I really can't believe how much have you improved the defense in the game with your sliders, I didn't think it was possible.

Played against the Spurs and won by 2, DWade bailed me out with hitting contested shots in the last couple of minutes, game was so fun.

The CPU always get soooooooo many blocks on me lol like usually 10+ a game. Not sure how much of that has to do with what I'm doing or the sliders lol

A little of both haha the defense is MUCH improved, so you'll need to take smart shots and/or dish it out when attacking the basket as paint protectors WILL knock your contested layups away if you're not careful!

Love everything (ESPECIALLY James' stat line) but 8 FTs is extremely worrisome. I think I know the fix for that, though. Look forward to an update on that shortly!

Yea the defense took a WHILE, hence the 1 month delay since my last update! All the feedback lately is making it A LOT easier to tweak for my next minor update, so I appreciate it!

Working on an update right now. My focus:

- More FTs for the CPU (fixing on-ball defense and animations had the unintended effect of reducing shooting fouls)
- Slightly more explosive movement with the ball
- Improved CPU offensive tendencies and aggressiveness

Current progress:

- Movement with the ball has been sorted
- CPU tendencies/aggressiveness are much improved, but needs fine-tuning to avoid rushed-shots and an over-reliance on forcing layups

And yea I'm LOVING the variety from the CPU. I was testing out some tendency changes, Rockets (Me) vs. Cavs (CPU) and the first quarter I raced out to a quick 15-3 lead with 8 minutes left. A little worrisome.

Then Lebron went off and started SHREDDING my defense, forcing his way to the rim, earning trips to the line, and carving up my defensive rotation to kick it out to the open man. And their defense started locking me down as well, so much so that with 4 minutes left they'd turned a 15-3 deficit into a 20-16 lead.

I’ve always wondered if the devs ever peek in to these slider threads and give our tweaks a try. Would be interesting to hear their feedback!

Or maybe they could just leave one post in the forum detailing what exactly each and every attribute and slider controls and affects, in great detail (hint hint, random dev reading this post [emoji6])

I think I'm going to stick with your Eccentric v4 slider set. The current set is way too defense heavy for my liking. Any halfway contested shot is smothered, contested layups are a guaranteed miss and it just feels like a slog. I also feel the CPU is too tight defensively. Rarely do they give an open opportunity.

The CPU is also deadly on any open mid or 3PT shot. I played 2 quick games with the Heat against the Magic where Vučević and Isaac shot nearly 50% from wide open 3's. I couldn't leave any of their average shooters open on the perimeter. This was also with 50/50 Off. Consistency.

I appreciate the work the work you put in on this set, but v4 was more grounded for me. I'm going to move back to that set but keep the 48 game speed,increase the Off. Awareness for the CPU, and go for 0/0 Off Consistency as well. Cheers!

Can I ask why you were playing with Off. Consistency at 50/50? I set it at 0 to add more variety, and to somewhat offset the higher mid/3pt shot success sliders. That way the shot success is high enough for good shooters to be dangerous and get on a roll, but the lower consistency means they’re just as likely to go cold. Playing at 50 consistency will certainly lead to the deadly shooting that you described.

With v5.0 I see CPU players like Steph Curry miss open 3s at a realistic rate, as well as the non-elite shooters, and I have no problem knocking down contested jumpers if my timing is good and I have a decent shooter, unless it’s one of those stretches where my players can’t seem to buy a bucket (also thanks to the 0 Off. Consistency). I really can’t imagine playing with the sliders any more lax, otherwise shooting percentages would be far too high.

As far as contested layups, if you’re missing too many you can always increase the relevant success sliders (all of them can be edited to suit user preference without affecting the rest of the settings).

I hear you that defense is hard, but that is 100% what I was going for. You really have to play solid basketball in order to get consistent success against the AI defense.

Also, just a quick “test update” here. For those interested, try setting Body-Up Sensitivity to 100 again for both User/CPU instead of 0.

Let me know if you see an increase in foul calls (shooting, charging, and blocking), as well as how animations and on-ball defense have improved or gotten worse. I’ve been using 100 lately in my testing and I seem to be getting a lot more foul calls, without making it too easy to get to the rim against CPU defenders.

You still rocking out with 25 for shooting fouls? LOL I had to go back to 50. When my team is cold or like 2-10 from the field, I need that bail out. I get mauled at the rim and there’s no calls which is beautiful but sometimes it’s like c’mon ref?! I may go with something I between.

Yea somewhere in between is best! I would guess 35-40 but at 40 I was still seeing too many fouls on layups some games haha
