Six minutes into the third the worst thing that could of happened, happened: Boozer hit a mid-range jumper and when the defense was recovering they hit his hand and forced him to fall over. Boozer landed awkwardly on his back and couldn't get up. He had to leave the game and I was later informed he had a lower back strain and would miss 1 to 2 weeks.
Ouch... guess the Bulls depth will be tested from the jump. Good luck.

Nah...it's cool. I didn't take offense to anything you said. I understand its all relative to your franchise, and agree that within the 2K universe Gordon is a scoring machine and Charlie V is a much different player given his size and ability to score. I just think you have to counteract the AI's logic. I'm not opposed to you trading Gordon or Charlie V either, I just think you shouldn't have gone after Love. That you should've gone after expiring contracts...Troy Murphy, Peja, someone like that.

Well...as of now I can't tell if it did anything to the existing class in my association. Still some pretty high ratings, but maybe I just need to scout more and they will drop? Maybe the next season's class will be lower?

Exactly. He's an incredible bargain producing the way he is in only his 3rd year so he still has a yr of his rookie deal to go. Like I told poker...I'm not opposed to trading those two guys if there's a contending team that could use them, and move an expring deal...but to swing a deal like that w/ a young team like Minny? I just think that's not the way to go...in order to maintain integrity in your association.

I want to go ahead and make the jump to All Star before I get to many games in but I have not played a team like Boston/Mavs/Spurs as of yet and don't want to make the jump to All Star and realize that Pro/Sim was fine.

Overall I am just loving this game Post-Patch
I feel I'm in a similar situation, playing on Pro/Sim... My Bulls are 7-0 and we even blew out the Celtics. The CPU's shooting % are ridiculously low, like 30% for the game and they "cannot hit water falling out of a cliche" (<3 the commentary) from 3pt range. The last game, the Nuggets went like 3/20.

I am liking the Bulls roster, but I feel it's too heavy in the PF position. Kurt Thomas has a broken finger for 6-8 weeks but can play (rating dropped for 56) which I thought would solve my issue for the short term but he is complaining about not playing enough...Thought this was fixed with the patch?

Think him and Bogans will be traded before the deadline, unless Bogans will be content with playing a few minutes off the bench.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Well like i thought i gave up on the wizards because iono i cant see myself building a team around a pg. i gave up on that team but my quest to make a big three still is the plan so that why i moved my talents to philly with iggy and the 76ers. i redid the whole team and traded everyone except for iguodala, holiday, young, brackins.

First move i did was trade elton brand, marreese speights to the kings for carl landry and samuel dalebert. this trade gave me alot of money bac for next season (so now i can play toget melo).

Second move was i traded louis williams, 2011 2nd round pick to th thunder for eric maynor and thier 2012 first round pick. Again this trade gave me more money for next season so yeah melo is my target.

My third move was trading spencer hawes, jason kapono, 2012 2nd round pick to the trailblazers for oden, and sean marks.

Now this trade is not realistic what so ever but this what i got from the knicks.
Knicks get: Evan Turner, Andres Nocioni, Darius Songaila
76ers get: Amare Stoudemire, Bill Walker, Roger Mason (traded to minny for gaines which i sent to the d-league), 2011 first round pick.

          free agents singing
          Mike harris to a 5year/ 8.10 deal
          Sean Williams 5yr/ 5.22 deal
          Daniel Green to a 5 year/ 6.12 deal
          Rafer Alston to a 5yr/ 9.60 deal
Garrett Temple to 5yr/ 4.86 deal

          My starting lineup

          Pg. Jrue Holiday
          Sg. Andre Iguodala
          Sf.Thadius Young
          Pf. Amare Studimire
          C. Greg Oden

          6th. Carl landry
          7th. rafer alson
          8th. Samuel Dalebert
          9th. Eric maynor
          10th. Bill walker
          11th. Craig Brackins
          12. Mike harris

          Bench
          13. Sean williams
          14. Daniel Green
          15. Garret temple

