. They recognize the issue but unless Xbox calls it a hardware issue, they won't replace my console.

I have to go through them because in my country there's no official Xbox support. This is so frustrating.

Login with the credentials you use when logging into your xbox console. Go to devices. If your Series X isn't listed then choose add device. Type in the serial number. Once the Series X is added click on "info & support" then on the next page click on "start order". Boom done.

EDIT: just saw the part about you being in a different country. So sending it to the US wouldn't be an option??

Exactly. We buy from stores that import them and we are at their mercy, basically. Neither Xbox nor Sony ship to here.

I am shipping mine back to Microsoft tomorrow. Just filled out the ticket on the My Devices Page. Got so impatient. I have waited 3 weeks tomorrow, and there is no fix in sight. Xbox Support and 2k Support are not helping, and 2k Support is the WORST!

@2kSupport said they couldn't help me and said it was on Microsoft. I responded to them, and wanted my ticket escalated. They never responded to me. 9 days later, they closed my ticket cause it had been 7 days since I responded. Remember, I responded to them 9 days ago, AND THEY NEVER RESPONDED TO ME and then closed my ticket. I opened the ticket back up, and their twitter account said they have no timetable for a fix. So I asked, "Why do your support tickets have a limited time?"

Only Xbox I have ever owned! I bought it for Gamepass and to play NBA2k22 with my friends. NBA2k22 is the only game I have purchased, at all, for my Series X. My console is 2 months old, I have never finished a single online game with my friends in the 3 weeks since launch. My system has shut off over 50 times at least in the last 3 weeks. This has got to be horrible for the console. There is a shutdown process for a reason.

Bro you made this wayyyy too difficult. You didn't have to do all that tweeting and support ticket crap. This is all you have to do......

Yeah it sucks man, my case isn't nearly as bad as yours but it still shut off on me twice this evening and both times in the middle of online games I was in the processing of winning. It is unbelievably frustrating. I think I am going to send mine back as well. My warranty isn't over until April so I might wait until season 1 is over.

again reporting...

my old xsx... shutoff every 1-2 games on an indoor court (any online mode). and often just being in the city alone walking around would cause it.


my new replaced xsx they sent me yesterday... not 1 shutoff at all. have been grinding any mode i want ALLLLL day today. my old "broken" xsx would have shutoff maybe 15-20x today alone.


so, i feel my issue is fixed.

Made in June 2021? That's practically fresh. No wonder some people receive back another console with the same issue. It's so hard to diagnose and it doesn't seem to be a "specific bad batch". Mine is from March 2021 also with the same problem.

And this is so weird. I can play MyCareer NBA all day long with a court packed full and not a beep. But as soon as I enter Old Gym, a 3v3 court, no spectators my box turns off. I can play any other game all week with no issues neither. This is so weird.

It's really weird yes. In my case it only power offs when I play a 12 mins quarter MiNBA online game... In the rest of the game use to work without any issue...

I'm still on the fence with sending it back. I checked with Best Buy, and they told me that my replacement plan will cover the new console if I have to replace it due to a warranty issue. I just have to call them with the new serial number.

It's frustrating, because now I got used to the current gen gameplay when it comes to Play Now Online and MyTeam Unlimited. Honestly, I kind of favor the current gen for head-to-head action (less defensive sliding, better OTF menu), and I favor the next gen for everything else. Plus, I really hate to send in my console because ONE game in my digital library doesn't want to act right.

It would be such an easy decision if multiple games that I played crashed my console.

got the replaced one monday. it's now thursday. not 1 single shut off. not 1.

before i was shutting off on nba2k22 and madden22, daily. a lot. never could ever finish not 1 game in the city. and even just walking around in the city was causing it to shutoff sometimes.

my new console manufactured date says august 2021. the broken one i returned had a july 2020 manufacture dated.
