Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
I am trying to work the rosters to where I simulate the free agent signing period that is skipped if you start an association with the post draft rosters. Here is my question. What contracts do you think would be given to the following guys?
David West
Carl Landry
Tyson Chandler
Jamaal Crawford
K-Mart
T. Prince
J. Rich
I just want thoughts on what salary these guys would expect to make and what time frame they would expect to have when signing. The game is trying to make them content with the MLE which is super but not realistic.
Thanks in advance for any input! The way to build a good team is not to load it with star players, but to load it with players who play well together with an identity

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Just drafted for the Bobcats, serpentine, starting with the 12th pick and here's my roster:
PG - Nate Robinson
SG - Ray Allen
SF - Rudy Gay
PF - Kevin Love
C - Ben Wallace
6 - Nick Young
7 - Brandon Bass
8 - Brandon Rush
9 - Antonio McDyess
10 - Omri Casspi
11 - Ryan Anderson
12 - Shaun Livingston
Res. - Dan Gadzuric
I'm only two games in, but I'm 2-0 despite playing on a difficulty that usually crushes me every game. That AND the game ranks my DEF #8, OFF #29, OVR #23. I feel like my offense is nasty and I've been beasting with RayRay. Anyone else think the rating is unfair?
Also, I'm strongly considering doing a three-way deal that results in the following gains:
Bobcats (me): Carmelo Anthony & Taj Gibson
Mavericks (giving melo): Rudy Gay & Will Bynum
Jazz (giving gibson/bynum): Kevin Love
I think this deal could put me over the top. Thoughts?DALLAS 2011 MAVERICKS

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
I'm just trying to make my way through the playoffs - third year with the Suns. Made some massive trades last season and picked up Gerald Wallace and Andre Igoudala. With Nash and Warrick, the starting 5 is solid with a 60-22 regular season.
Oh, and I'm going for a three-peat. Right now I'm in Game 4 of the first round vs the Utah Jazz, they're leading 2-1.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Playing with the Heat, currently about halfway though year 2.
In year 1, I didn't make a trade until the offseason. I won the championship, so I had the last pick in the first round.
Traded out of the draft. Phoenix wanted my first round pick and Patrick Beverley (I believe he was at 64 overall) for their 2012 second round pick and 2013 first round pick. Made that trade.
Later in the draft, Minnesota came at me with their 2013 first round pick in exchange for My 2 2nd round picks (Phoenix's and mine). Made that trade.
Free agency comes. I let Bibby, House, Big Z go. Re-signed Chalmers and James Jones.
Only had the MLE available because of the Big 3, so I was limited in FA. In late January 2013, I was perusing the news and saw that Shannon Brown was on the trading block. He was in Charlotte (forget how).
I send:
Mike Miller (70 ovr, 25% happiness)
Miami Heat 2013 1st rd pick
Miami Heat 2012 2d rd pick
to Charlotte for
Shannon Brown (75 ovr, 40% happiness)
Coincidentally, in Brown's debut game, Chalmers went down with a shoulder separation (2-4 weeks). My lineup now looks like:
PG Wade (99) (usually it's Chalmers [78], with Wade at SG and Brown as SM)
SG Brown (76)
SF James (99)
PF Haslem (71)
C Bosh (89)
sixth man - Troy Murphy
Andre Miller
Joel Anthony
James Jones
Peja Stojacavic
A rookie FA, his name escapes me, but he's got an 86 3 point rating and 82 speed, so he's the 11th man. Peja is usually inactive as he's rated at something ridiculous like 58.
I'm 35-7 at this point. Some people don't enjoy winning all that much, but the games are challenging, and I know after the Big 3 leave, I'll have some rebuilding to do. I've heard that Lebron and Bosh almost always leave via free agency. Excited to see how that shakes out.
The Suns have easily the worst record in the NBA, something I didn't really foresee when I made the trade. So I've probably got a top 3 pick on my hands. I'm thinking of drafting a true center. I'm using regular game-created draft classes, and I've got my eye on a couple.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Mavericks are 3-0, but are a band-aid brigade so far with injuries.
Kidd, Terry, Rudy, Barea, Butler are all Out with injuries suffered in the first game. Right now I'm trotting out:
PG: Beaubois (69)
SG: Jones (69)
SF: Marion (77)
PF: Dirk (93)
C: Chandler (80)
With only Haywood (71), Stevenson (71), Brewer (70), Mahinmi (63) and Cardinal (56) on the bench.
