Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

I started a season today using "the dynasty" rosters with a few edits. Such as downloaded a rasheed Wallace cap n kept him in the free agency. Then I put the 95-96 Jordan and Pippen on the current raptors to see if they'll make them a contender. Then me and a lot of my buddies thought let's do a draft of our characters(20 of us) and we decided to let my boy john take care of it. What he did is put our names in one bag and the teams in the other bag and he'd pull out one of each. And I got "drafted" by the raptors 14th overall out of 20 lol. Me, Jordan, and Pippen. So we all got caps of each other in our rosters and we placed each other in the respective teams. I started my season and I signed A.I to run PG for us. My starting 5 is
    Pg Allen Iverson(75)
    SG Michael Jordan(99)
    SF me(75)
    Pf scottie Pippen(92)
    C bargs(78)

Played our first games vs knicks and won 96-86 with player of the game being Allen Iverson with 21 points 12 assists. Jordan added 24 points, Pippen added 21 points, I added 15.

My Boston team is sick. I didn't do any force trades on this either.

Nuggets Trade Carmelo Anthony, Kenyon Martin
Celtics Trade Paul Pierce, Kevin Garrnett, Nate Robinson

Hawks Trade Josh Smith, Marvin Williams
Celtics Trade Kenyon Martin, 2012 2nd round pick, Marquis Daniels

      PG - Rondo
      SG - Ray Allen
      SF - Carmelo Anthony
      PF - Josh Smith
      C - Shaq
      Bench:
      K.Perkins
      M.Williams
      D.West
      J.O'neal
      G.Davis
      V.Wafer
      A.Bradley
      S.Erden
      L.Harandody

Think I should of gave up D.West instead of Nate though.

Yeah same here. But I've seen yours, they're very good. I'm jealous though since CP3 is SO fun to play with and I always want him on one of my teams but I would never trade Derrick Rose and I am pretty much always the Bulls. Good luck with your season, it would be awesome if after a couple years you could change the Nets to Brooklyn.

3rd game, I went to LA and beat the Clippers by 9 led by the strong performance of George Hill and Tony Parker.

Really enjoying the game so far.
Ouch! That'll be tough hopefully George Hill can play well.

Damn that must be a FUN team to play with. Not the most realistic lol but definitely have 2 of the most fun people in the game in Melo and J Smoove. I wonder how that season will play out.

Nate is a beast, but in most of my associations him and west get mad about playing time, so that might help your team chemistry.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Wow, in game #1 of the new season I got into a hell of a battle with the Heat. Terrence Williams went off for 22 pts and grabbed 7 rebounds. Michael Beasley got 19 pts and 9 rebounds. John Wall struggled quite a bit... actually, I didn't even score a single point with him in the 1st half. He ended up with 14 pts and 8 assists, though.

It went right down to the wire. I had an opportunity to win the game with 8 secs left and the score tied at 97, but I missed the shot with Terrence Williams. Fortunately, the Heat went cold in OT and I was able to take the lead and hit FTs to ice it. I won 111-103.

Interesting thing, though. The Heat actually traded Mario Chalmers and Mike Miller to the Nuggest for Chauncey Billups and Renaldo Balkman as soon as the season started. So their starting lineup was Billups - Wade - James - Haslem - Bosh. That's a pretty damn good lineup.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

i am 18 games in. i started well on pro using the Sac Kings going 9-3. i decided to adjust to all star. i am now playing like the kings. i am 9-9. some of the scores have been eerily close to the real life kings.

i realized i needed more from the team. i was going to draft a PG, but decided to make a trade for arenas. it cost me dalembert, tompson and my first round pick for arenas, blatche and their 2nd. they unloaded a huge salary and got a some help for wall now and in the future. i got help for now.

tyreke is out for 3 to 5 weeks now with a broken wrist. garcia sprained his wrist. i am struggling to score. now that my chemistry fell from 59% to 32% my team doesn't run plays right at all. they keep running into each other and my defense is horrible.

i know it will get better when tyrekes and garcia totally heal, but how bad will my season look then.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

A quick update from my Cavs association:

I played a home at home against the Sixers. I narrowly pulled out the first game 98-94 in my building. Melo went off for 37 points on 12-21 shooting (2-4 from 3) and 11-12 on FT attempts. My rookie PG Aaron Webber (funny note: the game gave him #4, so I guess I can pretend he's a younger brother or cousin of Chris Webber lol) had 16 points and 12 dimes.

