Re: The Official Rate My Trade Thread
You could trade Prince(an expiring) and fillers for Iguodala(he has a pretty bad contract though but he publicly said he wouldn't be surprised if he were traded).Comment

Re: The Official Rate My Trade Thread
(Prince, Rip, Stuckey for Iggy, Lou Williams and Kapono) I feel like it would be fair if I added in a 2nd round pick or something.
And thanks for the feedback.

Re: The Official Rate My Trade Thread
Wolves franchise trade:
I trade:
PF Beasley (74)
1st Round Pick (2nd overall)
I receive (OKC):
SF Jeff Green (74)
C Cole Aldrich (66)
I'm happy with Darko as my current C, but also hoping to upgrade the position for the long haul. I see Aldrich, a Minnesota boy, as my long-term solution and a franchise cornerstone next to Kevin Love.Comment

I like it to Udoh can play next to Bogut and gives you a excellent back to the basket player. When the Warriors traded Maggette I was devastated cause it ruined my 2k dreams lol.Comment

Re: The Official Rate My Trade Thread
Don't do it!
Of course your team would be quite talented, but I suspect you'll find the overall experience somewhat underwhelming. There's a certain satisfaction to building "your" team and achieving success within the framework of the story that you create. In my mind, trading for LeBron James is not just taking the easy way out, it's also taking the less compelling way.
You mentioned how you wanted to build a defensive squad, and while James is certainly an elite defender, I think you'll lose the charm of those various role players doing what they do. You probably do have excessive depth, and targeting additional scoring from the wing makes tons of sense for your roster. I just think you should be looking a tier or two below the highest rated player in the game.
What you'll end up with is a radically different feel to your team and even though you should be quite successful, you're going to spend a lot of your time isolating with Rose and James and just overpowering your opponents by attacking the basket with those two players. That gets old fast.
If you insist on acquiring a star player to pair with Rose, you should consider someone with a different skill set. If you can find a shooter at the 2 without trading Deng, you'll have a very diverse set of scoring options with a penetrator/distributor at the 1, a shooter/scorer at the 2, a multi-talented 3, a post scorer at the 4, and an offensive rebounder/finisher at the 5.
In terms of realism, aside from questionable AI, why would Miami trade James for a pile of role players and 2 draft picks well removed from the lottery? And even if this could be justified, don't you want to go through the Heat for maximum satisfaction on your own playoff run?
So bottom line, I think your team would obviously be better with LeBron, but I don't think it's the most enjoyable scenario you can come up with.
I end up playing another 20 games without any trades, and figured out a good rotation where everyones role and idenity, I'm a bit late, sorry about that. Your advice about the 2guard is in the works.Currently playing:
NBA 2K11; Association (Bulls)
NBA:Chicago Bulls
NFL:Dallas Cowboys
MLB:New York Mets
NCAA:UconnComment

Re: The Official Rate My Trade Thread
I dont like your trades but here's why. The 1st trade is ok I can see that happening in real life. But Amare' would not be traded for anything less than a 1st round pick along with McGee, Blatche, and Chandler. Amare is in the top 5 of PF's. But I do see you're trying to build a better team.
Side not I can not play with Al Thorton at all I always get rid of him.

Re: The Official Rate My Trade Thread
Good job on trying to get realistic trades. I think both trades are good caliber, but I think in real life the Nuggets would take the 2 1st round picks and the other players over the other trade.

Re: The Official Rate My Trade Thread
Did some more remoulding to my squad and it now currently looks like this:
Shannon Brown (PG) - 77 Ovr
Mike Miller (SG) - 75 Ovr
Galinari - 66 | Dorrel Wright - 78 (SF)
Stoudamire (PF) -88
Roy Hibbert (C) - 80
Traded Randolph for Hibbert as I needed a legit center who could battle down low and grab rebounds left, right and center (pun). Not sure I'm totally happy with the PG spot as Brown is not the greatest shooter (I'm trying to improve him).Comment

Re: The Official Rate My Trade Thread
In order to give my young players a chance to play and get better in the coming years, I am thinking about letting loose Wallace(and Maxiell), I looked at the trade finder and I was offered the Bulls' 2nd Round pick. Not only would this trade let up a good amount of cap space, but it helps my Pistons who are obviously in the rebuilding phase...and anyways, they aren't physical or tall enough to be a real threat for rebounds and such which I desperatly need, so I feel like I'd be better off with Charlie V/Greg Monroe/Austin Daye as my front court
(They would be going to the Kings)Last edited by AnArtofWar; 12-11-2010, 12:29 PM.Comment
