I definitely agree w/ the first part and most of the second part of your post, but I will say that I have had it happen when I or someone I'm playing passes the ball but the intentional foul is still called after the pass. That's the only part of your post I disagree with, cause I have seen that happen w/o an animation to stop the foul from being called.

^^Never seen that before^^ Was it an intentional foul...or a regular foul. I've seen charges get called really late. When you pass out of the shot.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

Re: Things in 2k10 that just make you want to throw the controller
I smashed a controller while playing last Saturday. Five times my guy leaves Paul Pierce or Ray Allen to double the post player. You know what happens next. I set double-teams to 'never', so why do they keep doing this crap?
Same crap happens when the CPU point guard drives the lane, and three of my defenders converge on him, leaving three-point shooters wide open. Stay on your man! You have no control on what your defenders do.Comment

Intentional Foul. I've had it occur where I'm trying to dribble out the clock and the intentional foul is called after I pass. This is player vs player though, so you may be right in that it doesn't happen player vs CPU as often.Comment

Re: Things in 2k10 that just make you want to throw the controller
I've learned that a lot of the double teaming is because of "help defense" slider. Especially with Boston. They have the slider at around 90. Just bring it down. You won't see any of that.I smashed a controller while playing last Saturday. Five times my guy leaves Paul Pierce or Ray Allen to double the post player. You know what happens next. I play a lot of player vs player matches...Probably about 98% of my 2k time is vs another human. And I have to say I've never seen a intentional foul after the pass.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

I have to go to each individual team and change the help slider, jeebs? What numer, in your opinion?Comment

I'm saying when your playing with whatever team...Just check the help defense slider. You won't get those stupid players leaving their man...or double teamingHands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

Re: Things in 2k10 that just make you want to throw the controller
I don't know what to say then. It is rare, but I have had it happen a few times.
"The foul animation starts and then breaks it because my opponent made a pass."
Yep. That's what happens, but the pass is made and the foul is still called.
But it definitely should be implemented better in 2k11.Comment

Re: Things in 2k10 that just make you want to throw the controller
These animations are just killing the game IMO. Animations slow you down. For an example, I tried to lay it up with Perkins, then the no-foul animation happened when Gasol contested me, so the ball fell on the floor, which I had plenty of time to pick up, but the animation carried through so I could not get the ball. Another animation was when I swapped the ball out of Fisher's hand with Rondo, the ball bounced across the court, but once again the animation carried through so Fisher was able to retrieve the ball. It's really frustrating.Comment

True Kully. I would be ok with it but some people may not like randomly occuring turnovers happening beyond their control. Example: Final seconds. suns down 1. I call a pick n roll with Amare using Nash. Amare sets a good screen and cuts to basket. I hit him with a great pass that goes off his hands and out of bounds. Clock expires. Game over. These situations should happen a lot more in 2k10 imo(Random TO's) I just know the majority of consumers would cry about these kind of things.I play 12 minute quarters.
I'm leading the league with fewest turnovers by quite a large margin. There needs to be more turnovers (and a variety of them, not only just tossing the ball away due to a bad pass).
I know developers believe we do not like control taken out of our hands in these situations, but to properly emulate basketball there needs to be a variety of ways to lose the ball.
On another note I know some people have issues with the control in 2k10 as well. Some people want pinpoint control being able to interupt animations any time they want. I both agree and disagree with that. I understand people not wanting to get stuck in animations but I also think you shouldn't be allowed to disregard the laws of physics once you start an action in a particular direction. You should not be able to cut on a dime or disregard momentum. This is such a hard thing to get down in hoops games imo. The thing that irks me about 2k10 the most regarding movement is that the user seems to get punished more with momentum when trying to move slowly more so than when you are mashing on turbo. That should be the opposite imo.Last edited by NINJAK2; 06-08-2010, 06:38 PM.EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. exactly, instead, the defense should play well and deflect passes so you can't pass it to a cutter with such ease. either that or there has to be random turnovers so the offense isn't over powerful like it is at this point.

i played 2k10 last night for the first time in forever at my buddies house, i'm used to playin college hoops 2k8 and i was BLOWN AWAY at how little control i had over my players. thats all i'm going to say.Comment

Re: Things in 2k10 that just make you want to throw the controller
True cubs. I remember nba 2k6 or 2k7 used to have a walk button(right trigger?)That really helped in getting to spots for plays or avoiding suction charges. 2k10 punishes subtle movements too severely imo with unneeded momentum and doesn't punish all out turbo movement nearly enough with it.EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. I miss the walk button but I got use to the suttle walk in 2k10. What sucks though is that the guards dont protect the ball better. The steal animations will eat you up when you walk.Comment

No post up button was even a bigger problem, for me anyway. You would just prance and dance around with your big until you got the post up animation. This would sometimes translate into broken plays because of wasted time or forced shots.Comment
