Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Is there a point to put a player in the D-League? Does it help them raise their potential or anything?Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Hes at a 71 right now, but thats because he doesnt do anything else but score the basket. He once had a career high with 50 points. Hes basically finally living up to the 3rd pick, thanks to me.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
just started my association with da Bulls.. im gonna play the october n november to see how they work.. then i will make minor tweaks to the roster in december.. one thing is for sure is that i got to trade Brewer for someone with a better shot.. he is killing me with the amount of open jumpers he misses.. thinking about going after Melo for Deng, Gibson n a 1st round pick.. but Deng is playing real well so i might not make that move.. (i think thats a fair deal both ways).. right now Rose is hurt so I signed Janero Pargo to back up Watson for now.. currently 4-2.. loss to the Blazers (that was the game Rose got hurt n i never really got back in the game after that).. and loss to the Celtics by TWO w/o Rose.. Deng missed a jumper to send it to OT..
i try n make trades that are close to being realistic.. or fair both ways.. i turn trades off until the end of december.. becuz too many teams makes trades in the 1st ten days of the season n thats not even close to realistic..

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
This will be my stopgap team until the trade deadline IRL:
So I simmed the rest of the season, and for the heck of it, I did the Favors, Murphy, 2 1st Rounders for Melo trade.
Ended up getting the 8th spot in the playoffs to be swept by the champions in the first round -- the Orlando Magic.
Got the 16th pick in the draft, my only pick. With it, I drafted Jared Sullinger out of Ohio State.
In free agency, I did okay. With about 11 million in cap space, I was able to re-sign Kris Humphries and Corey Brewer and using the MLE on Vince Carter and Shaq(he's from Newark actually) who are aging players looking to get that ring in their final years.
I didn't want to go after J.R. Smith who wouldn't co-exist with Avery or Shannon Brown because I'd be paying too much. I prefer developing the young guys and having a couple older guys leading the way.
My team looks like this:
Harris/Farmar/Uzoh
Morrow/Carter
Anthony/Brewer/James
Humphries/Sullinger
Lopez/Shaq/Petro
Like I said, this will only be temporary until trades happen in the NBA. But I'll try to bring a ring to New Jersey.Comment

Just beat the Magic at their own game...went 20/39 from deep. Rashard Lewis had 7, Nick Young 5, Kirk Hinrich 3, Lester Hudson 2, Josh Howard Howard 1, Yi Jialian 1, and Cartier Martin 1! We just came out on fire, only to pull away at the very end...113-97.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
NJ Nets, about to start year 2.
Traded for Melo last season, in exchange for Favors, Murphy, 2 first round picks (one of them was Houston's pick). Also received Raja Bell in the deal from Utah. Forget what Utah sent to Denver.
I snagged the sixth seed in a weak east with a 14-15 record, but was swept by Miami.
Roster as of now looks like this.
72 OVR Brandon Knight, PG (1st round pick, 8th overall)
74 OVR Arron Afflalo, SG (FA signing, 2 years 8 mil [part of MLE])
93 OVR Carmelo Anthony SF
85 OVR Josh Smith PF
84 OVR Brook Lopez C
Bench-
74 OVR Marcus Camby C
71 OVR Jordan Farmar PG
70 OVR Kris Humphries PF
68 OVR Anthony Morrow SG
68 OVR Joey Graham SF
63 OVR Reggie Evans PF (not in rotation)
58 OVR Mike James PG (not in rotation)
To get Josh Smith, i dealt Devin Harris, Kenyon Martin (who I had signed in the offseason to be my starting PF, but that changed) and two first round picks in a three way deal that also got me Joey Graham from Cleveland.
To get Camby, I dealt Raja Bell and Brad Miller (who I had acquired last season), a 2nd rounder and 1st rounder. Love this deal because Camby is an expiring 9 Million, but also a very good backup center.
You might wonder where I have all these first round picks...what I did was (to mirror real life) force the computer to trade me first round picks that the Nets currently have the rights to in real life. Right now, I'm left with my own first round pick for '12, and a second round pick for '13.
Team is rated at 82 overall.Comment
