Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

I'm using the 2001-2002 rosters and am going to replay T-Mac's career as if he never was injury prone (raised his durability to 90).

    Game 1: Magic 81, Wizard 74

T-Mac dueled with MJ the entire game. T-Mac drops 30 with 6 rebounds and 6 assists, along with a steal on 50% shooting. Michael Jordan drops 27 with 7 rebs and 1 assist on 13-24 shooting.

Honorable mentions to richard hamilton scoring 22 in this game as well, but no one else scored in double digits for the wizard.

    Game 2: Magic 84, Heat 58

T-mac yet again goes off, scoring 20 of our 27 1st quarter points and finishing with 31, 2 rebs, 9 assists, 2 steals, and 4 blocks. (Didn't play much in the 2nd half because of the blowout)

For the heat, eddie jones scored 20 but was very inefficient, and alonzo mourning scored 16 on 7-14 shooting, but only had 3 rebs.

Honorable mention to horace grant, who scored 8 points while grabbing 12 boards and blocking 3 shots.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

In an idea to make the game a little more fresh I decided I'd start an association with some of the teams shifted into different divisions/conference where it makes sense. I also put the Thunder Roster on the Sonics and The Hornet Roster on The Thunder so we have the Original Sonics and the Original OKC Thunder, no Hornet team in this 'chise, was thinking about doing an all states one and brining the Raptors to the Hornets though. Anyway, this is how my divisions line up, let me know what you think.

Teams changing Division - WAS, TOR, OKC/NO, MEM, DEN, UTA, MIL, DET

Teams changing Conference - OKC/NO, MEM, MIL, DET

      Atlantic
      Philadelphia 76ers
      Boston Celtics
      New York Knicks
      New Jersey Nets
      Washington Wizards

      Central
      Toronto Raptors
      ChicagoBulls
      Cleveland Cavaliers
      Indiana Pacers
      Oklahoma City Thunder (Hornets Roster)

      Southeast
      Memphis Grizzlies
      Orlando Magic
      Miami Heat
      Charlotte Bobcats
      Atlanta Hawks

      Southwest
      Utah Jazz
      Denver Nuggets
      Dallas Mavericks
      Houston Rockets
      San Antonio Spurs

      Northwest
      Milwaukee Bucks
      Seattle Supersonics
      Detroit Pistons
      Minnesotta Timberwolves
      Portland Trail Blazers

      Pacific
      Los Angeles Clippers
      Los Angeles Lakers
      Sacramento Kings
      Phoenix Suns
      Golden State Warriors

Basically it gives a nice change of pace and shakes up the whole league. You get all the old Sonics rivalries with Portland and LA. You'll get a nice new rivalry budding between Milwaukee, Minnesota and Detroit all being so close together. The Southwest has a host of teams in a small square space which provides for good rivalries. Biggest of all The Thunder (Hornets) bring a nice challenger to the Bulls to the Central while the Grizzlies bring a tough, balanced playoff team to the southeast to take on the Heat, Magic and Hawks, both are above average teams out West who should help even the playing field in terms of conference vs conference.

      POINTS OF INTEREST
This whole thing is also kind of a parody of a sim league, being so I removed Yao Ming upon his retirement so I wouldn't have to deal with him and his max contracts destroying the Rockets. Also, with all the new cyberfaces being found it's giving even more flexibility for Association by adding in other players who either just retired or are active overseas, another slight parody I've made is the idea that Rasheed decided to stay active for 10-11 and that landed Shaq in Miami with the Big 3.

      Some notes on Season 1

Lakers over Heat in the NBA Finals, 4-1 *** kicking. Kobe obtains 3rd finals MVP and 2nd 3peat, LeBron wins MVP but continues his quest for a ring.

Steve Nash, Shaquille O'Neal, Jason Kidd, Big Z all retired. There may have been a few more but those were the big names. Celtics are able to keep the nucleus together for another year.

