It's nice to see you have a plan at least but, I don't know if I would've put all my eggs in one basket like that. Keep us posted on how it works out.

You're in Year 3, right? Either way, with that lineup you may be poised to make good run at the Championship. Good Luck.

I'm actually in year 2. Irving, Smith, and Joseph are rookies for me. If you've been reading my previous posts, I restarted again. ha Thanks though. I'm definitely sticking with this one.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

I'm in year two of my Raptors assoc. I simmed most of the first year, was able to ship Calderon and Barbosa to the Bucks for a 2nd rounder and Redd (expiring / didn't re-sign, he ended up going to the Magic, who are having a horrible second year with Nelson and Lewis both hurt for long stretches.) The Bucks went to the Conference finals and lost to the Heat. Heat beat the Thunder in the finals.

Got the 3rd overall pick in the draft (using "Mario's classes on ps3( and took Kyrie Irving. Cleveland took Barnes #1 overall and Sac took Perry Jones #2. Phoenix gets Kanter with #4 etc. Also drafted Kyrie's Duke teammate Mason Plumlee in the 2nd round.

With my capspace I was able to sign Wilson Chandler to a 4 year deal worth about 8.5 mil / per. Also signed Afflalo for 3 years, 4 mil / per.

At the trade deadline I'm 3rd in the East, leading the Atlantic, but Afflalo and Kleiza are complaining about playing time and their overalls are down.

I was liking both of them (especially Afflalo) but I can't handle their overalls going down with each month, so I ship them on deadline day, with my 1st rounder to the Hornets for Ariza. Chris Paul went down with a torn MCL in December and was out for the year. No has since gone on e a 22 game losing streak (!)

          My lineup:
          PG: Irving / Bayless
SG: Derozan / Weems / Wright
          SF: Chandler / Ariza
PF: Davis / Johnson / Dorsey (also pissed about PT)
C: Bargs / Plumlee / Alabai (sent to D league)

Irving and Harrison Barnes have been battling for ROY. Irving averaging 17.4 ppg / 9/1 apg / 1.9 spg - Barnes averaging 21.3 / 5.3 rpg / 3 apg).

Chandler has been a great addition, averaging 7.1 RPG. Ed Davis is a defensive beast also (I train him every month). I lead teh league in BPG, am 4th in RPG, and am 14th in points per game. Nobody has any exceptional stats, this team just plays well as a team.

The AI Pacers have been screwing the Grizzlies. Signed Marc Gasol, Zach Randolph and and Jason Thompson as FAs. Traded Thompson (and some scrub) mid season to the Griz for Mayo (and some scrub): their lineup now is Collison / Mayo / Granger / Randolph / Hibbert with george and Gasol first off the bench. They are having a huge season and look dangerous for years to come.

Bobcats traded for Steve Nash Sam Dalembert (I forget who they traded for) and are also having a huge year.

NYK traded Anthony Randolph, Curry, Walker a 1st (and someone else, forget who) for Monta Ellis. The Nets did absolutely nothing except get the 7th overall pick last year and are now 6th in the Conference (the Knicks, oddly, are battling the Hawks for 8th).

The East is insane this season. The Heat are 4th in the Conference with a 41-28 record.

How do you find playing with Andre Miller in 2k11? I find out of just about everyone in the league he is the hardest to accurately replicate because he's slow, not a great shooter from deep and can't jump but in real life he gets around all that due to his savy, great low post game and smarts. I find him useless in 2k11 which is shame because i like his game IRL.

Since he's really not a good outside shooter, I tend to use him in the post a lot. He has some really good low post moves and even some good spins out of the post that get him to the basket. However, I find he gets his shot blocked A LOT, which is a pain when driving to the basket. Other than that he is really good at making runners and mid-range jumpers just outside of the paint. I say he averages about 15 PPG and about 9 APG which isn't bad considering Aldridge, Roy, and Matthews are the bulk of my scoring. I also tend to run Roy at the PG spot at times which takes away from Miller's assist totals.

However, Roy re-injured his back and is out another 2-4 weeks. So I'll change my offense accordingly. When Roy is out, I like Miller taking more shots, because of his ability to get fouled. Right now we're 3-1 without him, and all three wins came against Divisional opponents which is huge.

cool thanks for the reply. I might have to give it another try and see if i can find some good plays that let him catch the ball on the blocks so he can go to work on other guards.

So I started another franchise with my Knicks and my goal was to get Melo before I started the first season. Well I did but man did I have to give up a lot. First I moved Chandler, Buike, Curry and a 2012 first rounder for Iguodala and Thaddeus Young. Then I flipped Iguodala, Thaddues, A Randolph and my 2011 first rounder to the nuggets for Melo, Balkman and their 2011 2nd rounder.