After the tranactions made i have 17.51 for next season and 11 players under contract. so the hunt for melo looks good for me right now

Just started over a new Association because of the patch and I'm 17-3 with the Heat on Hall of Fame/Sim. Lebron avg 38/9/6 D-Wade 28/5/3 and Bosh 17/10..only sliders I use are bumping my shot success down to 42 and CPU is at 45 and I bumped CPU quickness up to 70 so it's not so easy to go around them.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Aight, I started my Hornets franchise 2 nights ago, been a sub-par Hornets fan since the days of Zo Mourning & Muggsy Bogues. So why not.

My line up at the beginning was
              PG - Chris Paul
              SG - Marcus Thorton
              SF - Trevor Ariza
              PF - David West
              C - Emeka Okafor
              6th - Marco Belinelli
              Role - Jarrett Jack
              Role - Pops Mensah- Bonsu

After 29 games, I decided to trade Emeka Okafor & Marcus Thorton to the Jazz for Okur & 1st round pick.

Okafor had a downslide of his average only putting up 9.8 ppg with 11.2 rpg. Thorton disappointed me missing 6 game winning shots I depended on, with that said, I sent the Jazz a nice gift.

Jarret Jack made 6th man while Marco Belinelli started as SG.

Team didn't do too good at all only going 25-57

The following off-season I fired the ast. coach, hiring Same Cassell since he was the best they had to offer thus far.

Most of the players went to go test the free agent so there weren't any signs really to remember.

I won the #1 draft pick via Jazz, picking up Jake Turk (SG/SF), coming in at a 76 rtg. He's a immediate offensive superstar who's been putting up 24-25 ppg thus far, a real scoring machine, but lacks hard in the passing, ball handling, post game, defense, & rebound departments.

As soon as we hit the free agent pool, I went out the way to help Okur in the trenches by picking up some Rebounding vets, Erick Dampier, Nenad Kristic, & Louis Amundson. I also picked up Patrick Beverly as a back up pg, Alex Watson & Keith Bailey, both SF 3pt. shooters.

Year 2 begins and Okur was giving it his all putting up 18.5 ppg with 10.3 rpg, and I was happy until he was wanting too much time as he was already play 35 mpg. and Jarret Jack wasn't happy with 6th man, so 18 games later, Houston picked up Okur & Jack with 2nd round pick, giving me Yao Ming & Courtney Lee

              PG - Chris Paul
              SG - Jake Turk
              SF - Trevor Ariza
              PF - David West
              C - Yao Ming
              6th - Courtney Lee
              Role - Louis Amundson
              Role - Quincy Pondexter

This squad went to the playoffs winning the Western conference only to lost to the Hawks in a 4-1 five game series.

I went resigned David West & Courtney Lee while Paul picked up his player option.

I made a decision to trade Trevor Ariza to the Nuggets for J.R. Smith

Now in year 3 of the franchise, 20 games in, got trade a from the Spurs offering me Landry Fields for J.R. Smith

              PG - Chris Paul
              SG - Landry Fields
              SF - Jake Turk
              PF - David West
              C - Yao Ming
              6th - Courtney Lee
              Role - Louis Amundson
              Role - Keith Bailey

Right now, we're 29-15. My next game is against the Celtics (15-29) <- how ironic lol.

InsightChris Paul is wanting to re-sign for a 5 year, $125 million contract, that's leaving me with $4.7 million for FA. I'm contemplating on not re-signing him. any suggestions?)

You are totally forgetting about "The Wrath of Kahn" though. At this point, he's probably thinking about building around Darko and Rubio, so at least fleecing the Wolves is something done normally in regular existence.

You have made me think about resetting though, I just usually wait for Rashidi's rosters to do a league as close as possible to "real." I do think I gave up enough with Love's coach not being in love with him (and I really have to ask why Rambis doesn't like him, he's just like Rambis but 100% better) but I guess I will mess around with a new association. I just can't stand Ben and Charlie, and they will go for someone... but I guess maybe I'll just get an "older" player like maybe a Gerald Wallace or someone... or try to get a young, not-so-studly player to start the rebuilding process.

