That's what I enjoyed about him is he can play with alot of different lineups cause of his athletism and unique skills for his natural position.

Agreed, Westbrook is a top tier point guard, one of the very best in the game and he has grown up in the Thunder system, no chance he ever gets traded, he's untouchable. Thunder can give a care less about improving talent wise if it means giving up a player who is a huge part of their rotation, as their plan has been and still is continuity and chemistry will lead to good things. Ibaka is also very talented and would a starter on most teams, he is a beast on the defensive end with his blocking and rebounding ability, and his great mid-range jumper. Even in the 2K universe it doesn't make sense because Westbrook is an 86 and Ibaka is a 77, while acquiring a 74, 66, and a lottery pick. The Thunder just don't make trades, and if they do it's a very small, unimportant one that doesn't affect their current rotation.

Anybody have some thoughts on this trade?

Timberwolves get: Derozan, Stojakovic, '11 2nd round pick
        Raptors get: Beasley, Ellington

Could it realistically happen and how fair is it for both sides? Maybe I throw in Brewer instead of Ellington and make it a 1st rounder? I'm also wondering if having Derozan at SG and Johnson at SF is a little redundant. They seem to be the same type of player. If I do it maybe I could then send Ridnour, a 1st, and a 2nd to Sacramento for Cousins if there's any chance of them trading him.

Beasley has been playing really well for Minny so I don't know if they'd be willing to let go of such a unique talent for just an athletic 2 guard with some upside. When Beasley has probaby just as much upside imo.

And your probably not getting Cousins with that package.

Lakers (me): Was offered Nash and Turk before trade deadline for Pau and Blake, so I counter offered with; Barnes, Walton and Bynum and they accepted.

So now my Lakers look like, playing a 9-10 man rotation:

            Starters
            Nash
            Kobe
            Artest
            Odom
            Pau

            Bench
            Blake
            Shannon Brown
            Turk
            Ratliff
            Caracter

            Deep Bench
            Fisher
            Vujacic
            Ebanks

I'm the Hornets and I traded David West and somone filler for Tyson Chandler and they accepted. Then a week later I was offered Caron Butler, Brendan Haywood and Dominique Jones for Emeka Okafor and Trevor Ariza. I also traded Quincy Pondexter for Lance Stephensin and a 2nd Rounder

Yeah, that makes sense. I was just looking to see if I could improve other positions with one of my small forwards. I've got plenty of cap space and should have a lottery pick so maybe I'll just do it that way. Maybe I'll just edit Johnson so SG is his primary position but I'm not sure if that would be considered cheap.

I said its really not cheap cause there is no other way to change their positions in this game. SG to me personally is a position in this game that can be filled countless ways cause of the adbundance of slashing type players

                    Westbrook
                    Ibaka

I was shocked when the AI accepted this trade. Dummies. Its so far from realistic its almost sickening. But im gonna roll with it cause I want Westbrook and Ibaka had a triple double for me earlier this week 20pts 11rbds 10 blocks...that was the first time id ever pulled that off. The odd thing is if I do the trade right when I start they accept but if I reverse it and try and get them back they decline. The ai actually feels they got the better end of the deal.

Btw anyone have any advice on trying to get rid of Hamilton? He is kind of a dilemma player cause he's a 77 but regressing so you can't get much back. When he is your #2 option its hard for me to let him go for nothing. Any suggestions?
Actually, you gave up a ton. This game values young, talented big man very highly (as well they should.) Monroe is hurt right now in my association, so he's -10, but had already gained from a 67 to 70 just getting 5 starts in the league and playing well. He will develop into a top-notch C or PF.

I post in the association thread and I run with the Pistons and Stuckey is great for me. I get around 12 dimes a game, he can drive, he has size - just needs to work on his jumpshot.

Don't get me wrong, I *LOVE* Westbrook and Ibaka is going to be awesome too. But if this trade goes through, that pick is probably still top-5. So you're giving up a 7th overall C, a top-5 pick (more than likely) and a combo guard capable of playing point well with room to develop, for a great point and a good PF.

Its a fair deal, but even as much as I love Westbrook I don't do it. Monroe will be great.

EDIT: In real life, OKC never ever never makes this deal. But from game assets, you're fine.

Here's a deal I'm exploring in my all-30 teams association between the Pistons, Nets, and Warriors.

Pistons send Tayshaun Prince and Kwame Brown to Warriors, and Rip Hamilton to the Nets.

Warriors send Vlad Radmanovic and Dan Gadzuric to Detroit (totals $14M in expiring contracts), Brendan Wright another $3.4M in expiring contracts, plus their non-lotto 2011 #1 draft pick.

Nets send to Pistons Troy Murphy ($12M expiring).

                      Thoughts?

Basically the Pistons would then have 3 1st Rd picks, and only Will Bynum, Ben Gordon, and Greg Monroe under contract.