Wizards drew number 1 in the lottery and after securing Kyrie Irving immediately begin reviewing offers to move him before settling on sending Irving and Kevin Seraphin to Toronto for Jerryd Bayless and Toronto's own 8th pick Klay Thompson, I think they should've tried to get a future first round pick with that, but meh.

Jay Z and Mikhail have done a good job getting the Nets back on their feet through Free Agency and the Draft in just one year, now D Will has a reason to stay at least.

PG - Deron Williams, Jordan Farmar
SG - JR Smith, Sasha Vujacic, Anthony Morrow
SF - Caron Butler, Travis Outlaw, Damion James
PF - Tristan Thompson, JaJuan Johnson, Brandan Wright
C - Brook Lopez, Jordan Williams

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

I just recently started a Cav association, trying to rebuild from the shocking after effects of "The Decision". I made moves straight away shipping out people like Antawn Jamison, Alonzo Gee and others for Richard Jefferson, Gary Neal and Antonio McDyess. I wanted to put JJ Hickson in his natural position of PF so i really needed a SF and Jamison wasnt really working for me. I tried my luck early in the year and aquired 1st round 2011 draft picks from 2 week teams and one mediocre team. I simmed the year and it turned out i came 7th seed in the west. I was up against the 2nd seeded Celtics, whom i had lost the very first match of the year against, y 40 points. They ended up winning the series 4-1 with Cavs, winning the first game. Another good sign is that JJ hickson won most improved with 18 PPG and 9 RPG.
It was finally draft lottery day and i had picked out the 1st 3rd and 5th pick! as well as the 16th pick. I chose Kyrie Irving as the first pick, to hopefully lead my franchise for the next decade. i needed a solid SG as i had waived Anthony Parker but there was not much in the draft so i chose Brandon Knight as the 3rd pick, to play the role of starting SG. For the fifth pick i chose a solid center in Enes Kanter. Nikola Mirotic and Lavoy Allen were also chosen in the draft.
The start of the season was a sucsessful one with Brandon Knight putting up 32 points 5 rebounds and 7 dishes and irving recording a double double, 18 points and 10 assists.
The Cavaliers have won all of their five games played and the three op 5 rookies have ben fantastic!
Here are the stats leaders for the Cavs.

        Points
        B.Knight: 24.4
        K.Irving: 21.0
        R.Jefferson: 16.3

        Assists
        K.Irving: 8.2
        B.Knight: 4.2
        R.Sessions: 3.6

        Rebounds
        E.Kanter: 6.6
        J.J.Hickson: 6.2
        R.Jefferson: 5.3

        Here is the line up.

        PG K.Irving 78
        SG B.Knight 72
        SF R.Jefferson 76
        PF J.J.Hickson 78
        C E.Kanter 75
        6 R.Sessions 77
        7 A.Varajeo 72
        8 A.McDyess 67
        9 D.Jordan 66
        10 J.J.Barea 68
        11 R.Foye 69
        12 G.Neal 65
        Res. R.Gomes 64
        Res. L.Allen 64
        Res. N.Mirotic 63

Thanks for reading guys. Advice and feedback would be great

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Not sure how we pulled it off, but we beat OKC 4-1 to win our 4th straight championship! I was expecting the Thunder to put up more of a fight but our team defense and balanced offense continued to give them trouble just as it had in the past 3 finals series. Tyreke won his 4th straight finals MVP averaging 24 points, 5 boards and 6 dimes for the series. Being that Reke also won his 3rd consecutive regular season MVP this is quite an accomplishment for him.

Now comes the hard part.....my backup center Samuel Dalembert is retiring and now i'm heading into the offseason where its looking like we are going to lose Lin and Speights to free agency because we simply don't have the cap room to resign them with Evans and Turner both having max contracts.

I'll let you guys know how it goes

Edit: in the 2016 draft I took a 6'11 center named Darin Simpson out of Indiana State with the 30th pick and then the Boston Celtics traded me their 2016 2nd round pick(#1) for my 2017 first round pick and with that pick I took a 6'4 SG/SF named Mike Hill from Cincinatti.....We also had the last pick of the 2nd round and with that pick I took a 7'0 PF named Eddie Baxter out of Wyoming so I guess the 2016 draft was a pretty good one for us as I was able to grab 2 big men who should help bolster the front court with the retirement of Samuel Dalembert.

