The Bulls retro warmups are also available in modern mode if you equip the 93-98 Bulls jerseys. I REALLY hope they also make it to 2K24. Also I wonder if the Kobe era lakers warmups also get applied to those 00’s lakers jerseys in modern mode (as they did the bulls in 2K23).

Not seeing much that stands out, to be honest. No point watching the modern day era clips, or any online stuff as I'll never use those teams or modes, so Proplay is out for me.

Looks just like 2k23 for the most part in terms of the Mamba footage. Post play looks revamped, but couldn't spot many other new animations but at least it looks like rim hang dunks are back, so that's something.

Outside of that, pretty much the same for most yearly released games - same ol', same ol'.

If we could port saves and rosters over from one year to the next, I'd be 100% down for it, but my soul is leaking out of my rear end just thinking about another year having to edit everything.....AGAIN.

The worst part of the annual 2K cycle is going around the merry-go-round of gameplay changes from patch to patch. There’s no better time to play a 2K game than towards the end of the 2K year when they finally leave it alone. Now we can finally enjoy 2K23 in peace!

the user player controlled players movement look very robotic to me using that camera setting. off ball, off defense, cut scenes after baskets, everything else looks more organic.

only looked at 2 videos but would like to see broadcast camera footage.

            Perimeter play looks excellent.
They got the shot contests effect looking good and realistic. If a person can dribble and shoot off the dribble they should be unguardable just like real life.

The paint passing is disappointing. Way too easy to throw pinpoint passes in traffic and in the paint.

Now that they have made ballhandling and the perimeter game realistic they have to make sure the defensive settings work. Otherwise, they will unrealistically buff perimeter defense and we are back to square 1.

All I am looking for now is defensive on drop steps, and the defensive settings working. Add those 2 things and we got action.

You have better defensive coverage in 2k12 or 2k14...
Is it so impossible to make it at least decent "out of the box", without 10 updates or so?

I think 2k really took the year off
If you really think about it if the gameplay wasn't changed as much you would think MYNBA would be doing major things
Nope that little blog along with hiding the gameplay trailers to the last min tells me the conclusion of the matter
                  2k took this year off!

I expect 2k25 to be major!

A less forgiving passing system and with more proactive help defense (situational of course) is all the game is really missing in my eyes. At least those are the two ares i would like to see the devs focus on going forward.

And they work hand in hand. The abuse of the passing system is due to the deficits in help defense/offball defense and the offball defense is so exploitable due to the deficits in the passing system

Now i know this must be something that is difficult to balance with regard to fun and realism but is still something i hope is addressed in the near future

I haven't watched every single video yet but is anyone else seeing every made shot by the user being a swish? I know that was an issue at the beginning of 2k23 that they had to patch.

Of course after typing this i'm starting to see some shots go in that aren't swishes by the user. ARGH

Personally this gameplay is about what I expected -- continued small to moderate refinements. The blogs / trailers serve as marketing so obviously they'll pump it up, but being realistic with a 1 year development cycle there is only so much that can be done.

I see plenty of new animations and I believe the statement that a LOT of them were added, but they're not going to be wildly different compared to what you've seen in previous 2K, just more smooth and lifelike especially for star players.

At the end of the day, 2K ball will always be 2K ball, and expecting it to look hugely different is setting up for immediate disappointment. You're either into the series or you're not. We know the cycle of improvements to expect by now.

I see guys saying that ProPlay isn't used for classic players and I don't understand why. Isn't the goal of this feature to add authentic animations from footage without the need to motion-capture them? If so, it sounds to me like it could be huge for classic players, for whom there are no motion capture sessions by the players themselves. Develooers must have access to a huge collection of high quality footage of old games, so why not use it?

Special cameras installed in the actual stadiums that captured movements, shots, etc. Without knowing the technology and type of cameras we can only assume it would not be the same as pointing a camera at a Youtube video to capture legends footage.

I would think the camera technology has built in ligament detection, body detectors that does most of the legwork for them from the actual footage. They then store the data under running, dribble sig, layups etc. per player. I would also think they would have multiple cameras to capture in area movement.