The Pistons are 16-36 and the Warriors are 26-24 (but on a 3-game losing streak), and the Nets are on a 3-game winning streak and still in contention for an 7th/8th seed.

                        Pistons

                        C. Villanueva
                        T. McGrady
                        J. Jeffries(acquired in a previous trade)
                        2nd rd pick

                        Thunder
                        J. Green
                        R. Ivey
                        D. Cook
                        M. Peterson

Im the Pistons and im going to need a new SF next season and I've targeted Green and T. Young with Green at the top of my list. I don't wanna risk him not going to FA so I thought I might swing a trade for him. Is this reasonable?

Btw one issue I have with this trade is at the start of my season I traded Stuckey, Monroe, and a 1st to OKC for Westbrook and Ibaka. So if I did do this trade I feel like id have too many OKC starters on my team.

Just made a couple of trades in my association they seemed fair to me.
                          TRADE 1
                          PLAYER REASON
Sacramento: Jason Thompson (Had lost P-T to Landry/Cousins)
                          & 2011 1st round pick

                          TO

                          Chicago: James Johnson (Boozer/Gibson/Deng/Brewer/Korver/Bogans)
                          & 2011 2nd round pick

Why?...Sacramento wernt really using Jason Thompson and Noah could use a better back up than Scalabrine and Kurt Thomas.Chicago seemed to have to many versatile swingman and to me it seemed one had to be moved on and the Kings only have Garcia to back up Evans. The picks were thrown in as a "sweetner" - The Bulls are prob getting a player with a bigger upside and are moving into contending territory with Rose/Deng/Boozer/Noah so it seemed fair that the kings recieve a little extra even tho James Johnson seems a good role player behind Casspi.

                          Trade 2
Detroit trade :Jason Maxiel (P-T lost behind Jerebko/Villanueva and Cap room
                          12 2nd round pick

                          TO

Dallas trade : Deshawn Stevenson (Upgrade for playoffs!)
                          Alexis Ajinca

Why?....Detroit are struggling in my association and the mavs are about 4th seed in the west in mid January...Maxiel a 27 year old who is a blue collar player to back up Dirk in the playoffs.Dallas get a great upgrade and Detroit can slowly start there re-building around Stuckey/Villanueave/Monroe stage. So Detroit get cap space and less crowded front court and Ajinca a young rebounder which they only gave up a "2012" 2nd rounder & Dallas Get Maxiel who can get some playing time...and gets to the playoffs!

                          Possible future trades berfore deadline
Calderon - Cap Space for Toronto, leaves Bayless to start?
                          FOR
Dalembert - Kings get a better PG than Udich/Head/Jeter

Also other players im considering moving
                          Ellington - PT
                          Summers - PT
Iguodala - maybe in the off-Season?
                          Powe - PT
J.Richardson - Expiring for Young talent?
                          Perkins/Shaq/J.O'Neal/Big Baby - off season?

I started a new association with the Heat, and the first thing I did was trade Chris Bosh away. I am also not a Lebron fan, but I kept him because he is very good driving to the rim.

                            Heat trade away

                            Chris Bosh
Juwan Howard (I think or this crap guy)

                            Memphis trade

                            Rudy Gay
Their starting center (forgot his name)
                            2011 First rounder

Re: The Official Rate My Trade Thread

I can't remember all the trades I made, but by completely blowing up the Bobcats (losing Gerald Wallace, Stephen Jackson, DJ Augustine, Tyrus Thomas, both future 1st round Picks, Boris Diaw, and Derrick Brown) I ended up with Rudy Gay and Andre Iguodala as cornerstones, with a pretty nice supporting cast.

PG - Eric Maynor (he gets development points every month, especially in shooting)
                              SG - Iggy
                              SF - Rudy Gay
PF - Tiago Splitter (Low rating, surprisingly high potential 80 or 81)
C - Deandre Jordan (Low rating, but a beast in terms of rebounding and blocked shots)
Shaun Livingston, Marco Belinelli, Omri Casspi (Way too easy to obtain, maybe my most unfair trade), and Hasheem Thabeet make up the rest of my rotation.

Tons of fun having uber athletic wings in Iggy and Gay, and when Casspi and/or Bellinelli come in, the dynamic changes completely as I run play after play in which they come off screens for jumpers. Putting Casspi in at the 4 for stretches gets him WIDE open on the wing at times. Livingston has a low rating but I always seem to do well w/ him because of his height. Thabeet... Well I needed a backup center and had few resources. Grizzlies seemed super eager to get rid of him.

in my lakers franchise i want to trade away ratliff. ratliff will rebound and block shots but if i pass him the ball on the way to the basket he fumbles it on the first step. i was thinking of trading him for chandler but his contract is too high and i was also thinking about trading him for de'andre jordan from the clippers. trade finder tells me the clippers would accept ratliff & 1st rd pick for de'andre jordan. is that a fair trade since the clippers are known for making bad deals?
