Love when Czar drops in, hate when he leaves. If you don't mind me asking what tool do I need to use to make contested shots? I've tried everything but I haven't seen an and 1 three in 2k23 all year. Please help, for the life of me, this is so unrealistic/frustrating.

Re: NBA 2K24 Gameplay Enhancements Revealed with Trailer
Interested to see how the defensive movement feels as Mike described in the blog. Haven't loved the feeling of individual/on-ball defense since probably 2K16 (although I thought '19 was ok). Obviously the engine and motion system have changed a lot since then, but I hope it feels somewhat similar in terms of the control and responsiveness.Last edited by CaVsFaN2273; 08-17-2023, 05:35 PM.Comment

Re: NBA 2K24 Gameplay Enhancements Revealed with Trailer
I'm talking in terms of the defender and how the defender responds to a Pro Play move when a offensive player attempts one
I've noticed that some of the animations from the trailer had the defender reactions look every natural and realistic
Are the defenders reactions (how they contest or get faked out) to the Pro Play animations controllable on the user end?
Thanks for the insight, you're doing wonders for sports gaming over there at 2kComment

Ahh well, maybe they at least got mo-cap love? More time to spend mo-capping for legends now that the current players are covered with ProPlay, right?
Not sure if you would have an answer for this, is ProPlay for old footage something that they are unable to do or was the focus just on the modern era for year one? I'm still trying to understand how the technology works.
As always, appreciate you coming through! You know it's fam here!Comment

I wish they had a tech guy from 2k talk more about this. Sounds interesting to me and I would love to read more about it.Comment

I'm guessing we are still a ways off from having more dynamic and real AI coaching decisions though, like cross matching? That and an expansion to coaches are my top wishes (and the two are extensions of each other imo)Comment

This tech though is something I'd really like to learn more. EA did a great job by showing a whole page dedicated to the new movement tech. Why can't 2k do the same? Instead we get news of season passes to nickel and dime the fans.

Aww damn.
Can you share if MJ or any notable classic players got any new sigs (mo cap etc)?
Also does Kobe fall into the classic player mo cap? Or being the cover star did he get proplay?
Thanks for the insights.Comment

Re: NBA 2K24 Gameplay Enhancements Revealed with Trailer
This perfectly highlights how important ProPLAY is not only to the look of the game (which can’t be understated… holy hell did 2K23 look horrible in comparison with the obvious “X animation, ok now Y animation, ok now Z animation” sequence that has 0 blending), but the actual function of gameplay as well. With all those minor hitches in the old animation system trying to pick one animation, then another, then another, the game looks inauthentic and the ability to create realistic space and dribble combinations is severely lacking (without resorting to left/right cheese). The way these animations realistically blend (at least in what we’ve been shown) is a multi-generational leap in look and function.Comment
