Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

I just control one team as well. Normally, I don't turn trades on until January but, (so far) there hasn't been any trades in my Association and I'm in the first week of December. If trades start happening then I'll turn it off for a few weeks because I really don't want more than 10-15 trades per season.

Sometimes I wonder if controlling 30 teams is the way to go because I would like to help some teams out. For example, Evan Turner being upset with the 76ers. I'd like to go ahead and move Iggy so that he can get the PT he deserves. Also, the Clippers lost both their starting guards for a good chunk of the season but, they haven't made any moves to help with the situation. Perhaps it's because they aren't that good though so they're just going to make due with what they have. However, in the end I'm guess I'd rather just save time by only controlling my team, see what moves the A.I. GM's make and just be content living in an NBA Fantasy world.

Who knows, it might just be best for someone like me to control all 30 teams.
You could just automate 29 teams and roll with 1 specific team that's under your control.

That's what I plan on doing eventually. Just have to decide which team I'm going to use.

I personally don't and wouldn't use it. If the game doesn't accept the trade, then I figure it isn't a realistic or fair offer.

The only exception to using it IMO would be if it was a real life trade that wasn't being accepted by the CPU for whatever reason.

That's the same way I like going about my franchise, but it seems like the CPU AI still isn't where it should be. Or at least where I want it.

Things like the Suns trading Nash to the Celtics where he just ended up coming off the bench annoy me.

:o I'll probably just control all 30 teams with one being my main franchise. That sounds like the best choice right now.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

iam doing a 76ers francise and my last one messed up so i had to start over.

so far only trade i made was for greg oden and sean marks and thier secondround pick and i gave up Darius songaila, my 2012 second round pick and Spencer Hawes. i think thats fair because the 76ers need someone who can defend on the inside and the trailblazers get someone young in return.

Iam thinking of trading elton brand, louis williams to the kings for carl landry and samuel dalambert so i can get rid of brands and williams contract for the next year. if i do that trade i will end up having at the most 31million in cap room. Also iam goin trade nocioni to and if i trade him along with the others than i have 36million or 38 at the most in cap room next season.

my goal is to have a big three basically have them be the same age or around. in order for that to happen i am thinking of trading for amare, josh smith so i can have them with melo.

What do ya'll think? cause iam real close to getting amare or smith but mostly amare because i would give up alot like turner, brackins, speights and nocioni and take back amare and some bums.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

            Tallest 5 in NBA History??

            2nd year Pistons association.

Starting PG - Shannon Brown 6'4 (76 in)
Sixth man SG - Austin Daye 6'11 (83 in) subs in for RIP
Starting SF - Perry Jones 6'11 (83 in)
Starting PF - Charlie VEEEE!! 6'11 (83 in)
            Starting C - Greg Monroe 6'11 (83 in) (I have 7'1 K.Brown getting 8 min per)

That's 408 inches of height on the floor at the same time. No player is out of position. Brown is a SG/PG, Daye is a SF/SG and the other 3 are primary positions for the players.

I have my play book stacked with a ton of low post plays. I run %100 half court sets with plays and have fast break turned down and crash boards turned up.

I have 4 legit low post players on the floor with Daye, Jones, Charlie V, and Monroe. I'm always a mismatch at SG and SF, and Charlie V is a nightmare with his turn around jumpers. Monroe is a drop step south paw beast.

Perry Jones is a freak of nature. Dude is 6'11 and fly's to the hoop so silky smooth. I took Jones over Barnes in the draft and he's lived up to the expectations. Kid can do it all. He's Durant....only 2 inches taller. If you get the chance to draft Perry Jones, don't pass it up.

Association mode is so deep and there's so much to tweak and tune all the time, I can't see myself getting bored with it anytime soon.

When starting an Association, there's an option to Customize League. So, you just have to replace one of the existing team.s

I had a Knicks Association rolling, went 43-39 in my first season, lost in second round of playoffs to Miami Heat, but I ended up in cap hell, building my team around Josh Childress, who is butt ugly in this game.

So I decided to take a punt on the Nuggets and see if I can get 'Melo an MVP and a trip to the finals. So far, so good. He's averaging almost 40 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists over 14 games, getting the first four Player of the Week Awards. He dropped 58 on the Mavs in OT to go along with 12 rebounds and 8 assists.

I'm not too sure if I'm picking up the option on Billups. He's been getting very good assists, but his three point shooting has been awful. I'm thinking of picking up Aaron Brooks in free agency. What do you all think?

Man you shouldn't cheat like that, don't edit ratings. Wait to see if he comes onto the FA market, if not then obviously you gotta give up something very good for him. Feels better if you go legit.

