Re: Schnaidt1's 2k20 MyLeague and Gameplay Sliders

I tried your idea and I think it doesn’t play well at all. CPU won’t attack the basket at all. Also the CPU will have too many shot clock violations which I find is not realistic to real life games. I don’t want the CPU not to attack the basket at all or just 1-2 times in a quarter. Not realistic.

In my opinion the main goal is to have the game play as close as it is in real life. And so 40-50% of the score should come from points in the paint. Take yesterday’s game between 76ers (PIP:58, total score 110) and clippers (38, 103). By just lowering attack the basket I get the best results for PIP.

In my opinion lowering offensive awareness does fix the artack the basket problem but changes the style the game plays to drastically so that other changes would need to be made to the sliders.

What do you think schnaidt is the best way to go here? Lowering attack the basket or lowering offensive awareness?

Lower awareness will also get rid of the CPU tendency of either shooting or passing immediately when working the ball into the low post. Bigs will now back the defender down and use post-up moves, then take the hook/fade/layup if it’s there or pass it out to an open shooter/slasher.

I’m currently playing with CPU Offensive Awareness at 0 and love the way the offense is playing, although I might need to increase it slightly (or possibly increase the Shot Tendency settings slightly) so that the CPU takes more contested shots and tries to force their way to the basket more often. With OA at 0 they seem to prefer to REALLY milk the shot clock unless they get a wide open lane or shot opportunity.

What platform are you playing on and in which region do you live?
On PS4 and in Germany there was no update today. Is there a way I can check if there is a in-game update waiting to be installed?

      I put ATB: 35

Pulled down off. Awareness to 40.

Again, not sure if it was the sliders or the update.

I’m not sure what tendencies you’re using (I saw people floating around various tweaks in here like having Inside Shot tendency down to 15 and/or ATB below 30).

The tendencies I’m using are very similar to Schnaidt’s and I rarely have shot clock violations. Note that I use Superstar difficulty, and using Pro may be causing the shot clock issue you’re seeing. These are not final and are still being tweaked regularly, but here’s what I’m using at the moment just for reference:

        Offensive Awareness - 0
        Inside - 45
        Close - 5
        Midrange - 40
        3pt - 80
        Post Shots - 55
        ATB - 55
        Look for Post - 100

These still need work and are nowhere near perfect, but the CPU plays aggressively yet realistically and can be very tough to stop when they get on a roll. In my last game the CPU got 48 of their 104 points in the paint.

I'm in the USA, on the PS4. Usually updates just install themselves when you start up the game. What it does though is in general a mystery.

Ok thank you for more details. I use schnaidt’s sliders from the OP on pro level (like most people do in this thread) and it doesn’t work in the right way when only lowering offensive awareness. I will try your tendencies and see if it is better than before.
But normally I don’t won’t to change the difficult level because then you need to make more changes to the sliders and not only change tendencies.
Schnaidt made a really good job with this slider set. So changing difficulty would mess up the other slider categories (offense, defense, etc.).

I agree, and you wouldn’t want to change the difficulty level on this slider set because it just won’t work the way it was meant to.

I’m gonna give a try with my settings on Pro just to see the difference, but the likely issue is just that higher difficulty settings give an artificial boost to awareness/aggressiveness, so at lower difficulties you would need to set awareness higher to get the same results.

And I would just like to clarify that I’m not recommending Offensive Awareness at 0, at least not yet. I set it to 0 as a first test to see the most drastic differences in the way the CPU plays, and haven’t tested it at 20 or 40 or anything like that. But in my findings it is safe to say that there is a clear improvement to the CPU decision making at OA settings somewhere below 50. We just need to figure out the sweet spot and find the right balance with Tendencies.

I’ve downloaded some slider sets that have offensive and defensive awareness at 100. To me that’s just too high especially on higher difficulties. Seems like 50 or below would be the better way to go

I've asked a couple times now and haven't gotten a response on something so I'll try again lol. I set the difficulty to pro in the settings then download the sliders. I think the game is changing it to HOF after the download due to getting 1100 VC after games. Can anyone confirm or deny this. How much VC is it given you when you finish a MyLeague game. Being on HOF would explain many of the issues I'm seeing.

I get 200-300 VC per winning game. So it not a problem of the slider set. You should try to set difficulty to pro and then manually change the sliders (won’t take that long) and see if it works for you.

Edit: just finished a game. Won 113:110 against the hawks and got 299 VC

I'm getting 1100 win or lose. First time I used this slider set I got 900. Guess I'll have to enter them manually to see if I'm right about it being on HOF.

It is not on HOF for anyone else in this thread. So it has to be a mistake in your settings. Maybe you downloaded the wrong slider set. Put them in manually then it should work.

No the set is correct. I've tried it multiple times. I'm going to enter them manually tomorrow to see if it makes a a difference.

Just bought the game and starting My league

When I download the My league settings, I notice quite a few of the figures are different to what is on front page.

I downloaded the "Official Release" one.

Is there a newer one online perhaps under different name?
