Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Very true. I also forgot to up date the trades portion of my post you quoted. I sent Maxiell, Charlie V, and Big Ben to NO, Stuckey to Charlotte, and Peja ($17m expiring), a 1st Rd'er from NOH, 2nd Rd'er from CHA, Gerald Henderson, Kwame Brown, and Jason Smith to DET.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Lebron has returned to the line up with a vengence.
After missing nearly 3 weeks due to a lower back injury Lebron James came back full force in Miami's 2nd of 5 consecutive road games at Portland. James ended up with a triple double (32 points, 10 assists, 12 boards) in leading the Heat to a come from behind win. The Heat trailed at one point by 18 points in the second quarter. Dwayne Wade playing on a sore knee, struggled and labored to just 8 points. Chris Bosh and James Jones though helped as well. Bosh finished with 31 points and 15 boards and James Jones chipped in 22 points off the bench.
At the LA Clippers Chris Bosh exploded for 35 points and 17 boards and has seemed to really honed in on his post game. Against the weaker PF's in the league he is now taking them to school and the Heat are making more of an effort to get him the ball early and often. The Heat though like the previous game had to come from 15 points down. The theme seems to be on the road that teams will jump out on us early, but inevitably we implore our will with Wade and James driving to the paint and getting to line in the second half and getting the other teams big men into foul trouble (kaman had 5 by games end) helps offset out weakness in the middle. The double teams start coming and then the pick and roll starts humming, as well as the drive and kicks to the three point line.
Big Z started this game at center (matchup of Kaman led me to do this) and I think I am going to make the move permanent and replace Anthony with Big Z as our starting center. Chalmers has been strugling with his shot on this road trip but continues to rack up the dimes. Carlos Arroyo made a nice contribution in this game (8 points 5 dimes 2 boards) and seems to be making a case for more minutes over Eddie House who has been turning it over too often for my taste as of late. The game turned into a blow out by the end of the 3rd quarter as the Heat put the peddle to the metal in overcoming a 10 point half time deficit. By the start of the 4th quarter the Heat led by 15. The Clippers went ice cold in the 3rd. The bench got healthy minutes and gave some much neede rest to the big three. Haslem chipped in with 10 points and 9 boards. And again James Jones lit it up off the bench with 24 points. Mike Miller is now day to day and once he is healthy enough to return he will find himself being eased back in with James Jones playing so well.
The Heat sit at 27-14 and 1st overall in the Eastern Conference.Last edited by Armor and Sword; 11-18-2010, 12:38 PM.Now Playing on PS5:

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
After my Assoc froze up at The Resign Position, I discovered that I can play w/ My Pacers even if im stuck as the Atlanta GM.
But im wondering how 2 other teams have signed Larry Hughes and Flip Murray, if i have trades overide on. Ive even waived them after just to see them re-sign after my tinkering.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
I simulated year one and jumped into year two with the Clippers. Basically everyone on the roster was expendable and I would only do trades that were suggested by the cpu. We sucked in the first year and missed the playoff's. I traded away Baron Davis for Calderon and the Toronto pick and did a few other trades etc.
At the start of the 2nd year my roster looks like
PG: Kyrie Irving (created draft class, 3rd pick overall).
SG: Eric Gordon
SF: Thad Young (acquired in FA, a total surprise, leading my team in scoring at 28ppg after 9 games)
PF: Griffin
C: Hibbert
Key bench players
Roddy Beubois
Mickael Pietrus
DeAndre Jordan
Tyler Honeycutt (13th pick overall)
a few other scrubs
Been going pretty well in the games so far and currently sit at 6-3.
Anyone else have the problem that they can win very easily on pro but get dominated on all star? I can beat most teams but 10-20 on pro now but i seem to always get handled by the same amount on all star.Comment

Go over to the sliders sub forum and check out The Purist slider set. I think they are very tight. I was using JD's sliders and they are good too but found the purist fit my play style much better.
Experiement because IMO Pro is the best setting, it is just a matter of finding the right slider combo. Now Playing on PS5:

