Yea, the other tendencies need to be tweaked. I’m gonna mess around with some settings later tonight, as I’ve been trying out a few different tendency tweaks the last few days.

No problem. What should I do in the mean time? OP or OP with the tweaks minus ATB at 100?

If you're searching for tendency tweaks, from my experience, using lower values has resulted in fewer forced bad shots. I'm currently using the following values for CPU.

Inside: 16
Close: 8
Mid: 16
3PT: 32
Post: 8
ATB: 32
Look for Post: 16
Throw Alley: 16
Attempt Dunks: 50
Attempt Putbacks: 50

I bumped the cpu and user speed acceleration movement on ball to 65 and I really like that. The explosive players are there. Thank you eccentric, this feels like a brand new game for me. Couldn't stand all the sliding around court anymore. Players have weight and more realistic movement. Great work

Co-signed...I've tried the same last night, your Offensive Tendencies coupled with Eccentric sliders also as a combo. Straight up dope!

Eccentric, lovin your set man. You nailed it on the pick and roll defense. That's been one of the biggest complaints all year. Problem solved!

Eccentric, the CPU does play smarter and more aggressively with these values. The way the CPU Runs plays, pass the ball, draw fouls and attack the basket was very good. Still a lil rusty but I do believe with a lil bit of tweaks these can be perfect. I was using these values with your current sliders.

I was using those tendencies and I noticed the CPU being too passive or unaware at times. Key example would be: Curry attacks the basket (slowly, just kind of walks his way to the rim) and then stands there for a few seconds, directly under the rim, not doing anything but maintaining his dribble before eventually passing it back out.

Have you seen anything like that?

Usually I see casual walks into the paint turn to turnovers. If they get deep, I have to double team as good players like Curry can make consistent inside shots over single coverage.

I have also seen them pass out of the paint in certain situations. Im not sure if we're seeing the same physicality en route to the paint.

I assume you're looking for more aggressive shot taking, but please correct me if wrong.
Particularly for this set's defense/offense balance, I could see either lowering ATB (and probably 3PT) by 1 level to see fewer aimless attacks OR raising each shot tendency slider up a level (i.e. 4 to 8, 8 to 16, 16 to 32, 32 to 50). .

I haven't tried this set with these Tendencies, would love to see gameplay visuals

Wow! These sliders are great.
Only problem I have with them is “shot clock cheese”

But the stats were pretty good and low FG% were pretty realistic. I was hot to start the game and went cold during the 4th Q and O.T. Other than that it was a challenge that I need and welcome.

What I was seeing was the CPU just kind of walking towards the rim as if they were receiving an inbound pass and walking to half court, they didn’t even seem to realize the basket was there, and they would just stand under the rim and dribble aimlessly til they pass it out.

It didn’t happen often, but when it did it was pretty jarring.

And essentially what I’m looking for is the CPU to aggressively attack the basket when they see the opening, but to also pass it out when the help defense is too strong.

I'm not vouching for anyone to do this, as I know some may find issues, but "only as a test" I increased CPU Inside Shot Tendencies too 100 along with your tendencies @duce...and in my opinion Cpu was more aggressive as in if you left a lane for them to drive, they go in for it mostly without hesitation, and if they are not trapped or hit with heavy defense they will certainly go for the shot. Also, get this, it did NOT neglect any form of kick outs, and did not take away from all other various shot attempts that we'd like to see.

On the flipside, I did not like attack being any higher than it was, and remember @duce I was explaining to you via your slider thread, that attack being set as low as it is coupled with lower values for other offensive tendencies works extremely well. What I am trying to say (and I tested this at 100) is that attack being set high seems to be making cpu take the so-called dumb/bad shots, while neglecting smooth ball rotation. All I can say is try it for yourselves, and if its too much tune it down from there. Just my opinion again, and something I observed. Correct me if wrong, and you all see otherwise.

(I've also tested this with CPU hustle at 100, because I wanted Cpu to be less robotic when playing with aggression. I wanted CPU to feel less like scriptedCPU and more like playing against a human.)

Lastly, you don't have to go with cpu inside shot tendency at 100, it was only a test, seemed great to me, try and test it or something close to it if you'd like...just a suggestion.

Overall, great great set @Eccentricmeat! Enjoying it.


EDIT: Forgot to mention that in my test, I increased CPU Offensive Awareness +5 clicks (80) because I felt it was needed for aggressive ball movements, plus superstars playing like stars. I f

Yes I’ve noticed this too. I switched back to the recent slider values. Playing with the low values has potential but it was to rusty to enjoy. One play, the CPU literally ran towards the back court and got a backcourt violation