A few days later the Sixers took it to me in their building. This time I lost 99-91. Both games Shannon Brown struggled mightily (3-15 in the 1st game, 3-11 in the 2nd). Andre Igoudala did a number on him defensively so I had to rely on Webber and Carmelo. That worked out the first game, but the second game Carmelo was only average and Danny Granger lit me up big time. He dropped a 37 point game of his own.

The Sixers run a small lineup of Holliday, Igoudala, Young, Granger and Speights. For whatever reason it caused a lot of problems for me in both games. Probably because they were really able to expose my lack of an offensive post presence that could attack Granger at the 4.

I simmed the next game against the Pacers (who also run a small starting lineup like the Sixers do) and lost 123-101 on the road, so now I'm sitting at 3-2. The big stat from this game was Paul George getting to the line 15 times and converting all of them. He finished with 26 points and the Pacers ended up getting 44 FTs to my 26.

Next up is a game vs the Thunder that I'm about to play. Should be interesting since they were the runner up to the Celtics in last year's Finals.

Anyone know any good possible good potential players that I can trade Delonte West for? I prefer Nate over D West and he's very pissed about playing time atm.

Started out with the Knicks...Currently 18-14....I immediately waived Curry and his expiring 11M contract.

Made an 6 player deal with the Pacers

NY trades: Wilson Chandler, Amare and Bill Walker
IND trades: Paul George, Dunleavy, Jeff Foster and Lance Stephenson

Traded Landry Fields to SAC for Luther Head and 2nd Round Pick

                    PG- Felton, Lance Stephenson
                    SG- Auzibuke, Luther Head, Rautins
                    SF- Paul George, Dunleavy
                    PF- Gallo, Walter Hermann
C- Anthony Randolph, Jeff Foster Mosgov

Gallo is 4th in the lg in scoring at 26 PPG
Felton averages 14 and 11 but probably gets All-Star snub
Paul George is a BEAST. Dunks everything.
Dunleavy returns to glory days averaging 17 off my bench.

WE CANT GET A REBOUND FOR S***. Ill probably end up trading Azibuke and both 2nd rounders for a young, athletic big man. ( Ibaka, Whiteside or McGee) Allowing Randolph to go back to playing PF. Dont really want to get any "superstars" that way I wont play favorites while im playing, makes my team more balanced IMO.

Expiring contracts (Foster, Kelenna, Dunleavy, Hermann) Will have tons of $$$$ in free agency so I may try to sign 2-3 quality role players
                    NFL- Washington Redskins
                    NCAA FB- Miami Hurricanes
                    NCAA BB- Georgetown Hoyas

Just curious, but why would you trade Amare?

That probably has a lot to do with your rebounding problems.

Go after Ibaka, he's been big for me in my Jazz assciation. He can get you rebounds, block shots, and he's not too bad on O.

Doesn't Curry's 11m still count towards your cap since you just waived him?

I believe he does. I was toying around with that once and waived all my players and i literally had no one on my team in the offseason and had no money to spend, only the minimum. It's best to just trade someone rather than waive.

I started one with the sixers. Traded Elton to Hornets for West. Got hammered by Miami 125-97. Mario Chalmers was the player of the game. 10 points and 19 assists. I held Lebron to 16 points but everybody else got theirs.

Year 1: Traded Baron Davis & 1st Round pick for Micahel Beasley. Sign Carmelo Anthony at years end. Not a very succesful year.

                              Year 2: Starting Lineup.

                              PG Eric Gordon
                              SG Carmelo Athony
                              SF Michael Beasley
                              PF Blake Griffen
                              C Chris Kaman

Result: Leading league in scoring, FG% and winning %.

Settings: Minor slider adjustment to my liking. Standard Association settings. All-Star difficulty.

                                Year 2: Starting Lineup.

                                PG Eric Gordon
                                SG Carmelo Athony
                                SF Michael Beasley
                                PF Blake Griffen
                                C Chris Kaman

Result: Leading league in scoring, FG% and winning %.

Settings: Minor slider adjustment to my liking. Standard Association settings. All-Star difficulty.
Well done Vaughn, but does Gordon work well as PG?
