Re: The Official Rate My Trade Thread

Well I made up Fantasy Draft Association (picked the Lakers bc I like the jerseys) and have the following roster:

PG: Mo Williams | Lou Williams | Daniel Gibson
SG: Kobe Bryant | Brandon Rush
SF: Trevor Ariza | Damion James | Daniel Green
PF: Dirk Nowitzki | Brandon Bass | rookie PF
    C: Kendrick Perkins | Chris Anderson | rookie C

Everyone is happy except Lou Williams. He has the 6th man role and is having around 21 minutes. The first shot I give now is to try and increase his minutes a bit, but if that won't do the trick does anyone have a suggestion what might be a possible trade?

Remember it is a Fantasy Draft Association cause I wanted the mix up.

Re: The Official Rate My Trade Thread

Just started a Cavs association and played a few games and realize I needed a scorer in my starting line-up. So here is the trade I made:

      Cavs receive:

      Jason Richardson
      Grant Hill

      Suns Receive:

      Antwan Jamison
      Ramon Sessions

      Why for Cleveland?
2 reasons. 1st, I get rid of Jamison and Sessions' contracts. Jamison's was 13 mil for 2 years and Sessions was like 5 for 3 years. Richardson's contract is 17 and expires at the end of the year along with Grant Hills so I will have around 20 mil coming off the cap. 2ndly, Richardson will give me energy in the starting lineup and Hill will be a shut down defender for me

      Why for Phoenix?

It gives them another scorer in Jamison to replace Amare. It would also put Jamison on a contender along with Nash.

So here is my rotation after the trade:

      Mo / Gibson
      Richardson / Parker
Hill / Moon / Jawad Williams / Joey Graham
      Hickson / Leon Powe
      Varejo / Hollins

I'm a little week at the PF / C spot so I might try and trade Moon for another big.

      Thoughts?

Who moves into the starting lineup at SG for the Suns? If you're trying to make realistic trades (not that they would happen in real life, but that they would make sense), I just don't see why the Suns would make that trade.
        NFL: Bills
        NBA: Bucks
        MLB: Cubs
        NCAA: Syracuse
        Soccer: USMNT/DC United

Yea, just locate Bayless. Him and Williams are pretty much the same type of player and w/ Bayless being rated like a 66 he would be pretty happy being your 6th man w/ 21 min a game.

Looking to unload Jamison and Mo Williams.

I'm in need of a starting SG. Preferabley a young one.

If you're using the Cavs like I am here is what i did. This may not be what you're looking for but here is my trade:

Cavs get: Jason Richardson & Grant Hill
              Suns get: Jamison and Sessions

I know J'Rich isn't young but he has a 17 mil expiring contract. Hill's expires at the end of the year and his is like 3 mil. I like Richardson's game. Athletic, great dunker and can shoot from outside. He should give you a stop gap for the year and if does well resign him or let him walk and that's 17mil coming off your books. Hill is a great defender also. Here is my lineup after the trade:

              Williams / Gibson
              J'Rich / Parker
Hill / Moon / Graham / Jawad Williams
              Hickson / Powe
              Varejo / Hollins

The only bad thing is that I am week upfront but I'm trying to trade for another big and I'm also looking to get another decent scorer of the bench because it's hard to score with my 2nd unit.

              Hope this helps.

Keep Deng, he's a beast when you use him aggressively.

Trade Kurt Thomas and a first for Rudy Fernandez and a 2nd rounder, the Bulls are fun with their original team, I've learned to play with them after redrafting my association 562748484 times.

Thanks, yeah i don't know about that. I mean it's a good trade to get rid of Jamison. But i don't know if i'd really want J-Rich, i'd rather a younger guy. But thanks anyway.

I'm even thinking about getting someone like Landry Fields to start, i mean he starts in real life. And i'm expecting to lose a lot of games, seeing as i am rebuilding. But the thing is, it's hard to get rid of Jamison's contract.

Thinking of pulling off this trade in my Jazz association:

                    Jazz get:
                    PF Boris Diaw
                    SF Derrick Brown

                    Bobcats get:
                    SG Thabo Sefolosha
                    SG Morris Peterson
                    2011 Cavs 1st round pick

                    Why for the Jazz:
Jazz get another pick who can fill in for Jefferson or Millsap when they go out and a young SF who has some potential. Also, Thabo has been playing like crap for me and MoPete gets no playing time.

                    Why for the Bobcats:
They get a young SG who plays great D in Thabo and a vetern expiring contract in MoPete. Also, the Cavs 1st round pick should be pretty low.

Is it a fair enough trade? Would the Bobcats go for it IRL?

Go get J.R. Smith, he pretty much have everything you are looking for, youth, athletic and a decent shooter. Also his contract is expiring, so you free up cap space and can resign him if you want. The same goes for Marcus Thorton another option.

I think the Bobcats would jump on that trade in real life. You bring up valid points plus CHA is all about freeing up salary.

Re: The Official Rate My Trade Thread

So i started a new Association playing Heat. I change some of Bosh Tendecies to be more focus on posting up. And I wanted some size in the middle so i did a trade finder with Chalmers and Joel Anthony, and I was offered J. thompson by the Kings, they wanted me to add a 1st w/ the deal. I accepted it. I think the trade is somewhat realistic b/c they could use an upgrade at the point when Evans isn't playing it and chalmers does that. And with Landry, Cousins and Dalembert, i feel thompson will become the odd man out. What do you guys think? Oh yea with the new update MIA now has black socks in away games.

                          My starters are:
                          PG Arroyo
                          SG Wade
                          SF LeBron
                          PF Bosh
                          C Thompson

I know i give up alot of defense with the trade. But with the option to develop players in the coaching area. Every month i will spend 3 hours trying to improve both Thompson and Bosh Post D and Blocking.

I like that trade for Miami and the Kings. I like Jason Thompson and he'll fit in well with the Big 3. Also I don't think you gave up that much D as Thompson is still young and has plenty of time to develop.

Playing as the Nets, I cannot get anything out of Favor, so I went to the trade finder and got this:

                              Nets get:
                              O.J. Mayo

                              Grizzlies:
                              Derrick Favor
1st Round Draft Pick (Raptors) that I got from an earlier trade

Do you think this would be a fair trade?

Re: The Official Rate My Trade Thread

So in my all-30 franchise Udonis Haslem of the Heat has gone down with a major back injury and will miss at least 8 weeks. That pushes Juwan Howard as the next big off the bench (other than Big Z).

I want to bring in a big, but I've already depleted most of the default free agency class by filling team's rosters to 13 - 14 players (some 15).

Mario Chalmers is the piece that could be traded, but his salary is something in the $800-$900K range which greatly limits available trade options.

Do I stand pat on the Heat, and have them deal with the loss?
Do I make a deal for Chalmers, likely taking a lesser player in exchange?

                                Thoughts/Ideas?
