Clippers have a plethora of young players to develop and/or use as trade bait. Aminu, Bledsoe, D. Jordan, E. Gordon and B. Griffin are a great young core. Not to mention you can get alot of cap relief with unloading Baron Davis and Chris Kaman in the off season.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
I totally respect someone who is willing to put that much time into an association. It takes alot of playtime, thought and patience to do that. I wish I had the time to go through that many seasons. I dont so Id rather do one or two seasons with guys I like. Its almost New Years and this is actually my first Association and I thought Id share it. Granted I made alot of moves but I didnt cheat any team in the process and actually lost out when Melo didnt sign with me. I had to make alot of the moves because of my pursuit of Melo. Ill gladly keep my association to myself if it irks so many people the way I run my association. The biggest thing that frustrates me is that I think my reasoning was actually very realistic. Just didnt know if I could pull it off. The Bulls probably will never be better than the likes of Miami or Orlando with the same core they have now so I made some wholesale changes with the free agency of Melo in mind. Much like many teams did with Lebron last year.
I post here for feedback and opinion as well, but most of all to past time at work when Im bored. OS has been the most mature community Ive been around since I joined but, it comments like those that make me second guess even posting on a message board. Some people take this sh** far too seriously. Excuse me for having fun and wanting to share my supposedly unrealistic 2K11 video game experience.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
I am about 10 games into my first 58 game season. I'm trying to not get too far ahead as I'm waiting for the trade deadline to pass IRL. I will be forcing the trades in my Association.
Anyways, I made my first move of the season:
NJ Nets receive:
Corey Brewer (71 overall)
Timberwolves receive:
Travis Outlaw (70 overall; 5 year deal)
2nd Rounder
I did this move to save some cap space and to give Corey Brewer some more playing time since he was put to the bench since Michael Beasley arrived. Travis Outlaw has been a solid sixth man for his career and could fit in with the team.
If a Melo trade occurs, or a trade involving Outlaw, I might use trade override to get back Outlaw.. but oh well. It's a wait and see.
My team is 7-5 right now after just beating the Hawks by one point. Next up is the Cavs who swept us 4-0 last season with LeBron.
Rotation:
Harris/Farmar
Morrow/Vujacic
Brewer/James/Graham
Humphries/Favors(I might let him start soon)
Lopez/Murphy(he isn' a true 5 but adequately gets the job done)
Some stats:
Lopez - 19.1 ppg, 7.3 rpg, 1.0 bpg
Harris - 16.9 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 6.5 apg, 1 spg
Morrow - 12.3 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 1.5 apg, 1 spg, 1.3 bpg
Humphries - 8.8 ppg, 9.2 rpg
Favors - 5.9 ppg, 7.5 rpgLast edited by J-Clutch1; 12-30-2010, 10:18 AM.Comment

I would unload Davis since Bledsoe is quicker and younger.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Hello guys. Playing in my first year as the Kings. (using Dynasty Roster V2)
First move I made was to get Mike Miller from Miami.
Why? Because Miller provides me a more than serviceable swingman who can rebound, shoot the trey, and pass the ball. All-around player, if you ask me.
Kings get: Mike Miller, '11 1st round pick
Heat get: Luther Head, '12 1st round pick
I don't see any reason why Miami would do this, but I still pulled the trigger on it since they're getting a "sure-fire" lottery pick and a decent combo-guard in Luther Head.
Second move was to get rid of Udrih's contract and Dalembert (to give way to the rise of Cousins!)
Kings get: Jeff Foster, T.J. Ford, Solomon Jones
Pacers get: Samuel Dalembert, Beno Udrih, '12 2nd round pick
Indiana gets a starter-quality big man in Dalembert (expiring contract to boot), a draft pick, and get a quality backup for Collison in Udrih. (though, they have to sacrifice a year of his contract, much like James Posey's, runs through two years)
Next move was to take Garcia's contract somewhere else.
Kings get: Morris Peterson
Thunder get: Francisco Garcia
I don't see this happening in real life since the Thunder would most probably want to save their cap for Westbrook and Green. Well, they offered it on trade finder, so why not.
I then waived Solomon Jones cos he really had no room in my roster.
THEN.. I signed Allen Iverson.Had no starting 2 guard (I wanted Miller to come off the bench to provide a scoring punch) so I had to resort to the free agent pool. I thought AI still had it in him, guess not.
Pulled off another trade to get a more decent starting 3.
Kings get: Trevor Ariza, Pops Mesah-Bonsu
Hornets get: Donte Green, Morris Peterson, '11 1st round pick (from Heat)
Save cap space, get rid of a role-player who thinks he's an all star, and get a first rounder. That's why the Hornets would do this.
I played one game after all these trades in the pre-season. It was against Dallas, at Dallas.