This will be my only move of the year, trade wise. Just hope Melo will resign with me. Will see how it goes. I'm happy I kept all the core guys except for Chandler too.

                  PG Felton
                  SG Fields
                  SF Melo
                  PF Amar'e
                  C Turiaf
                  6th Gallo
                  Role Douglas
                  Role Balkman

                  Prospects
                  Bill Walker
                  Mozgov
                  Andy Rautins

                  Bench
                  Roger Mason
                  Shawn Williams

3-0 so far. Was down until the fourth quarter against Toronto and Boston but was able to pull out nail biters. And to my surprise I killed Portland by 25. Keep you guys posted on my progress. By the way the Melo-Amare combo is nice. Instant scoring. I'm holding it down on D too held Portland to 91 points.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

I think I'm to the point in my season where I'm going to have to choose between Josh Childress and Jared Dudley. Childress is averaging around 6.1 ppg playing about 22 mins. Dudley has been out but, while he was healthy he was averaging 5.7 ppg in 13 mins.

I find Childress much harder to shoot with despite being the third highest rated player on my team. I can't really get anything going with him on the outside or inside. Plus, he has been complaining this season. He complained about being a Role Player so, I switched him to 6th Man. Then he complained about his minutes even though he was getting 27 mpg off the bench while Dudley was injured and Richardson was hurt.

Dudley is probably one of the Top 2-3 three point marksman on the team. He is also younger than Childress but, his ball handling skills are a little less. Another thing to take into consideration is (I don't remember their exact contacts) but, I know Childress is locked up long term. I don't know about Dudley contract but, he has said that he wants to test the market when his contract is up.

If I move Josh, I'm likely to look for a 1st-rounder and a Role Player (possibly a PG-SG combo) in return. Although, I'm hesitant to make the move because I love the versatility and the depth that he brings. I'm in Mid-December right now so I have some time. I guess that I'm just going to have to study on this move some more before I pull the trigger.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

In our 4th season, 2014/15, the Clippers went a conference best 37-21, to lock up home court for the play offs, and it turned out to be an excellent advantage with the atmosphere at Staples helping to see off Utah Jazz & the Grizzlies before facing a Harrison Barnes led Golden State in the conference finals.

Despite the best efforts of Harrison Barnes who exploded in the 2nd game the combined defense of Aminu and Single proved to be much while Bledsoe was on fire setting up all the big men inside with ease. The victory over Golden State meant a first ever conference title for the Clippers and and first ever trip to the NBA finals where they would take on a Perry Jones led Cavaliers, who could honour their owners promise of winning a ring before LeBron.

On a completely unrelated side note, I just noticed the first 3 picks in the 2011 draft, our very own Enes Kanter, Harrison Barnes and Perry Jones have gone on to become superstars in the league with Jones the reigning MVP, and all 3 are going to be free agents in the summer, will there be another heartbreaking 'decision' for the Cavs fans as Jones is making noises about leaving, as are Barnes and Kanter.

Onto the finals themselves and it was a back and forth battle the went all the way to the 7th game after a heart stopping victory by the Cavs to tie the series at 3 a piece in the 6th game after Gordon thought he'd won it. Despite all the swings in momentum and changes in form there was one constant, and that was under appreciated point guard Eric Bledsoe who amazingly averaged a double double over the 7 games with 10.4 points, 12.3 assists and 2.3 steals. He stepped it up a notch in the 7th game, with an amazing 16 assists and 11 points to lead the Clippers to the promised land and break the Cavs nation's heart. Even though he was correctly named Finals MVP, this was a team effort with Kyle Singler and Aminu putting in another great defensive performance on the 2nd all world SF they faced in MVP Perry Jones. Kanter and Griffin were absolute monsters in the paint with a steady supply from Bledsoe while Gordon was knocking down perimeter shots all game. The 101-92 victory gave the Clippers a 4-3 series win and their first ever NBA Championship!