This is why I hate playing with my home team. I know what the Pistons SHOULD do to rebuild themselves into a contender, but that doesn't mean that it would ever happen. I definitely don't ever want people to think I'm "hosing" the CPU, as I've seen people grab Blake Griffin, who if anyone of youth is untouchable in this league - it's him.

I *DO* like this year's game mechanic with the trade finder however. If you use the "player finder" and sort by Potential, you can try to use the trade finder for like the first 15-20 guys and they will not find an acceptable deal (the first person I believe that you can get is Al Jefferson if I remember correctly.)

I might just have to play with another rebuilding squad, I think I'm just too tied to those players remaining from our "dynasty" (and yes, I do consider all of those Conference FInals and the one title pretty close to dynastic) - which clouds my thinking.

I don't know what to do really, but at least you've made me think.

Felt this deserved its own post as I tend to ramble...

When I start this new association, I will NOT use the normal downloaded class I use (I've been using the "ESPN Consensus" draft classes, as I see the person that makes them is quite dedicated and has done classes through 2015.) It's gonna take me a hell of a long time to get through 82 games to let you know if its worth doing, I think I'll go back and read the patch notes and see what exactly was supposed to be changed again.

Thanks for snapping me into reality, I don't think even stupid-*** David Kahn would trade Love at this point, even if his coach hates him.

Last game I played with 12 minute quarters I had 80 shots, the CPU had 83. 34 free throws. Do you run a play every time up court? I run a legit half court offense and the gameplay is great for me.

Checked all my box scores of played games... nothing alarming over here at ALL. It all depends on how you run, I guess.

This. If you like to run, you're going to have more field goal attempts than when running a half court offense.

OK, so I started over. I love the youthful player I get to build around, and I gave up enough to get what I got FOR SURE.

I signed a better NBA Scout this time around, a B/A stats, and he had Gordon as a 77 B Potential. Villaneuva was a 71 C+ Potential. I put them up and was offered Kenyon Martin - a 75 OVR who is 32 and thus has no further potential rating, and their first round selection in 11. I went to the trade screen to try to get an additional pick. Never expected it, except I guess they figure they will be that good and be able to keep Carmelo now with the additions, but they gave me their first rounder in 12 as well. SO summary of the initial deal I made preseason:

                              Detroit Sends:

Ben Gordon (SG) and Charlie Villaneuva (PF) to Denver for Kenyon Martin (PF) and 1st round picks in 2011 and 2012.

OK, so I got my expiring contract, and its not my fault that they undervalued their pick and I was diligent enough to ask for it.

Now, my personal feeling being a Detroit fan is the only player we have left from our championship core with true value is Tayshaun Prince, so he was always going to be the one I traded. His contract is expiring, he is not likely to resign in Detroit when we are mired in rebuilding. I put him and BOTH of Denver's selections that they traded me into the trade finder, and wound up with the following deal, again with Minnesota:

                              Detroit Sends:

Tayshaun Prince (SF) and Denver's 1st round selections in 2011 and 2012, along with Detroit's 1st round selection in 2012 to Minnesota for Wesley Johnson (SF) and Wayne Ellington (SG).

Sure, Johnson is going to be great. But as was pointed out to me, the team is building around Love (and Flynn, and Beasley - all who were offered in different scenarios for these players in trade finder) so getting Johnson and Ellington for Tayshaun and THREE 1st round picks, one that will nearly certainly be a high lottery pick (I have no starter above a 77, and a 67 will be starting) is certainly fair in my eyes.