My line-up was:
PG: Evans
SG: Iverson
SF: Ariza
PF: Landry
C: Cousins
Bench:
Miller
Thompson
Ford
Foster
Whiteside
Casspi
Managed to rally win against the Mavs somehow. 104-96.
Tyreke lead the way with 35 pts, 5 rebs, 6 asts, but he also had a dismal 7 TOs. Miler and Thompson provided off the bench with 16 and 14 respectively. Miller quickly proved himself as he also had 8 rebs, 3 asts, and 1 block.
Where was AI..
7 pts, 3 asts and 1 steal. 2-7 shooting.
I needed a new starting SG, quick.
Kings get: Wesley Johnson, '11 1st round pick
Wolves get: Allen Iverson (1 year contract only), '11 1st round pick, '11 2nd round pick
I really don't see this happening in real.Haha. Sooo, no use in trying to provide an explanation.
Now, my line-up looks like this:
Evans, Johnson, Ariza, Landry and Cousins start.
Miller and Thompson get heavy minutes off the bench.
Casspi, Whiteside, Ford, and Foster play every once in a while.
I close games with Evans, Miller/Johnson (depends on my needs, if I need a better defender, I go with Wes, if I need a three point shooter, I go with Mike, comfortable with either player), Ariza/Casspi (same reason with 2 spot), Thompson, and Cousins.
7 games into the season, I'm 7-2. Lost to the Rockets and Lakers away. (Yao was unstoppable) Evans is currently leading the league in scoring with 29.0 PPG. He's also number one in PER at 34.2 On the other hand, Wes and Cousins are 2nd and 3rd for the rookies in scoring. 13.8 and 12.4 respectively. Wall leads them at 18.8.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
I like to keep the team together at least for the 1st season. So I wouldnt get rid of Kaman or Davis in the 1st year. With a decent F/A class in 2011 I would trade Kaman and Davis before F/A. They take up something like 25 million in cap space alone. Kaman will have 1 year left and Davis 2 years left on their contracts in the 1st offseason. Also opens the door for DeAndre Jordan and Eric Bledsoe to get more significant minutes. I can see why you would want to keep Kaman but Baron Davis must go! BD makes almost 14 million... talk about overpaid!Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Well I'm typing this on my touch so I'll make a detailed post later.
6-3 with the Raptors! I came back after being down 10 and took the lead with 4.8 seconds left, on a dunk by Bargs. I played horrible D against Arenas, and had enough room to fadeaway. Hit the front rim and out. We won.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Game 2 of my 1st Rd matchup w/ the Jazz took a different turn...
Utah poured in 37 pts in the 4th qtr while shooting 54% to Dallas' 37% and took a 105-100 victory over the Mavericks to tie the series at 1-1.
Al Jefferson has been killing me so far. In Game2 he had 36 pts and 9 rebounds, and was 15-24 from the floor.
Decided to take an interesting approach to playing my playoff matchups...
Instead of playing every game, I'm going to SIM games up to either (1) A series clinching game or (2) Series elimination game.
For instance, I've simmed my Utah/Mavs matchup to game6 where Utah has a 3-2 lead, is at home to try and clinch the series, and move on to play the Thunder in the qtr finals. If I win, I play the next game as well, Game 7 in Dallas.
If I had gone up 3-0, I'd play game 4 [hopefully win] and move to the next round. If I lost Game 4, I would keep on playing every game in the series because every game after that is a series clinching game.
Now if I was to be down 0-3, I would have to do the impossible. Which would make it all the more fun and really put a great emphasis on playing near perfect basketball for 4-straight games. I'm thinking that when/if I make it to the Finals, I'll probably play every game just because it's such a luxury to be there.
So again....to recap my current Mavs playoff matchup: Dallas is once again looking down the barrell of a round 1 exit, and having finished w/ the best record in the league, to only be sitting in an elimination game in round 1, I find oddly realistic...but very disappointing.
If I lose and get bounced out the playoffs I may dismantle the Mavs, leaving Beaubois, Barea, Chandler, and Jason Terry as the only remaining Mavs.
As it stands I'm in the middle of Game 6. I saved the game after halftime because P90X has been kicking my arse, and I needed to get rest. I'm up 57-47 on the Jazz heading into the 2nd half.
Here's to hoping I can pull out a game6 victory, take this series back to Dallas, and move on to the 2nd round; where I'll likely get bounced by the Thunder
.

Good luck on the series. Sucks having such a great record all year and then getting sent home in the first round. It's nice and realistic but it's frustrating.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
In game6 thus far, I've managed to do a much better job of getting to the line. I've gotten to the line 21 times in the 1st half, and have gotten Jefferson, AK47, and Deron into foul trouble. With that said though I've only managed a 10pt lead, and my 3pt shooting has been horrible...when in the reg. season I was one of the top teams shooting from 3.
It really is. If I win and move on to the qtr finals, I'll play the Thunder, who in 3 reg. season matchups, I lost to all 3 times.Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment
