Real FG% needs different Shot Success sliders than User Timing, so it’s not typically something you can just plug and play with as-is. Worth a try though.
I’d recommend user timing as it can be much more challenging, engaging, and rewarding. The frustration of missing a wide open shot to tie up the game is a lot easier to deal with if you know you miss-timed the release, rather than the game just deciding that you deserved to miss with Real FG%.
If you’re terrible at timing the shot, go into freestyle Practice mode and learn the animations for each of your players. Make sure you have Shot Feedback turned on in the Settings menu, so that you can see how well you timed the shot AND see how open/contested the game qualified that shot attempt. It may also be worth turning on the shot meter and timing the release that way (though I personally hate on-screen overlays like that as it feels like a mini-game instead of just a flowing game of basketball).
There is always a need for more testing. But that’s just because some of us are obsessed with getting every tiny detail of gameplay the way we view is “right”. That’s not to say that you can’t have an incredibly enjoyable game without the constant testing behind it. I’ve had some of my best games on early test sets that were nowhere near ready to be posted on this forum.
People bought TVs in the 70s, but those weren’t anywhere near the quality of the 4K HDR OLED options we have today. Does that mean those TVs weren’t worth buying and using? [emoji41]
