Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
i REALLY hope 2k fixes this. i mean, it makes you feel guilty playing on the 76ers, bobcats, bulls, bucks, cavs, and all those A-C teams. and if you play on the Suns, Timberwolves, Warriors, Wizards, or a S-W team, you wont get any help through the draft at all and have to rely on what they already have/trade for. this makes it so the Grizzlies-Pacers are the only teams i can play on after the first couple years without feeling guilty about getting the top pick or raging because we our rookies are all 50 OVR
I played on the Suns for my original PF and was expecting a high pick to replace Nash or best available, but we got a upper 20s pick.
It really hurts picking teams for my PF when his contract is up. My PF is a perfect fit for the 76ers. They have no PFs and Hawes never progressed. I could come in and provide rebs, blocks, and blocks. But, knowing that they will have #1 pick EVERY YEAR, it wont be fun.
It is not only that the locked draft slots, it is that there isnt no busts and gems. Yeah some players come in low at the top of draft at times, but most because they are defensive players or all around players and yeah you will see a generated player that was drafted late 20s or lower make a 3pt shot at times. But, there arent gems . Most of the players come in at 60-50 and have C or lower ratings. Even though they have better Abilities than us, they are terrible. If there were busts and gems, then I could deal with it.
Not only are the draft slots locked, teams will select the same players every time you upload it. I would like to see players slide and fall. Heck my player ended up in Dallas because I had a negative and "Im better than everyone else" attitude and fell big time.Last edited by illwill10; 02-19-2012, 11:46 PM.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
Does Association have the draft bug? I never tried it out. I can deal with it in MP because it is just about me. But, I would hate to exploit teams by trading 1st round picks with teams like Bobcats, Bucks, 76ers. I would love to start a association with Suns and rebuild them back to powerhouse, but would hate being stuck with an upper 20 pick.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
We lost in what I thought was a for-sure win against the Mavericks. At halftime we were only up by 3 points but Dirk wasn't in because of foul trouble, and it all collapsed. Up until then we were playing perfect basketball, and I don't know what happened. We were eventually down by double digits and when I'm aggitated it's hard for me to focus which is why I'm so unsuccessful with video games. The littlest thing can completely throw me off.
I finished with 18 points and a franchise record (as well as career high) of 20 assists. Because we're on a pretty big losing streak (that started even before I arrived here in Memphis), I'm afraid coach Hollins will be fired even though it's not his fault, it's 2K's cheesiness.
I have a ton of skill points and I don't know what to spend it on. I have a 91 shot inside, 90 shot close, about 90 shot medium, 58 shot 3pt (a big weakness but idk), 90 shoot in traffic, 90 ball security, 90 off hand dribbling, 90 pass, 84 hands, and an ability bonus in hop step layup/dunk and crossover. I don't quite have enough yet to improve an ability and was also thinking on improving my dunk rating which sits at a 55.GT: assassinK24Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
In my first NBA Start with my center, my 16th NBA game, filling in for the injured Andrew Bogut, I put up a Bucks record 80 points, 12 rebounds, 3 steals, career high 6 blocks, while shooting 60% from the field, and shooting 10-15 from the free throw line.
When Bogut come's back and I get put on the bench I might ask for a trade, after consistently playing at a high-level even when he was here I played better than him. My teams right now would be Celtics(the team I just dominated), Heat(Big 3 and me), Thunder(Durant and Westbrook), Timberwolves(Love and Rubio, nice competition for rookie of the year), and Warriors(love Stephen Curry).Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
Not only does the Draft bug makes it hard to pick teams, but being limited to certain teams due to lack of need. Like someone said, Grizzlies-Pacers are the best way to go. I played on the Bobcats. They mainly drafted offensive players at #2. It didnt help during games I played since teammates go cold, but we won most of our simmed games. Ive seen players drafted in the 8-17 range make a impact in games. A PG drafted by Hornets had a 20 pt game against my SGs team.
I dont want to go to a team that has a good rebounding player that will take my rebs away or during sim stats. Being limited to certain teams, hoping they need you, and hoping they have the cap space for you it limits the teams you can choose. It also hurts that can sign a short 1-2 year contract with a team. I would love to sign a CP3 deal where I can sign a 1 year with a player option. I would stay with the Mavs a extra year and wait for a better option to come up the following year. Top Choice is Nuggets. Besides Farried, there arent guys on that team that will take away rebs from me. But, I will have to hope their cap situation is fit for me to get a 10 mil per year deal.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
One thing:
If u r forced to play out off ur position, u will don't have key game match up at ll. On the contracry, if u still be in ur first position, u will face match ups who r forced to play out off their positions.
For example, I am listed as SG/SF.
When I'm a starter at SG (my natural position), Durant (SF/SG) and Westbrook (PG/SG) are starters at SG on other teams. (They moved to other teams in FA and their new teams start them as SGs) I got key game "star match up" with Durant and Westbrook even though both of them were forced to play out off their natural positions.
However, when I was a starter at SF, my 2nd position, (happen to me when I test the game by signing contract with other teams, requesting a trade) I didn't get any key match up at all. Even if I face Melo and Rudy Gay, who are starters at SF rated over 85, the game will not recognize it as my key match ups since I was forced to play out off my natural position. I also didn't get key game when I face Wade (SG/PG) since now I'm a starter at SF and Wade starts at SG.
Basicially, whenever u are forced to play out off your position, no star match up key game anymore. (That will leave your with only a few rival games for the whole season)Comment

