Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread

Became a starter with my Anthony Davis look-alike two games ago. It was a rough game shooting, was shooting 17% from the game after 3 quarters, but a good game overall. Ended with 12 points only, but had 6 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 steals, and only 1 turnover.

    Last game was very good.

    Hornets at Warriors.

    Anthony Davis:
    39 minutes, 40 points, 14 rebounds, 3 assists, 55% FG

12-2 on the season. Warriors leading the NBA. Started 0-2, won 12 straight.

I wanted to break Wilt's single game scoring record and since scoring is one of the easier things to do in this game...

Had the Bobcats coming up on my schedule and dropped 101 on them. Wasn't as fun as I thought it would be, that's for sure.

I love the Knicks offensive playbook, and I can't live without it.

I'm using the Bobcats as my guinea pigs for HoF. Good thing I know the playbook, because my team-mates have to get good looks to score, unless they're names are me, Carmelo Anthony, or Amar'e Stoudemire...tied at 85-85 with 4:11 left in the game. Waiting until after school to finish off the game. I've been abusing DJ Augustin in the post to get us back in the game.
I don't blame you. A win is difficult to get at this level (superstar). You have just reminded me of the frustration I had on All-Star with my early Rookie Center - Bucks (25 consecutive losses) which is NOT what I want to experience again!

After playing Boston the other night and seeing how STACKED that roster was; playing with Melo & Stoud is not a "over-the-top" advantage with Landry Fields & Tyson Chandler, two defensive specialists. The bench is average at best w (Humpries, Balkman, Brown, Douglas, Shumpert and 2 weak rookies). But the true reason to stay put with this roster and we are not rated as an OVERALL POWERHOUSE (84). We are Average and this is confirmed by the commentary.

        Competition: Wizards & Sixers 83; Spurs & Clippers 84; Lakers 85, Grizzlies 86, Thunder 87, Bulls 89 and Heat @ 91.

I really like your No. 1 option comment. This is probably something that would drive me bonkers trying to become Allen Iverson for 82 games!!!

If I was going to jump would prefer Portland (mirrors NYK with post strength) or a team with a SGs that can hit the 3 consistently. That being said, I probably won't jump until Stoudemire leaves...he keeps me in check with his play (defense) and antics on the court.

When I start freelancing with him at the top of the key he "swivels around" looking down at me like .... where are you going?...you are supposed to give me the ball!"

NYK Playbook: Ah, you are not giving yourself enough credit here. You really mean you don't want to throw away all of the teammate knowledge you have accumulated with excellent team play. As a PG, Knowing who can do What and Where on the court is vitally important for success.

I just found that Balkman likes the baseline jumper, as opposed to the low post, he can almost hit a 3.

HoF: Bobcats? Are you playing with your current player or a new "Rookie"?

I will probably make at least 2 backup files after the season, so I may use one to try HoF, I don't expect too much success on HoF in terms of wins but its good preparation for 2k13.

          They've had it since 2K11.

It's happened to me quite a few times during a quick game when you hit a buzzer beater and barely got it off with 0.3-0.1 seconds left.

I enjoy the challenge of playing on HOF, we maybe blowout our opponents 5 games out the season.

Are you winning with the 3-pt shot or defense?

Defense, I'm the PG, I basically have to help out almost every teammate on defense tho, and can't forget the 8 steals I average(we need those)

I'm on the NYK btw, with Amare, no Melo, no Chandler, actually, only Amare n Bill Walker are there, everyone else is different.

That's encouraging; I noticed that we started winning at Superstar after I started stealing the ball and helping out on the boards (extra possessions are a must).

All or Key games and how much losing did you suffer in the beginning of your career (assuming you started at HoF)?

Just started me a new my player. Athletic PF 6'10 260lbs drafted by the Suns. 1st game had 10pts 5rebs 2ast 1stl in 19min in a 104-95 win over the Thunder at home. Next game vs Lakers, early test in my career vs 2 of the best big men in the game Pau Gasol and Andrew Bynum.

                      SF/ATH/Celtics/Rookie/OVR: 64

Halfway through December in the first season I've played NBA2K. Was drafted at 19 to Charlotte. And having won only 4-5 games so far, I started looking at my trade options. I knew it was going to be rebuilding process, but I wanted a change. Looking at my trade options, I noticed Boston (leading the Eastern Conf over Atlanta by 6.5 games) was interested in me. Buenos! Told the management I wanted a trade and put Boston as my first choice. Played another week or so of games and was informed that I had been traded.

Looked at the details and both Kemba Walker and I were traded to Boston for Rajon Rondo and Keyon Dooling!

The past few games, I've been getting better and have been in the top three for scoring in each game. I haven't followed the NBA for a few years (F-U Clay Bennett) but that trade just blows me out of the water.

My first game with the team, Garnett and Allen are both out due to injuries. We play Atlanta at home. We get blown out by 28 points!

I'm thinking, did I look at the standings right when I asked to be traded to Boston? I played a B- game, which is good for me right now and was 2nd in scoring on the team.

Hoping the next game goes better!

We play against Philly, at Philly.

I had a great game, while Ellis chipped in 20 and Rose chipped in 17. (btw we avg 58 ppg together)

My stat line: 41 minutes, 30 points, 15 boards, 11 assists, shot 8-14 from the field, 4-9 from downtown, and shot 10-11 from the line.

This is my 2nd triple-double of my career. 23 more to go!

I play all games. I lost a lot my 1st season, on PHX, we would lose a lot, I don't remember our exact record, I just know we didn't make the playoffs. I was on PHX, so I didn't expect to win too many games. I was just focusing on producing as much as possible, so that I could get as much skill points as possible.

Just lost a close one to the Lakers in a hard fought come back we came up 2 points short. 78-76 didnt see the end but I have to suppose we lost by a buzzer beater as it was tied 76-76 while it was simming. I had 8pts 6rebs 3ast 1stl in 27min. We were down 15 at one point but fought back in the game in the 3rd. Got it tied in the 4th but came up short at the end. Have to say so far im enjoying just being a scrappy role player right now trying to do a little of everything. I really wanted to play for the Warriors but im kinda enjoying the Suns so imma see where this goes first part of the season.

                              PG?SCORING/KNICKS/SUPERSTAR DIFFICULTY

Arguably, the most well-rounded player in the game (me--not LeBron) continues a MVP season with a 99-91 win over Toronto. Turned in triple-double #4 for the season, as we move to 29-9, tying the Heat (30-10) for 1st in the East. We have two games in hand, so that's a good sign for us. Finished with 22 points (8-17), 10 rebounds, and 15 assists. Trying to exert more effort on the defensive end, and forced Calderon into rare turnovers, and finished with 5 steals, moving me up to 1.8 SPG. Trying to get to around 2.2~2.4 for the season. Carmelo and Stoudemire both had 25 points, and Bogans, Brown, and CJ Miles were sparkplugs for us, scoring 25 points in all.

We play an easier stretch the next 5 games, only going against one above-.500 team (Denver). May experiment with HoF these next few games, but I don't want my team-mates to suck...
