I wanted to run with Ja and the Grizzlies but surprisingly I've enjoyed my time in D.C.

HOF Difficulty and playing normally (not standing away from my matchup to try and bait layup/dunk attempts to get blocks.) I can't understand why they kept going to the Embiid post up against me

I never played MyCareer without being on HOF but the box scores of your teammates is a reason superstar maybe the best difficulty this year. On HOF, the game is too much like last years and your teammates can barely make ANY open shots. I can get Middleton or anyone wide open threes all game and you’d be lucky for them to make 2 of them.

Your CPU teammates already aren’t smart/good enough to score with how good defense is this year. So, I at least be wanting them to hit open jumpers. I hate having to score all the points or do pick and rolls all game.

Okay, this part is getting to me. Does anyone know how to change the play type for your player?

I'm a 6'0 point guard and the plays I have for me are handoffs, iso and 3pt. I would love to trade iso for Pick and roll, but can't figure out how to change the play types.

Anyone know how to change what's assigned to you? I know how to edit the playbook, that's not my issue. It's the play calls that are, and I don't want to be smashing the shoulder buttons, I like letting coach call the plays.

As I gained the badges and improve my player...moved the difficulties and in HOF you're right...most of my teammates are I am playing for NETS....Duran and Irving are "normal" and Harden is injured for 6 mos.

Any tips? If I play in SS, for MP its becoming easy.... so what do i need to adjust in the MyC setting? Thanks

You cannot adjust sliders or anything so you have to simply choose between HOF or Superstar. I am going to stick to SS because HOF still seems similar to SS to me, your teammates just don’t hit shots at all. So I’ll stick to that. But I honestly don’t think I’ll play more than a season. Better than last years but still not as fun as like 2K19 MC where the cpu was very good and your teammates could actually do things on their own.

How do I get my teammates to shoot the ball? Also, how do I call plays without having the ball in my hand? I have the On-Court Badge, and pressing square does absolutely nothing at all. I'm a PF. On the PS5. Not sure if any of that matters. It's frustrating. Wide open shots & they swing the ball to shoot a contested shot or drive in the lane & never make a layup.

When I try to call plays without the ball in my hands, it brings up the quick play menu.

On Xbox it’s LB so should be L1 on Ps5, it’ll be a auto selected play ran just have to move to the spot on the floor after pressing for the play to start

Yeah, that’s a good idea. They have loadouts for builds. So if you plan on playing online, make one for online and one for offline and just take some badges off. I noticed when I got quick first step on my PG up, nobody could guard me. So yeah, just taking some badges off should help make it a little more difficult.

Which kind of sucks. I'm not the type that wants to put up cheesy stats just to win games. I never had a desire to put 50-70+ points a game on 30-40 FGA. I'm more of the defensive hustle guy in past years. I don't even like playing on stacked MyCareer teams. I usually go towards a young up and coming team that has a clear need at my position.
I had better teammate experience in 2k18/19(skipped 2k20 and 2k21 current gen). 2k18 was my favorite teammate year. I remember signing with the Kings after rookie year and they had the #1 overall pick. I remember it was a very athletic 6'10 PF who was a 3 level scorer. His rookie year he didn't do much in the limited games I played. But as I simmed through to year 3, he became a phenom who could drop 30 a night, allowing myself to play naturally. This past year on 2k21 NG, it had to be up there with worse teammate years. The obvious bad lineup logic still persisted. But AI Playcalling felt very favored to post ups regardless of talent on the court. Had good up and coming players struggle because they would go 2-14 on post ups, and still ran offense through them in clutch time. Teammates couldn't hit an open shot to save their lives. As a Center, I needed PG/slashers who were very good at finishing around the rim and making FTs. I just hope it isn't as bad as last year.

Besides last year, I typically played my Rookie year until I unlocked the ability to influence trades/free agency and rotations minutes. Last year, I ended up played the first 100 games(5 minute quarters) because I never unlocked them. Not sure how long I will play once I get the game. It depends on how long it takes to unlock the ability to influence trades. That adds depth for me being able to ask for trades that improve our weaknesses.

For those who have played this so far, do you still become a Free Agent after rookie year or did they change it to where you have to fulfill an actual multi-year rookie contract?

That would effect the way I would approach the mode. I like to go to a young team with a young star to team up with. I know about the trade storyline in MyCareer this year. If we still become a Free Agent after rookie year, then I don't have think much about the team I request a trade too in rookie season. But if we have to do multiple years before FA, then I will have to be certain about the team I want to be traded too. Plus, I like to sim to 2nd year once I develop my player to a good enough overall. If we don't become a FA after year 1, no point of me simming until year 2.