In the post season however the team was decimated by expiring contracts as Enes Kanter, Kyle Singler & Brandon Knight all decided to test free agency before signing new contracts, you couldn't blame them as it was a free agency to remember with marquee names such as Harrison Barnes [97ovr], Perry Jones [95], Enes Kanter [91], Lebron [93], Rondo [91], Kyrie Irving [91], Flynn [90] a 36 year old KObe [83]etc. As the Clippers, i made qualifying offers to my own players first, before making audacious 82M offers to my play off nemesis' Harrison Barnes and Perry Jones. Of my own players they all resigned even Singler who i didnt want to sign before knowing whether i signed Barnes or Jones to replace him, as it happened I signed Perry Jones which meant i had 3 good SF in Aminu Singler and now Jones. The big winners of free agency were Detroit who managed to land not only Harrison Barnes but LeBron James as well, to go with their elite young gurad Shabzz Muhammad! Kobe landed with the 76ers to back up Evan Turner, Kyrie Irving signed with the Bucks, Flynn signed with the Hawks while Rondo resigned with C's.

The draft was a forgettabe affair with the Clippers picking up two young big men in Alfred Jennings a 79 rated center from Tulsa, and Phillip Anthony a 65 rated PF from Lousiana Tech.

After all the free agent machinations this is what the roster of the defending champs, the LA Clippers looks like heading into the 2015/16 season:

                        PG: Bledsoe [88]|Knight [84]
                        SG: Gordon [86]| Bullock [82]
                        SF: Jones [95]| Singler [86]| Aminu [83]
                        PF: Griffin [93]|Thomas [74]
                        C: Kanter [92]|Jennings [79]|Gobert [75]

As you can see it's a pretty impressive roster with the only worry being there aren't enough minutes to go around meaning its inevitable there will be some tantrums but hopefully nothing that will be outright ruinous to the team.

I started my Association with the NBA landscape looking like this!

                          In the East:
Celtics = Current 2010 roster my controlled team!
Knicks = 94'-95 Knicks ( Come on, the Oak Tree and Mase in the face!)
Toronto = 85'-86' Celtics (Bird looks real strange rocking the Raptors Uni)
                          76ers = Current roster plus Rose/ Jamison
NJ = Current roster plus Stodimire

Bulls = 95'-96' Chicgo Bulls! (Jordon went off for 59 in his first game!)
Idiana = Current Roster plus E. Gordon
Bucks = Current Roster plus Big Al Jerfferson
Cavs = 89'-90' Clevland Cavs (Craig Ehlo in the house!)
Detriot = The Bad Boys are back! 89-'90' Pistons

Orlando = Current Roster plus Camby
                          Heat = Current Roster!
Hawks = 89'-90' Atlanta Hawks (Nique'!)
                          Bobcats = CR plus Varejao
Washington = CR plus Joe Johnson

                          West:
Spurs = CR plus Kevin Durant
                          Mavs = CR plus Kirlinko

Rockets = CR plus Rip Hamilton/ T. Prince

Utah = 97'-98' Jazz (Stockton to Malone is back, and still real boring!)
Denver = CR plus Mo williams
Oklahoma = 95'-96' Sonics (Kemp, Payton)
Portland = 91'-92' Trailbrailzers (Klyde the Glide)

Started one as The Heat and it has been fun, LBJ is just a beast, and I have already had a Triple Double n a game with him.

Wade went down for 4-6 weeks and we lost a few, but just pulled out the big win on Christmas day against the Lakers. Gasol was also out and Kobe was kept in check by LBJ, artest could not say that about James, who abused him inside and out finsishing with 31, 12 and 9.

Finally found some all start slidrs I like, great game.

I handle the Pacers pretty easily, they had no answer for Tim Duncan. But in the 2nd game, I fell to the Hornets, Thornton had a terrific 4th quarter, and I could not stop him.

3rd game, I went to LA and beat the Clippers by 9 led by the strong performance of George Hill and Tony Parker.

Really enjoying the game so far.
Ouch Marino...glad to see you've got your association up and running.

Been on a real tear w/ Dallas, have not lost a game in FEB and am on a 7-game winning streak. What's even more impressive is that 6 of those 7 wins have come on the road, all while being without Tyson Chandler for all of them, and having just got back Brendan Haywood for my most recent win against the Rockets. Dirk has been great, and has put himself right back into the mix for MVP considerations.

I'm 17-9 in my Suns Association. That's good enough for 1st in the Pacific Division, 2.5 games ahead of the King's and 3 game ahead of the Lakers.

So far, I'm 6-3 in December. In all of the 6 wins Nash has posted a double-double. His best game came against Indiana where he had 27 pts, 16 assists, 8 boards and a block. He followed that up with another stellar performance vs. Washington where he had 26 pts, 14 ast, 4 reb and 2 steals. In our 3 losses he has yet to put up a double-double yet. So basically, as Nash goes so goes our team.

Our next two game are at the Spurs who are 2nd in the Western Conference right now with a record of 19-7. Then we go back home to face the Eastern Conference leading Heat (24-5). We're about to find out what we're really made of.
