    No disrespect but CPU definitely don't recognize mismatches and will double team me on PS5, one out of like ten games they notice it and did double for one or twice in that one game only, I have been supporting every year by buying PS5, Switch, but I just play for a few weeks and leave it there because these basic defense is missing and game is breakable to me, can you promise this year would be a change final finally?

      can't agree more, i play nba live 19 more than any of the 2k in recent years COMBINED!

        I played it recently and it held up a lot better than I expected, both with gameplay and graphics.

            So the new proplay mechanic isn't for the legends or classic teams - ah well, thanks for the clarification. No point buying this now then.

            Will continue to deep dive with Eras on 2k23.

              You dont even know what they have planned for Eras my dude, I wouldnt say its no point because who knows if there are more animations from the classic teams/players that they added? Dont rule out anything just yet until that deep dive lol

                  I took that to mean in relation to signature movements (so ProPlay wasn't/can't be applied to capturing, say, Hakeem's precise Dream Shake) but it sort of sounds like ProPlay was also used to broaden the game's general animation base, which would seemingly affect what it looks like when classic players play as well.

                  Not to mention, perhaps some of those signature motions applied to modern players could be assigned to classics if there's applicable similarities.

                    I was thinking this too. For example, there was mention of ProPlay being used for things such as in-bounds passes. I would think that would be applied across the board (modern NBA, classic teams, WNBA, created players, etc) and not just for modern teams and players.

                    My understanding is that ProPlay isn't being used strictly for signature styles. It's also going to add better animations and fluidity (hopefully) to the gameplay as a whole.

                      Even without ProPlay we got solid signature additions in 2K23 for legends…like Magic’s passing style, Dennis Rodmans running style etc.

                      I’m sure that will just keep on expanding….

                        How is transition play this year ? The last really good transition game was 2k19 for me . 2k23 didn't really have any fast breaks vs cpu.

                            This whole proplay vs mocap thing sounds like an ocd nightmare for roster creators lol. I wonder if proplay animations will be specified as such in the sig list.

                            I can see myself driving myself nuts deciding if I should equip classic players with proplay animations or keep them with mocap animations that are already designated to them etc. lol

                            I dunno if I can handle that. I’m really hoping I can just hold on to 2K23 until 2K25 comes out since I imagine proplay will be much more expanded and fully integrated by then.

                              I'm surprised that no one is talking about this:

                              "Lots of new controller settings this year. Separate toggles for Shots, layups, free throws, as well as control type (Pro Stick, Button"

                              Yet it seems to me to be one of the biggest news if they change the controller controls for shooting. Is this the end of the shoot button? Or the end of the pro stick for shooting? And I'm curious about the new free-throw controls (it would be nice to have a separate gameplay for that).

                              Does anyone here know more? What I do know is that for more than 10 years I've noticed that Mike Wang wants to make the shooting system deeper and more complete (control of the shooting arc, power and precision). His best (but imperfect) attempt was in 2k21. Last year he said that he would like to implement a system similar to that used in the pga tour game. For those who haven't tried it, it's with the right stick, from back to front you have to have the right rhythm and be precise. And it's the user who sets the pace.

                              So... Can anyone tell us more about these new controls (and the future of precision shooting and arc control)?

                                Big Czar! Gotta say the biggest thank you for coming back in and tapping in with the sim family in an era where... ahhh nevermind, you know where I'm about to go lol

                                A couple small questions. I noticed not much of a difference for transition offense/pace settings between Run in Transition and Crash Defensive Boards, mainly because unlike years before, the defense actually started a full sprint before the offense did which meant virtually no fastbreaks (also noticed the only way to change Defensive Boards settings is missing OTF and can only do it as you mentioned a while back in the menus with ACE off)

                                Are there more tendencies and/or ratings?

                                In relation to that, does the CPU AI finally utilize some of the tools the user has on offense, such as the manually "adjust layup", pass fakes, all the different post ivots, snake dribble, etc? Would love to see the CPU have the same treats as us.

                                What exactly does the CPU consider a "threat level"? I'm just curious because I would love to see that expanded into different coaching types, such as a "double team aggressiveness" or "PnR defense adjustment aggressiveness"

                                Last one big homie, are we close to a time where we have more emphasis on expanded coach settings? Ever since freelances have been added we've not been able to set them to a coach, has anything related to that been improved for the ability to set that? Would also love Series to be utilized by the CPU as well throughout the flow of a game.
