Detroit Spreads the Offense In Win Over Clippers

    : 58
    : 54

Player of the Game: Rodney Stuckey (14 PTS, 6 AST, 5-9)
"It feels really good to get a win, especially on the road. After the season we had last year, it's nice to get a road win so early on in the season. You know? Our coach did a good job making sure we all were in the right spots all game long. Beating a team like the Clippers is a huge morale boost."

In my association, I just lost to the T-Wolves by giving up a 17-3 run late in the fourth. Some changes coming to Detroit soon? Check it out in my dynasty blog! (link in signature)

Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread

I gave up on trying to rebuild the cavs because they to young and trying to build around a point guard is kind of hard cause you have to find the right big man and big men in the league are either old or young.

So instead i went back to the team i used last year and picked the Orlando Magic.

I made some trades and my first trade was to get someone that can grow with Dwight and rest of my trades was to dumb salaries to create cap space for the future. First trade i made was this one

Nuggets trade Wilson Chandler(ORL), Timofey Mozgov(IND), Kosta Koufos(ORL)

Magic trade: Glen Davis(DEN), Daniel Orton (DEN), Earl Clark (DEN)

        Pacers trade A.J. Price (DEN).

i did this trade for a few reasons. One for my team(magic) i did this trade cause Wilson is someone Dwight need on his team because he can score, defend, and spread the floor for Dwight and do it consistently.

Pacers needed some depth at the center position and got it in this deal.

Denver needed a solid starter at Power forward, they got Daniel orton who should provide with some depth and a future backup and a backup point in case one of their point guards get injured.

2nd trade i made was between me and the cavs.

Magic trade: Chris Duhon, Hedo Turkoglu
Cavaliers trade: Daniel Gibson, Samardo Samuels.

Did this trade because it helps both teams in some type of way. For the cavs, it gives them a starter, ball handler so Irving can score more, a back up point guard in duhon, and makes their bench stronger now since duhon is on the team and Gee went from starting to the bench. Last but not least it give them leadership skills that a young team needs

For the Magic it helps me because i get rid of players that wasn't getting playing time and make room salary cap wise for the future.

Last and final trade was a three team trade that helped both teams in some way.

This was a three team trade between the Magic, Raptors and Pacers. for the Raptors i moved Demar DeRozan to small forward which left them with no shooting guard.

Magic trade: Quentin Richardson (TOR), J.J. Redick (TOR), Deandre Liggins (TOR), Samardo Samuels TOR)

Raptors trade: James Johnson (ORL), Linas Kleiza (IND), Rasual Butler (IND), Aaron Gray (IND)

        Pacers trade: Lance Stephenson (TOR)

In this deal i gave the raptors, depth, shooters, and young pieces to help core players later on in the future.

Magic, got rid of Redick overpaid contract, traded Quentin contract as well, and got rid of young players that wouldn't have got no playing time.

Last but not least, gave the pacers depth, at center, and gave them some back ups for Danny granger in case he ever get injured.

I signed Greg Oden to be my 6th man, Joey Graham to be my role player to go along with Ishmael Smith.

My starting lineup is Dwight Howard, Ryan Anderson, Wilson Chandler, Jason Richardson, and Jameer Nelson.

Still trying to see if i should put start Dwight at Power Forward and move Greg Oden to the starting line up or Keep Anderson in. So far we are 11-5, 1 game behind the Heat, and 4th overall in the conference.

We are one trade away from being up there with the bulls and Heat. So what do you think about the team and who should i try to target to get and put with Howard and Chandler

Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread

Started season 2 and I have a really good lineup now:
PG: Westbrook (92 overall), Jackson (71 overall), Dowdell (65 overall)
SG: Harden (85 overall), Lee (73 overall), Fields (75 overall)
SF: Durant (97 overall), James (71 overall)
PF: Ibaka (80 overall), Ilyasova (70 overall)
          C: Rookie C (71 overall), Asik (68 overall)
Now to extend Ibaka's and Harden's contracts and I'm set for years to come

I decided to make a fantasy draft association with 58 games a season. This is my team after a couple trades:

            Starting Lineup:
            Pg. Ramon Sessions
            Sg. Kobe Bryant
            Sf. Rudy Gay
            Pf. Kenyon Martin
            C. Anderson Verejao

            Backups:
            Pg. J.J. Barea
            Sg. Courtney Lee
            Sf. Dorelle Wright
            Pf. Taj Gibson
            C. Ronny Turiaf

            Benchwarmers:
            Sg. Kyle Korver
            Sf. Tyler Honeycutt

After a couple games I will make a recap

Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread

Im using Charlotte Bobcats, simmed first season and got Davis from draft and Eric Gordon from free agents.I traded Byron Mullens for Kevein Seraphin and also got Gerald Green, who i really like, cause he is a jumping maniac :P....So far in my second season im 6-8 and i play one game, then sim, then play, sim and so on.So i should get 41 games.
I play on 10 minute quarters and on all-start difficulty.

