The Combine has already created a new schism. Some(myself included) see many improvements and are very excited for 2K10, others have a feeling of same ole, same ole and are already close to throwing in the towel.

I hope that those who end up not feeling 2K10, say their piece constructively and then move on, instead of being a relentless irritant, constantly taking subtle and not so subtle shots at the game and those who do like it.

from the combine 2k10 will for surely not be 2k9.5

you can see the difference in alot of areas and i have high hope for 2k10 and will still hold on to the crown as king of basketball.

Good post youvalss this is how I feel about marketing too. And this is one area I think 2K can improve in.

I like the fact that they are finally taking the time to do these Dev insights because I feel like they are long overdue.

This is the type of info I like to hear but I wish that they had started earlier like EA did. The info is nice but at the same time its like I want to hear about gameplay now.

The audio insight was good but its something I think they could have talked about earlier.

I just don't like 2K's marketing because i feel like they could do so much more with it.

Generally 2K bball games have a lot packed into it I just wish they would show their product off more. I don't think doing that will increase sales but it will get people more interested in playing their game.

I think they could have really stolen the show if they marketed anywhere close to the way EA does for Live.

People are in love with animations so if they were showing off their gameplay improvements like EA IDK where live would be.

But hey the game is going to sell regardless so I guess it doesn't matter anyway. It just frustrates me to see how at times it seems like they aren't taking advantage of their top dog position.

I feel like they really could (And still might be able to got a month until release) crush Live if they just marketed more.

Imo 2K has the power to make Live nonexistent in some areas if they showed off the game more. Its like at this point they can show off stuff but EA's already got a hold of peoples attentions so the impact of their info may not be as huge.

          Whatever rant over I'm done.

live does this every year and hype people to buy there game then people do and its turn out to be super trash. 2k method of marketing may frustrate some people but if its works USE IT. 2k sales numbers has rise every year and live numbers has fallen or been equal SO......the smartest and best marketing is the one that shown to be more profitable and the winner of that goes to 2k sports
Why do people say this? No one blindly buys games solely off the their name anymore.

The same reason I started to pay attention to 2k7 instead of live 07, it looks good.

But agree to disagree I still don't think it should have been much emphasis on DC as there was since it's not a full fledged reflection on 2K10

I am more or less talking about myself. I have been a 2k customer since 2k7, but I'm never gonna blindly buy their product off of their name. Maybe your casual everyday gamer will, but I won't. And that goes for any game.

And the people talking about the combine, this is what simballer said..

I think you guys are astute enough to know that this is not final 2K10 gameplay code, it physically can't be. This game needed to be done in early July while we have until mid-late September for the full version of the game. That being said, you'll see the core changes to the game (spacing (which makes a big difference), mechanics, etc.).

It's a very fun experience that brings new gameplay to the table (the game plays totally different than what you are used to as you are player locked to your player). If you take it for what it is (it is NOT final 2K10 gameplay), then I honestly think you guys will really enjoy it. More than anything we've put out, this game rewards fundamental basketball and punishes me-first cheeser basketball. There is a learning curve for people who play a certain way, they are going to struggle at first.

                            Only 11 more days...
He said it'd have core changes, but its not final 2k10 gameplay. Can't find the post where he said its 2k9.5 though.

If 2k waits till two days before releasing 2k10 to show vids of actual gameplay and in that gameplay you see everything you wanted in a basketball sim, then what game are you going to get.