Needless to say, Dirk's been needing to play almost 40MPG and has scored over 40 for the past two games. Beaubois and Jones are the only two ballhandling guards on the roster, and frankly they both belong in the D League right now. Can't wait to get my boys back so I can get Dirk some rest.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Traded Pau Gasol for Kevin Love first year; rolled with that to the finals as well as some other trades. Got the NBA Championship and now I'm in the second year and I have this as my starting 5:
PG - Monta Ellis
SG - Kobe Bryant
SF - Gerald Wallace
PF - David Lee
C - Kevin Love
Bench - Kyrie Irving, Dorrell Wright, Jodie Meeks, Antonio Daniels, Charlie Bell, Erick Dampier, and Norris Cole.
Everything was done legitimately with salary cap on. No force trade or whatever. The Lake Show is back for years to come!My Teams:
NBA - Los Angeles Lakers
MLB - St. Louis Cardinals
NFL - Green Bay Packers
NHL - New Jersey Devils
NCAA BB - North Carolina Tar Heels

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Ended up going back to back. Now starting year 3. Phoenix's pick ended up being the #2 pick. With that I picked up a 7 ft 255 lb 81 overall PF and converted him to center. He's an 80 center.
Free agency was interesting. All the major free agents stayed in place (For now, as it was just player options for Dwight CP3, DWill, Rose etc).
My roster pre-free agency was:
Chalmers (81)
Wade (99)
Lebron (99)
Bosh (89)
Rookie C (80)
Shannon Brown (79)
Udonis Haslem (69)
Troy Murphy (68)
Owens (forgot his first name, 67 - generic free agent with 86 3pt, now 91)
Joel Anthony 58
Saw that Steve Nash (78) was a free agent and offered him up the mid-level exception (5.76 mill) and he took it over an offer from the Mavs (didnt want to go back I guess :P). So I've got him as the backup pointguard getting about 20 mins a night. Played one preseason game and WOW, what an awesome. Nash is fun to use. 16 points, 4 assists, 4 rebounds.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Started with the Wizards
After Season 1 i used the second and third overall picks on Derrick Williams and Jonas Valcinuas (sp?). I traded Valcinuas for James Harden and the 20th overall pick which got me a project PF. I also had quite a first rounders for 2012
At the beginning of season 2 i traded James Harden as part of a great deal for some more picks in the future. We ended up with the worst record and the first overall pick, the ninth, and the 21st. I then traded up to the second and I got Harrison Barnes, Austin Rivers and a good PF prospect. I also signed Brook Lopez to be my center.
My team made the playoffs off of the great play I had from Wall and Lopez. In the offseason I traded Brook Lopez, my young PF from last year and spare parts for Blake Griffen and the 12th overall also having the first from Charlotte and the 10th. I used those to get Andre Drummond, a combo guard and a PF/C prospect. I topped it off by using most of my remaining salary cap room to sign Brandon Jennings.
My lineup and still developing (Years Pro in Parantheses), Starters in Bold
PG: John Wall 94 (4)
PG: Ray McCallum 70 (2)
PG/SG: Brandon Jennings 88 (5)
SG/PG: Austin Rivers 78 (2)
SG/PG: Jordan Dumars 68 (R)
SG/SF: Stephen Jackson (14)
SF/SG: Harrison Barnes 86 (2)
SF/PF: Derrick Williams 86 (3)
PF: Dwight Powell 72 (R)
PF/C: Blake Griffen 93 (4)
C/PF: Andre Drummond 81 (R)
C/PF: Jeff Foster 58 (14)
Entering 2013-2014 Season were looking good for the present but im really excited for the future for this team.
Just saw my main competition, the 76ers have also been having good drafts
Jrue Holliday, Evan Turner, Shabazz Mohammed, Enes Kanter with a solid veteran core around them.Last edited by USCstreets; 08-07-2011, 10:25 PM.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Knicks 2011 Association
So I'm having a amazing association going with DurtySoufReppin's updated rosters and Yellz' sliders. So far I've played 33 games of a 82 game season and played every single game. First off let me inform everyone of notable free agency moves.
Free Agency
Yao Ming - Celtics
Greg Oden - Pistons
Carl Landry - Pacers
Allen Iverson - Nuggets
Stephon Marbury - Mavs
Kenyon Martin - Nets
Vince Carter - Bucks
Wilson Chandler - Warriors
JR Smith - Cavs
Jamal Crawford - Hawks
JJ Barea - Jazz
Tracy McGrady - Knicks
Although all of these FA were signed for the MLE, I didnt mind since I love that they all went to teams where they filled holes immediately. I signed Tmac to play the role of 6th man.
