@rocboys yeah thats what i been saying. U cant just flick da stick and expect to make shots consistently even if ur using REAL FG%. Timing still plays a small part in it, just not as much as SHOT STICK TIMING

Rare, but I did do that w/ Yao once. I routinely make jumpshots w/ terrible releases. I remember raining down 3's w/ my 61 3PT My Player w/ a "late" release.

I've been fooling around with a variety of teams and it's refreshing being able to hit an appropriate shot based on that players skill, rather than learning his signature shot.

For instance, I started an association with the 76ers and since they're certainly not a good shooting team, I'm finding every game to be very challenging. A good example was my first game against the Miami Heat. During the 1st QTR I was running my sets and playing sound defense, but Miami's offense and defense was too much for the length of a full game.

Overall I'm just loving the feel that real shot percentage brings to the game. Add this with the Simulation game style and NBA 2K11 feels like a good honest game of basketball.

Also, this isn't to say people can't catch fire. In a game against the Pacers, Evan Turner had a stretch of 9 straight points, after being fouled on a three point shot and making the basket.

I also find this makes Lou Williams a valuable scorer, as he has some good quickness, and has a nice percentage on his step back jumper.

Also, I don't find real shot % takes anything away from the control of the game, because it still comes down to their ratings. I feel all this does is allow you to shoot correctly with all players without having to learn each sig shot.
This definitely piques my curiosity and gives me cause to reconsider which method I'm going to use.

Re: Will You Use Real Player % Or Shot Stick Timing?

Im having a hard time understanding the need to differentiate between the two. If a player's shot is tied to his rating then it should only go in based on that fact (assuming your release is perfect). If a guy has a player's shot release down to a tee he should still be confined to the player rating. Therefore a gamer's skill will go as far as the player he is using. Isn't that how this game works (or is suppose to)?

^It seems as though you get a 10 point rating boost for getting a perfect release. ^^

Im no designer, but I think THIS is how Real % is going to work...

While Shot release is basically the same as the shooting in NBA Delete

Dude, why would you think that? Can somebody confirm whether or not shot release has an effect on FG% using real FG%?

For FT's it's pretty much based solely on timing the release, hence why people are able to shoot 80%+ from the FT line with SHAQ. This is why I will defnitely use Real Player% for FT's.

For jump shots, apparently its not the same as FT's, which are pretty much based on timing of the release. Apparently with jump shots it's different. Getting a perfect release on the jump shot increases the odds a little bit based of that players shooting rating. If this is true, then I will use SHOT STICK RELEASE for jump shots.

But for FT's, definitely REAL PLAYER %. Using SHOT STICK RELEASE for FT's is definitely not realistic.
