If you feel your getting to the basket too easy maybe bump up lateral quickness or on ball defense.

I think I’ll probably bump up both a tiny bit. What would you recommend? More or less, how sensitive are those sliders (will only 1 point make a difference)?

I haven't touched either slider, Eccentric can possibly chime in and assist you on the sensitivity of those.

Try five each until you get a response

I used the majority of the sliders here so I honestly have no idea what I'm doing that's different from everyone else.

Re: NBA 2K18 "The Eccentric Edition" - Realistic Slider Set

I tested another Nets (Me) vs. Bucks (CPU) game up to halftime. I know the stats could look different for a full game but, at least in testing mode, I can only really give time for half of a game (as I have a 2 year old toddler at home who takes my attention).

At half, this is how it looked:

            Nets 56 Bucks 49
            FG%: 48% FG%: 47%
            3PT: 50% 3PT: 33%

I only put these stats up as they are what I am focusing on right now. I upped CPU defense by 5 points and I feel it's a little more of a challenge to get to the hole. Plus, when I do with Russel I don't always make the basket due to the good D. This has been nice to work with.

3 pointers still seem pretty easy to drain. I dropped 3PT to 45 for both CPU and HUMAN. There are times where it still feels crazy at the amount of 3s made.

There are points where the Bucks (CPU) will have their point guard at the top of the key for a good 10 seconds (as the rest of the team is in movement). Eventually, they get around to shooting; however, not until 3-6 seconds are on the shot clock.

Overall, I really love the feel. I'm thinking of adding even more difficultly on the CPU's defensive end. If not that, I may look at dropping the 50 for close and midrange shooting; thinking that could drop the amount of made shots overall (as I would like to get closer to the 45% shooting mark).

That's a tough one because I find it easy enough to drive past defenders regardless of those settings.

I would increase BOTH by 5 until it's TOO difficult, and then decrease ONE of them by 5. If that doesn't make it easier, put that slider back up by 5 and then decrease the other!

I was thinking this morning about why bumping up lateral quickness may not be best to fix this problem. By adding a higher ability of lateral quickness for the computer, you are essentially giving the computer and added bonus on the offense of end as it will now be quicker laterally than the human player.

I’m wondering if on ball defense is really the only spot you can try to fix this problem.

I've grown tired of putting in small tweaks to v3 to try and improve the overall awful play of the AI on offense. I threw it on HoF default and while being a bit cheesy, ok maybe a lot cheesy, the AI actually MOVED. They knocked down open shots, they came off screens, they attacked the basket, they were aggressive, they pushed the fast break. They were playing basketball.

V3 is so bad eccentric and I say that in the nicest way. Everyone's trying to make small tweaks and getting nowhere. I personally have seen little improvement from the AI even after bumping their shot success all the way to 53 and turning jumpshot/layup defense down. There has to be a middle ground between HoF default and a custom slider set.

Can you post the v2 values in a post? (doesn't have to be the OP) V2 with shot success upped to help the AI was starting to feel really good and the AI was challenging but now they are pushovers. They struggle to shoot over 40% on a consistent basis and offensively, don't move well with or without the ball.

i too would love v2 with mfbmike's tweaks, maybe this is the step in the right direction

with everyone im sure we can make Eccentrics sliders popular for every 2k18 player.

Honestly I think default hall of fame is great. Only problem is 3pt shooting is still way too high especially for the user. I have lowered 3pt success to 35 for both cpu and user but i still have yet to find the right spot, there are still times where a ridiculous number of threes are being hit in a row its pretty much an automatic make if you are open, may just be a flaw in the game as it doesn't seem to matter what sliders I am using.

Got to admit, i played my last game on HOF default and wow it was probably the best game i've played so far in 2k18. I did it because i remember when i played it for the first time i put on SS default and it was really great and challenging but as i played more games it became a bit too easy. Yesterday i played with these sliders with Magic vs Heat and i was leading by 20 at the half. And today i started ML with Magic again and played against Heat on HOF default and wow it was so great, challenging, CPU was really agressive, i really had problems with Dragić, Hassan was blocking me and grabbing rebounds, James Johnson did a bit of everything. I won 102-98 but men it was tough and i was really happy that i won. I appreaciate your work but for now i am staying with HOF default

                              I've re-posted the v2 base slider set.

Been away from 2k18 for the past week, just needed to avoid getting completely burned out from the game. I'm gonna do a little testing tonight, just small tweaks at a time to make things a little easier to focus on and fix.

Enjoy v2 until I fix the mess that was v3 (though v3 are still posted as a reference)