CENTER/ATH/KINGS/2nd/OVR: 82
Nothing less than a playoff berth for The Eraser!
SAC Kings: (3-2) - PPG: 26.6, RPG: 8.8, BPG: 3.4, FG%: .613, FT%: .600
We come out strong winning our first three, then drop the next two games. We should be 4-1 but our defensive rotation is poor at this point. Our only point guard Jimmer Fredette (68) is killing us with the turnovers and poor perimeter D (C+). His Basketball I.Q of (B) is really evident in his game play, he is not ready to be a starting Point Guard.
Nevertheless, I got to make it work, WE are the future of this franchise. If you have a MY Player PG you know skills are quite limited with an Overall rating of (68).
Maybe the AI will wake up and trade one of the 4 Centers on the roster for some help at PG? Not looking for a superstar, looking for a "veteran" PG that can play some D for at least a Quarter...GEEZ... Got to be patient with Jimmer...
Our 2 losses went to the Clippers, Cavaliers (FA-Chris Paul) as they showcased (2) superb rookies (Draft Glitch) on their new rosters. Yes, they got 2 good rookies!
Skill Points: Got to fix Free Throws (75), but a little distracted by a post in the main forum that stated because guards are so much quicker than big men -- that is the primary reason post players don't grab as many boards....and guards get a large share of them...
I box out well, but, I am not the best anticipator of where the rebound will come off (too many times I am actually under the basket), so I am going to push up my Quickness (68 to 72) and finish off my Hustle (97-99) before fixing other problems this early in the season.
Then I got to get to his free throws, pass and ball security...yes still getting stripped on the perimeter.
@ illwill10 - I finally got my 1st Putback Dunk; his Dunk is (80); Off Awareness (87)I saved the replay but something is up with 2k servers and it won't upload after 5 tries!

My Center for the Kings was drafted by the Bucks; lost 25 straight trying to play on A-Star level; got frustrated and asked for a trade(48th game) (Kings).
When Bogut comes back he moves to PF as the "French" Forward will get hurt. If you like the Bucks you will love the "Twin Towers" scenario. But if SG-Steven Jackson gets hurt also it gets ugly quick if you don't score!!!
However the way you score; you should see NO difference!!!Comment

I have an old SG file where I purposely tanked the showcase (didn't take one shot) and landed on the Trailblazers. I think I am about to fire him up instead of trying to repeat with Melo & Stoud.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
I play on Superstar. I will start my future SF on Superstar.
I dont really play to win to start off. Even though I play Key Games, I play to get XP.
You way to find ways to win games. Thats why I like playing on defensive teams. Since teammates miss shots alot and CPU gets on "unreal" shooting mode, it is best to be on defensive team.
I played on Bobcats with my SG and due to draft glitch, we drafted alot of offensive players who become ROY. We were one of the top offensive teams when we were simming and an average offense when I played.
I may try this down the road (when I get more guts) with my Kings/Center, probably in Season 4 or 5 when I get a little bored and he becomes just an excessive beast in the paint.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
After 11 games in the NBA, I have gotten my wish. The Bucks traded me and a 2013 2nd round draft pick to Charlotte for Boris Diaw and a 2012 1st round pick. I was really ecstatic about this news and I really can't wait to form the youngest starting lineup in NBA history with Kemba Walker (21) and center Bismack Biyombo (19). I also switched my jersey number from #96 to #2 for that fresh new start feeling and to form that "1-0-2" punch.
In what proved to be my final game as a Milwaukee Buck, a 91-66 win at home to the Nets, I had quite possibly my best all-around game of the season, scoring 30 points (14-32 from the field, 1-2 3PT), grabbing 3 boards, dishing 5 dimes, grabbing 3 steals, and even having a block. I had a teammate grade of A+ and my teammates were even noted as praising me in the press conference. They were probably really angered when they found out that I was traded immediately after the game. But to be honest, I hated being the only player with 20 or more points every game.
That being said, I did have some happy times in Wisconsin. I landed on the cover of the November edition of 2K Sports Magazine, and I was a part of the Bucks "Come Fly With Us" campaign shortly before I was traded. At least I can look back on that and be satisfied. Luckily, the Bobcats and Bucks have the same record (4-7) so there won't be any confusion on the Split Season stats in terms of wins and losses.
Closing comments, I think the trade was great for both parties involved. The Bucks actually get a good PF in Diaw (70 OVR) who can start and eliminate that weakness at the 4. That's a huge step up from being a role player who only averaged under 4 PPG. Kemba, Biyombo, and I have a huge chance to help this team rise above basketball mediocrity and become one of the league's most feared teams in such a small market like Charlotte, North Carolina. I am all ready to make my debut at home against Dwight Howard and the Orlando Magic.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
Created a 6'6 245 lbs Small Forward (my lebron copy basically)
put up 29 pts, 12 rebounds, 3 assists in the showcase.
Got taken by Golden State and now, im struggling. Cant hit buckets to save my life. I have zero assists because I make the pass, they stand there for a few seconds, then shoot it and make it.
Very frustrating experience so far.Xbox Gamertag: mryaz88Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread
I'm thinking I'm finally getting the hang of the spot, I honestly have had more fun with this one than my other mp's I created. I just love knowing I can knock down 3's and grab boards as well.
3rd Game: 25 pts, 7 boards
4th game: 21 pts, 8 boards. And that was heading into the 4th quarter, then I got benched and never came back throughout the fourth.
Thinking i'm going to get my shooting stats up first to a nice 85 and then work on vertical and then dunking.Xbox Gamertag: mryaz88Comment