Knicks 2011 Lineup
PG - Billups (79), Douglas(70)
SG - Fields(72), Walker(63), Rautins(60)
SF - Melo (89), Tmac(74), Shumpert(65), Balkman(65)
PF - STAT(88), Shawne Williams(66)
C - Turiaf(69), Josh Harrellson(60)
Progress so far
Currently 19-14 through 33 games. The season started out shaky as Toney Douglas got injured in my third game and Carmelo injured in my fourth game against the Magic. But a new hero rose, TMac went on a scoring frenzy when given the staring job in place of Melo, went 3-6 in that run. Unfortunately TMac would go down with a injury also in Mid-November , but Melo came back two games after. After going 3-2 after Melo's return (Douglas game back 2 games after Melo), the Knicks would go on a 9 game winning streak in early December which including beating both the Celtics and Heat who were number 1 and 2 in the conference(at the time). Melo would go to suffer a severe ankled in the 4th quarter of the Heat game. I ending up losing what would have been my 10th straight win to the Cavs of all teams, TMac got injured within 3 minutes of the game but luckily only missed that game. I then went 2-2 in the next 4 games against teams that are above .500. Won against the Thunder & Magic and lost against the Bulls & Heat. The new year is here and my next game is against the 19-12 Pacers.
Standings
East - 1. Bulls (25-7)
2. Celtics (23-8)
3. Heat (25-10)
4. Pacers (19-12)
5. Knicks (19-14)
6. Nets (17-17)
7. Magic (17-17)
8. Bucks (14-17)
9. Hawks (15-21)
West - 1. Mavs (23-9)
2. Thunder (24-11)
3. Lakers (20-13)
4. Suns (18-13)
5. Spurs (19-14)
6. Kings (17-13)
7. Rockets (18-14)
8. Warriors (17-16)
9. Jazz (17-17)
Team Evaluation
- Billups : Very dependable player, there are times where he is lights out in scoring and times where he just disappears, racks up the assists. Can't hold his own against the Derrick Roses and Rondos of the league. 14.6 ppg 9.7 apg 2.5 rpg .390fg%
- Fields : He has completely disappeared for me, just doesnt knock down shots, defense is average. 8.9ppg .365fg% .2823p%
- Melo : He is a animal when it comes to scoring, I can score with ease. Has become a awesome 3 point shooter for me, that shot sig is butter. Missed a total of 15 games out of 33 so far, needs to stay on the court! 26.2ppg 8.2rpg .494fg% .4473p%
- STAT : He is the workhorse of the team, he's the one who constantly produces night in and night out despite injury. Currently the 4th highest scorer in the NBA and has really improved on rebounnding, making a progress on defense. This is HIS TEAM! 28.9ppg 11.7rpg 1.6apg
1.1spg 1.5bpg .568fg%
- Turiaf : He has really stepped his game up on defense but constantly gets in foul trouble. 6.7ppg 6.9rpg 1.9bpg
- TMac : Has found his game again, doing a excellent job filling Carmelo's shoes but has missed 13 of the 33 games so far. 22.2ppg 5.2rpg 2.2apg 1.0spg .470fg% .3523p%
- Douglas, Shawne Williams, Bill Walker - They are excellent bench players, can score in double digits at any time, doesnt hurt they are great 3 point shooters also.
Thoughts
Carmelo needs to stay healthy! As great as TMac is, we need Melo's scoring if we want to keep up the conference power houses, TMac was brought in to be a 6th man.We really need a Center, as good as Turiaf is, he just isn't the guy that will help the team win a chip. My secret weapon is Chauncey Billups with his expiring contract of 14.02Mil, but I'm hesitate to move him since that will leave a hole at point guard. Laundry Fields could prove to be good trade bait as I see his time with Knicks coming to a close.Last edited by Steven123; 08-08-2011, 01:57 AM.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Just decided to do a Fantasy Draft Association with the Orlando Magic...never really done a fantasy draft in any sports game.
Here's my team:
PG - Russell Westbrook(88)/JJ Barea(69)
SG - Ray Allen(81)/JJ Redick(66)/Kyle Korver(65)
SF - Michael Beasley(80)/Michael Pietrus(72)/Daniel Green(63)
PF - Serge Ibaka(76)/Channing Frye(68)/Ryan Anderson(65)
C - Marcin Gortat(75)/Shelden Williams(61)
I'm gonna play a few games with this squad before I make any moves...question, do you guys normally play all the games, or do you simulate? Normally I play all the games, but I rarely get a chance to finish a season(especially this year with me playing The Show and NCAA 12 at the same time)...what's your startegy in regards to finishing seasons and advancing?NCAA: Florida A&M Rattlers
NFL: Jacksonville Jaguars/Cincinnati Bengals
NBA: Orlando Magic
MLB: Atlanta BravesComment