I like Ellington more than I like Terrico White, especially since he is a B+ outside shooter and White is a C. According to the stars, but according to the roles or minutes that would not be met, I traded Terrico White and Austin Daye for Jeff Teague and Etan Thomas and the Hawks 2nd rounder in 11. Teague is still a prospect, but I can give him a few of Bynum's minutes easier than I can give up minutes from McGrady if I want them to stay happy or develop in the case of Ellington.

I will be making no further moves unless people complain about their roles or something of the like. I am $29.30M under the cap for the 11-12 season and $43.60M under for 12-13. Wesley Johnson was worth a first round pick to me, obviously - and I could make it fair with those two additional first rounders, and I still keep my entire 2011 draft, and a 2nd rounder in 2012. I will have a GAPING hole at PF that I will look to address in the draft, and by giving Jerebko extra minutes at both SF and PF, along with the veteran Maxiell.

So here will be my 2011 Detroit Pistons: Minutes/Role in Parentheses.

                              PG - Rodney Stuckey - 74 ovr (35/Starter)
                              SG - Richard "Rip" Hamilton - 77 ovr - (36/Starter)
                              SF - Wesley Johnson - 75 ovr (36/Starter)
                              PF - Kenyon Martin - 75 ovr (36/Starter)
                              C - Greg Monroe - 67 ovr (31/Starter)
                              6th - Ben Wallace (17/Sixth Man)
                              PG - Will Bynum/Jeff Teague 71/63 (8/5 - Role/Prospect)
                              SG/SF - Tracy McGrady/Wayne Ellington/Jonas Jerebko 73/61/66 (11/8/9)
                              PF - Jason Maxiell/Jerebko 71/66

Yup, the whole bench is getting minutes. Gotta try to find out who can hack who can't, and this year should be ROUGH. Gonna focus on developing Johnson and Monroe for the most part, with Stuckey in some drills.

                              Thanks for reading.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Started a Wizards association last night (58 game seasons), as John Wall is a blast to play with. Started by trading Gilbert and next years 1st rounder for Caron Butler (expiring) and Tyson Chandler (expiring). I figure Gil gives the Mavs the immediate scoring threat at the two guard to help out Nowitzki. I only wanted expirings to open up cap space for the offseason in hopes of landing Melo.

First season went alright for having such a poor roster overall. I didn't make the playoffs, but finished somewhere around 24-34. Wall progressed to an 88, Blatche moved up a few points, JaVale McGee went up a few points as well. I let Butler, Chandler, and a few more backups walk, while resigning Hinrich and a few others to extensions. I wound up winning the draft lottery from the #11 spot (!), drafting Tim Witt, a 79 OVR SG. He's a great defender, and a pretty legit threat on offense. He's nasty from beyond the arc. His only knock is being a little slow for the position, but he's a great finisher.

Things worked out great in free agency. I actually signed Melo to a 5 year max contract with a full no trade clause. I also picked up a couple reserves, including Troy Murphy, who gives me a matchup nightmare off the bench at PF or C.

As of now, my lineup is Wall (88ovr.), Witt (79ovr.), Melo (93ovr.), Blatche (77ovr.), and McGee (73ovr.). Hinrich comes in and splits time between point and the two, while Nick Young comes in for a few minutes a game at the two guard. Josh Howard and Al Harrington split minutes at SF behind Melo, although one of them will be getting there minutes cut depending on who performs better, as Melo will be getting 38-40 minutes a night. Murphy comes in for good minutes for Blatche and McGee, as he is very difficult to match up with on the perimeter.

First game of the season went great against the Bobcats, as I was victorious 100-78. Jackson was tough to stop, but Wallace was cold all game, so once I keyed in on Jackson, they had trouble scoring. Melo had a big debut with 30 points and 7 boards, 14 points off free throws. Wall shot very poorly from the field, but still contributed 15 points thanks to getting to the line almost at will, along with 7 assists. Blatche chipped in 14 and 6, while McGee hauled in 12 boards. Murphy was big off the bench with 12 points, including three straight 3 pointers to put me up double digits in the 3rd, where I never looked back.

Can't wait to get game 2 in today.