In FA, somehow I resigned Marreese Speights and Jeremy Lin with each getting 3 year deals worth about 30 mil each so we had more cap room than I initially thought....due to having too many players on the roster I was unable to resign Jodie Meeks and since he was commanding big money which I didn't think he deserved due to his role, I decided not to pursue him.

So pretty much the entire team is still together so heading into the 2017 season I have high hopes once again that we will come away with another championship.

For my OKC association, I am going with a new look smaller rotation.

I did a 3-team trade that was posted in the 'Rate my Trade' thread, and that landed me DJ Augistine, and Hasheem Thabeet in exchange for Eric Maynor, Cole Aldrich, Thabo, and an '11 1st rounder via the Rockets. I am going to be using this lineup

              PG: DJ Augistine, Nate Robinson

              SG: Russel Westbrook

              SF: Kevin Durant, James Harden

              PF: Serge Ibaka, Nick Collison

C: Kendrick Perkins, Hasheem Thabeet, Nazr Muhammed

What do you think of this team?

Looks good, I'd have James Harden as my utility guy playing 1-3, possibly try and grab a shooter if you can.

I did just that. I signed Kelenna Azubukie to a 1 year 3million contract with a team option. He can light it up

                      Heading into offseason with Nuggets:

                      PG- Ty Lawson, Jarret Jack

                      SG- Arron Afflalo, J.R. Smith

                      PF- Kevin Love, Chris "Birdman"Anderson

C- Nene, Kosta Koufos, Timofey Mosgrov

Due to many many many trades I have acquired the #2 pick in the draft. Wilson Chandler's contract is up and he's asking me for some insane $66 mil/ 5 year deal . Im kind of a cheap scape and I would only shell out this kind of money to a proven superstar. Although Chandler has been great this past season, he's not the best defender and he has an inconsistent outside shot.

Now Im wondering now that if I should sign the deal and work on Chandler in training and trade the #2 pick for a lottery pick next year, or should I let him walk and use the pick to draft Derrick Williams and develop him? I'll play him as a SF and he has a great outside shot and is a beast inside. Could anyone who has played with Derrick Williams or Wilson Chandler give me some tips?

Starting another Association with the Detroit Pistons. Their lineup is basically
Full of guys that will retire in 5 Years or so, So I hoped to trade them away for young folk.
                        PG L.Williams/TJ Ford
                        SG J.Terry/K.Azabuike/Mike Miller/A.Morrow
                        SF P.George/D.James/Daye
                        PF J.Smith/J.Powell
                        C Greg Monroe/Pryzbilla
I think my only good backups are at PG, SG and SF. I tried trading away some of my SG depth, but was unable to. The only good player I kept is G.Monroe, hes amazing! Should I do any trades and is it a Pretty good lineup?

I figured I would give everyone a recap so far of my New Jersey Nets/Brooklyn New Yorkers association that I have been doing. Originally I used the create a team feature to make the Brooklyn New Yorkers but playing the games just seemed weird, the crowd wasn't into the game and the commentary just seemed missing so I just stuck with using the Nets but theoretically they will become the Brooklyn New Yorkers for the 1012 season. Currently I just passed the trade deadline of my 2nd season so I will give a recap of what has happened so far.

