Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
ill have a update later. from now on rest of the season, iam going to play a full game, hoopscast a full game, and sim a full game, see how that goes, ill keep track of my wins and losses and stats on each thing, to compare, i hoopscasted the last 2 games so maybe ill sim the next one and play the one after and go from there, but ya iam now 10 under 500 its crazy to think with the team i have we are 10 games under 500, BUT ive been dealing with injuries all season, i wonder how many games have been missed total by just my starters let alone the whole team,
Iam not giving up,Youtube channel

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Every time I get a significant amount of years in an Association with my sim chises, around a certain point:
- Role players are signed to ridiculous contracts. 45 million over 4 years for two backup guards on the Cavs.
- No regard for the salary cap in free agency. Almost every team is over the hard cap. For instance, the Cavs are paying Evan Turner 70 mil over 4 years, Klay Thompson 60 mil over 4, Demetri Mcamey 45 mil over 4, another backup guard 45mil over 4, Tristian Thompson 80 mil over 5, and they signed Rudy Gay to a 5 year 87 million dollar deal. And this is with 94 ovr Kyrie Irving, 97 ovr Enes Kanter needing to be resigned, so they both went to free agency, and as well 92 ovr Harrison Barnes has one year left before he needs re-signing.
- Because every team is over the hard cap, no free agents get signed. Right now, LeBron, Kanter, and many more 80-90 overall players are sitting in free agency because no one can afford to sign them because of the ridiculous contracts the CPU gives out.
- Because of this, at a certain point your Association will freeze and you won't be able to advance, and all your hard work will be lost.
- Has happened to me multiple times in different associations.
I'm playing with CPU trades turned off until 2 weeks before the deadline, and I have trade override on (For making moves like Dwight to LA, CP3 to NY, Blake Griffin to ?, etc.). Not sure why this keeps happening.
I just re-downloaded the patch so we'll see if it makes a difference, but so far I've come to the conclusion that unless you control all 30 teams your association is screwed down the line, which is not something I want to do. I play Association mode for the enjoyment of building a champion, not having to monitor the rest of the league so that I can build a champion.Ohio State Buckeyes | Carolina Panthers | Charlotte Hornets | Cincinnati RedsComment

I don't trust the CPU to make "smart" decisions for themselves. I handle everything from the draft, to free agency to the rotations for all the NBA teams... Its actually helped get more "into" my association as I know what each team is trying to do when I'm building their team. I know what they "need" in FA and the Draft and its actually more fun than I was expecting. I thought it was going to be a pain to handle "everything" but honestly, I don't think I can go back to only controlling one team after playing this way.
I recommend you give it a shotComment

Just edit the contracts of those role players... pretty sure you can still do that if ya only controlling one team.AJ Stuart M25 Career Dynasty- http://www.operationsports.com/wolvesjr34/dynasty/Comment

It just gives the whole franchise a more well rounded feel and it keeps things interesting. For example, I saw around January, the Heat needed a new SG to come off the bench due to Mike Miller picking up a bad injury so I signed Michael Redd to be a role player on the bench. The guy lit it up off the bench finishing the season with around 11.0PPG and now the Heat bench looks a lot more dangerous with Redd/Miller/Haslem all coming in. Nice to see a move I made for a team working out wellNFL - Giants]

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
I think I'm just gonna try controlling all 30... I mean I've only got a month or two left playing this game at most, might as well give it a shot and see how I like it for next year haha.Last edited by Sportsbuck; 06-13-2011, 02:10 PM.Ohio State Buckeyes | Carolina Panthers | Charlotte Hornets | Cincinnati RedsComment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Bulls
My team just can't seem to avoid injuries. Rose, Noah, Boozer, Brewer, and Thomas have all got injured at some point in the first two months of the season.
Anyway, I was playing the Nets. It was Noah's first game healthy since his injury, well in the 2nd quarter Boozer is going up for a WIDE OPEN uncontested board and lands awkwardly on his foot. Severe ankle sprain; 2-4 weeks out.
I ended up losing that game to now put my Bulls at a disappointing 18-13.
I decided that this was enough and a change must be made. With Taj in the starting lineup for boozer, I decided to put Ronnie Brewer at the starting 2 for Bogans who wasn't giving me anything.
My rotation looks like this:
PG: Rose
SG: Brewer
SF: Deng
PF: Gibson
C: Noah
6th: Korver
7: Bogans
8: Watson
9: Asik
10: Thomas
11: Butler
12: Scalabrine
R: Booz (injured)

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
My Association's In it's 2ND year. In the 1st Year, I started my Quest to Have All Young Player Championship. I Made 7th Seed In the West with the Sacramento Kings. But Unfortuantely, I Was Swept By The Amazing Nugget team which had made a Trade for Marion. But this Year, I Plan to Make A Better Go at it. I've Made A Few Trades and This is My Lineup:
PG S.Curry
SG T.Evans
SF W.Chandler/Caron Butler (They Basically Split)
PF Taj Gibson
C Noah
And THIS is My Bench
PG Hinrich
PG Toney Douglas
SF Casspi
SF Korver
C Whiteside
PF Sean Williams
Thoughts? Any Trades I Should Make?
This Year, I Believe I'm 34-23 At the Moment. At... 4th or 5th Seed,
DO you think I'll Get Playoff Berth And What seed will I be and How Far will I Get?You Mad Bro?Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
I agree, my SF is my weak spot. I don't really have the assets right now to make a move, so I'm going to ride with this until I find something that may be of interest. In the meantime, I'm going to keep Miller as a transition three type guy. Just need him to spot up. The brunt of my work goes through Wall and Bosh, with S. Jax coming through with the mid range game. I'll definitely be evaluating my SF position though in the off-season, and throughout the season.Follow me on Twitter@DrewGarrisonSBNComment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
You Should Try Trade Finder. There's always 1 That's Good. I'm in the Same Position that your in, But Instead it's my Power Forward Depth. Taj Gibson Really isn't the Best guy to have STARTING! Who are PF's In the 70's that I should try Pursueing? You Mad Bro?Comment