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Wizards All-Star/Sim
I beat the Trailblazers at home last night to improve my record to 6-12. It has been a struggle so far, but hopefully I can turn it around and get to around .500 and try and sneak in the playoffs.
Wall is great, averaging about 25 and 11, but I do turn it over trying to make too many perfect passes with him. Arenas is a scorer and is averaging about 22. He is hot and cold and is probably the reason I haven't won more than I have. I rely on his 3 point shooting and if he's having an off night, my offense struggles. Javelle McGee is surprisingly good and averages about 10 points and 10 boards. I have been trying to get Andre Blatche more involved in the offense and have recently changed the plays for him to get him some more scoring opportunities.
I accepted a CPU trade for my backup center who wasn't even on the Wiz in real life. I traded him for Jodie Meeks and a 2nd round pick from the Sixers. That is the only move I've made. I'd like to get a better 3 point shooting SF. I'll probably wait and see how my team does over the next month or so before I start thinking about any more trades.PSN: Koolie_G

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
My team got better even though they won the nba championship last year.
If you trade enough, you can get steals big time.
In the end this is basically how the trade went:
I traded Batum,9th overall pick, 28th overall pick and a 1st round pick next year(which will probably be 30th)
I got 6th overall pick and 1st round pick next year(regardless of what the pick is, it'll be worth it)
Used the 6th pick to draft Kanter(though sucks how he has to be my bench guy that barely plays 20 mins).
You know my starting lineup is good when I got 2 top 15 picks both barely playing 20 mins. I managed to find a glitch though. I signed Paul George for a min contract for 5 years.
What happens if I sign a RFA though? Do I lose a pick or what?Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Just started a new association with the Bullets. First order of business was to trade Arenas to Milwaukee for Michael Redd's expiring $18mil and a first round pick. This trade wouldn't happen in real life, but Arenas is rated 83 overall and has 2+1 years left on his contract and Redd is 73 ovr and making the same money. Overall I thought it was a pretty fair trade especially considering that Milwaukee is probably a playoff team and I am not.
Playing 12 minute quarters using mkharsh33's sliders and DaRebirth's draft class. Just finished the season opener, losing to Orlando 113-105. John Wall finished with 25 points 3 boards and 18 assists. Redd and Hinrich had 20 points and 3 rebounds each and Javale McGee grabbed a double double with 17 points and 11 boards. He also had 5 blocks.
Vince Carter lit me up for 37 and Howard had 25 points and 18 rebounds.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Kings Franchise - season one. Pro-Custom, with 12 min qtrs.
Finished the season and played my first playoff game.
I blew the Hornets out, with Tyreke exploding for a season-high 51 pts! Jason Terry also came up big with 25 (has turned out to be a GREAT trade for me).
Paul was a no-show, only scoring 10, but having 11 assists.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
I'm rolling with the Wizards, currently in the 3rd yr of my Association. I'm in the 2nd rd of the playoffs as the top seed. 50 win season, but 3 of my 28 loses came from the Bulls. How do I stop them? Sidenote: The 1 game I did win against them, Rose, Noah & another one of their players were injured.
My Current Wizards Lineup:
Starters, Backups
PG - J. Wall, Shaun Livingston, Janero Pargo
SG - Evan Turner, Shannon Brown, Garrett Temple
SF - Danny Granger, Derrick Brown, Austin Daye
PF - Jason Thompson, Sean Williams, Kris Humphries
C - JaVale McGee, Spencer Hawes, Antonio McDyess
The Bulls w/ a 94 rated Defense:
Rose
Brewer
Deng
Boozer
Noah
Seriously fellas, what defense do I run or strategies do you suggest I use? Every game I play against them, they completely take me out of my game with their D. I'm running plays, the pass get's intercepted, I drive w/ Wall, shot blocked, I do my low post thing w/ McGee he loses the ball. I set screens for Turner, shot missed. They're the only team I haven't been able to beat.
--Update:
I said the hell with being scared and I attacked them from the jump ball. Noah is out w/ a broken leg, he won't play at all during this series, so I attacked Boozer who is playing the 5 and this Battle dude w/ my low post game and I'm kicking it out to Turner and Granger for the wide open long jump shots. I'm also playing the 1-3-1 Zone and I have 4 blocks in 5 mins of play so far.
--Update 2:
Out for 1-2 weeks w/ a Lower Back Strain..Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
I created a post about this maybe a month ago, but for guys looking to take advantage of D-League, set all the random guys ages to 45 in yr 1(or whatever yr your in, but preferable yr 1) so they retire(some stragglers will play at age 46, yeesh) and then the d-league rosters get filled by actual guys.
I was in yr 2 and I decided to play a game with the Mad Ants. They had Tristan Thompson(Texas frosh from downloaded draft class) rated 64, but he was an absolute monster!!! After the game I took a look at the potential rating(kinda cheating i kno) he had and it was set to 85, and I just had to scoop him for my team. I just kinda felt that it was interesting, this actually made the d-league useful for me.Comment