At the start of the first season I traded Thabeet and made him my backup center behind Lopez. I was then part of a 3 team trade that sent Humphries to the raptors and somebody the magic and in return I received Bargnani from the raptors. I decided to make him my starting PF and I home to develop him into a really solid player. I started the season off terribly losing Deron Williams for 6 weeks and Barg for 3 weeks so I think I only won like 5 games in that stretch, 2 of them coming from the Magic lol. I finished the first season going 30-52. I signed Marco Belinelli and Sheldon Williams in FA and I got lucky with the draft lottery getting the 3rd pick in the draft behind Detroit and Sacramento and with that pick I was gonna take Irving or Williams but they both got drafted so I went with who I thought was the best player available and that was Kemba. I'm hoping I can use him as trade bait later on to get a superstar but so far i'm not getting any offers I like. I also made a trade during the draft giving me a 2nd round pick for that draft and next years draft and with that I took David Lighty and then with my 2nd round pick I took Malcolm Thomas.

To start my 2nd season I made two trades getting rid of Outlaw and farmar who had a high contracts and also Morrow who is inconstant and terrible defensively. In return I gained Gerald Henderson and Diop from the Bobcats and Omri Casspi from the kings. Currently In my 2nd season I am 21-40. But now I have enough room to sign a top FA in the offseason.

In the 2017 season, we finished the regular season 69-13 we went into the playoffs as the #1 seed once again and pretty much swept through the playoffs defeating the Bulls 4-2 and the sweeping Miami in the 2nd round and sweeping NY in the ECFs rematch from the previous season......to my suprise the top seeded OKC Thunder went down 4-2 to the Portland Trailblazers out West and this time our finals opponent was the young, upstart Phoenix Suns.....Outside of Derrick Williams, the Suns were no match for our high octane offense and smothering defense and we defeated them 4-1 with Tyreke Evans winning his 5th straight finals mvp award....The Evans trade was the best thing to ever happen to this team and i'm very proud to say i've won 5 straight NBA titles and Evans has won 4 straight regular season MVP awards as well.

On to the offseason and the 2018 season to see if we can win 6 straight titles.....The upcoming season is a contract year for Tyreke so if possible i'll try to resign him during the season.

                              Alright, Just scratch off the Lineup I gave you, This is my KINGS All new State of the Art Lineup, tell me what ya think;
                              PG J.Holiday, K.Hinrich
                              SG T.Evans, K.Azabuike
                              SF C.Anthony, C.Delfino
                              PF T.Thompson(that #4 Guy in the draft)R.Anderson
C Valuniceas(or whatever the guy who went to Toronto's Name is ) Whiteside
Only ones I remember I think I have a Pretty stable and overall OK team. This game values D.Cousins alot so just throwing him with a 1st rounder allowed me to pick up Superstar Melo. I may be kind of weak at 3PT, Melo, Delfino, Azabuike and Hinrich seem to be the only ones who can drain them once in a while. The 2 young rookies from the draft are working out ok. But ha to Sacrifice my Old Thompson.

                              Kings Send:
                              Thompson(75)
                              Bucks Send:
                              8th Pick
                              Al Harrington(74)
That pick ended up being T.Thompson. Then I had my pick I had got from the Cavs, which was a 9th Pick. I needed a Center due to Dalembert wanted to test FA. Kemba was part of the Avaiables but. Knee Evans and Azabuike were just fine the way they were .
                              So what do you think?
                              You Mad Bro?

I just started an association with Sacramento Kings and I simmed the first seasons.

I finished with a 30-52 record which was worse/good enough(depends on your point of view) to recieve the 3 pick in the draft. So I had the 3 pick and 34 pick of the draft.

I selected Enes Kanter from Turkey and Jajuan Johnson from Purdue. I also Traded Donte Greene and Hassan Whiteside for Klay Thompson(who was selected by the Hornets).

In Free Agency I signed Tracy McGrady to a 1 year/$6.53M deal with a player option and Carlos Arroyo to a 1 year/$1.45M deal

So this is my 2011-2012 Roster

                                PG:Beno Udrih/Carlos Arroyo
                                SG:Tyreke Evans(who is injuried with a torn MCL for 4-6 months /Tracy McGrady/Klay Thompson
                                SF:Omri Casspi/Francisco Garcia
                                PF:Jason Thompson/Jajuan Johnson
                                C: Demarcus Cousins/Enes Kanter/Samuel Dalembert

About to start my first game of the season