Currently running with the Clippers. We are 9-7, good for 6th place in the West. The Bobcats are 13-2 and have the best record in the league.

I was 5-1 before Baron Davis got hurt but Eric Bledsoe has filled in more than nicely for Davis and I might trade Davis once he gets back. I traded Aminu for Hasheem Thabeet and a first rounder. I couldn't get anything going with Aminu and Randy Foye had passed him as the starter. I thought I could use another post player and took a chance with Thabeet as my 3rd post player.

Blake Griffin is an animal, put up 32 and 19 against Utah a couple games ago. He is averaging 17 points and 9 rebounds a game.

Just finished the All-star break with ORL 15-2 record [playing 29 games]. Won the Rookie challenge 111-92 with my up and coming rookie PF [70 rtg] who accomplished a QUADRUPLE-DOUBLE 16pts,13reb,10ast,10blk. I basically used all my timeouts just to keep him out there all game. Next was the all-star game, Dwight and Jameer were starters. Lost 95-82 and Kobe [14pts,4ast,2reb] won the MVP even though Dwight [22pts,12reb,7blk] clearly deserved it but unfortunately i don't expect the game to understand that since he was on the losing side.

Just made a new association with the Wizards. Moved Arenas and Trevor Booker for Rudy Gay and Tony Allen. Also moved Hinrich and someone whos name escapes me for Barbosa and Jarret Jack. So far we are 3-1. John Wall is a boss. Last game we were in nail biter with the Nets until Wall split a double team and finished with the game winning dunk. Javale Mcgee is playing well too. He had 11 blocks last game! Wall was also named player of the week. Which do u guys think is better to play on; simulation or default

Hhmmmm, I'm in the playoffs against Portland (Game 4) and the game has frozen on me twice. Each time was in the second quarter.

A hard freeze, where I had to turn my PS3 off.

Has this happened to anybody else?

                              ATLANTA HAWKS

About to start an atlanta hawks dynasty and im about to shuffle this team up and turn them from pretenders into contenders.

1st things first is that i want to get rid of joe johnson, not going to get us a chip and never will, plus he is on the wrong side of 30.

Future additions i would like to add
#1-andre miller-I want a pg that is solid in every aspect of the game, wont shoot the 3 ball well but is an excellent facilitator.

#2-shaquille O'neal-Big body in the middle and can give us great post offense and good solid rebounding, plus will take away the mismatches that Al Horford can get.also he comes cheap now.

#3-Tony Allen-All great teams needs that lockdown defender that can really cause havoc on the opposing teams top perimeter threat.

                              Future plans:
Get rid of marvin williams,he is never going to be good just a player wasting a ton of cap space,he is a bust IMO.

Make it past the second round and hopefully to the ECF.

Develop my rookie Jordan Crawford into an all-around scorer that can fill it up off of the bench, ala jr.smith in denver.

Play a slow paced half court offense that will run clock and play shutdown defense.

Resign Jamal Crawford only if he excepts less than $5 million per for about 2-3 seasons.

Goal is to be able to match up with opponents with every position and play great defense, thus eliminating the so called "ALL STAR EFFECT" that joe johnson brings.Make acquisitions that fit our team and dont overpay average players.

                                New Jersey Nets '10-'11 Season

The Nets just traded Devin Harris, OJ Mayo, and 2 picks for Chris Paul from the New Orleans Hornets. CP3 and the Hornets were coming off a subpar season, and they're lottery pick was not producing. The Nets were in need of a pass-first point guard. They got their man, but lost some scoring ability in the process.

Chris Paul's first game as a New Jersey Net came against the San Antonio Spurs -- a team he's very familiar with.

The game was close for the most part, and it was low scoring in the first half. But in the second half, both teams got hot. The Spurs got a 4 point lead with 2 minutes left.

Brook Lopez was having a horrible game with only 8 points and 3 rebounds. He fouled out. But huge shots by the newly signed Tyson Chandler who filled in for Lopez tied the game!

Chris Paul gets the ball with 12 seconds left. Calls a pick, creates some space but the shot comes up short. Overtime.

In overtime, CP3 and Morrow score 7 straight points.

30 second left, the Spurs are down by 2. Tony Parker gets the ball. He drives to the hole, puts up a shot. It goes in with a foul! Tony Parker calmy hits the free throw in his arena.

3.3 seconds left. The Nets have no timeouts and the lineup is CP3, Morrow, Perry Jones, Outlaw, and Favors.

CP3 gets the inbound pass dribbles up the court hands it off to Outlaw and he swishes the 3 as the ball barely gets off his hands in time!

                                115-113

The Nets are now 4-2. Spurs starting off the season slow with a 1-4 record.