My roster looks like this :
                    PG-Kemba Walker/DJ Augustin/Matt Carroll
                    SG-Eric Gordon/Gerald Henderson/Brad Beal
                    SF-Gerald Green/Corey Magette
                    PF-Anthony Davis/Tyrus Thomas
                    C-Kevin Seraphin/Desagna Diop

Walker has had 3 different injuries already, but if he is healthy is is very important player for me.Gordon is my best scorer, but i don´t actually like playing with him and might try to trade him.Seraphin and Davis are doing really good job for me on the offensive side and rebounding.Davis is also really good in defense, Seraphin is lacking a bit there, cause he is undersized a bit ,but im working on improving his game :P

Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread

Just started a new offline Association with the Milwaukee Bucks using Trifecta Roster and the 2012/2013 new trifecta draft classes. Looks like the real Bucks aren't making the playoffs so I simulated through the first year to the draft and picked PF/SF John Henson with the 9th Pick and Jae Crowder in the 2nd round. FYI Miami Heat beat OKC in the finals.

                      2012-2013 Season Opener Roster:
                      PG- Brandon Jennings/Beno Udrih
                      SG- Monta Ellis/Mike Dunleavy
                      SF- John Henson/Mbah Moute/Jae Crowder/Tobias Harris
                      PF- Larry Sanders/Jon Leuer
                      C- Ekpe Udoh/Drew Gooden

Trying to build a Defensive power house and I'm debating whether to trade Jennings away for a Starting center or future PG prospect. Whenever Jennings is on my team and not the leading scorer/star it wrecks the team chemistry plus he said he's not resigning with Milwaukee, so I want to build around a play-making PG.

This just an idea, I don't know the actual trade but the base could be Jennings to Thunder and trying to get James Harden then playing Manta Ellis at the Point since he used to be a Point Guard.

Man oh man fellas, after all the back and forth between the bottom teams in the NBA i have finally found a home in Washington. Alot of storylines being played out with this team - can John Wall become one of the league's top point guards and lead the Wizards to the playoffs, can the franchise get better talent around john wall. As new GM im going to try my best to turn this team around in the right direction. Randy Wittman is ok but he just doesnt fit our plans and with D in every category i think that pretty much proves it but he as the job for now as we are interviewing other coaches.

                          Starting Lineup
                          PG John Wall
                          SG Jordan Crawford
                          SF Chris Singleton
                          PF Andray Blatche
                          C Nene
                          6th Man Rashard Lewis
                          PF/C Kevin Seraphin
                          PF Trevor Booker
                          SG Roger Mason Jr
                          PG Shelvin Mack
                          SF Jan Vesely
                          Sf Cartier Martin
                          PF Brian Cook
                          SF Maurice Evans
                          C Drew Cook(D-League)

In the month of december we are 6-10. A rundown of all the games in my next post

Not sure if this is the place to ask this, but being that it's the association thread I am going to assume it is.

I am currently playing a Hornets/Knicks association but that has nothing to do with my question. My question is, is there any way to stop a player from retiring? I remember in 2k11 it was as simple as lowering the age until the off-season. Now the birthdays are blacked out and can't be changed during the association so is there any other way to stop guys like Jason Kidd, Marcus Camby and others from retiring after year one? Im using the Sim-World roster if that matters any.

Thanks, I've always wanted to get James Harden. I always lose out when he's a RFA but I go after him anyways. Monta is small for a SG so I like having longer/better rebounding SG and SF. I might try to go after Evan Turner and turn him into a SF or move Monta to Point like you suggested. As much as I like Ersan, he's going to cost too much and he still has some developing to do. I also try to dumb Drew Gooden, he's too much $ for a 70 rated PF that wants to start.

Can't believe the Warriors gave up Monta Ellis though, he's a stud. I'm building around him and Larry Sanders. Just started from scratch tonight and I'm editing the 2012 draft via the prospect scouting option under general manager. It lets you edit the players in season before the draft. Trying to get it as realistic as possible. Looking to draft #7-#12 and try to pick up John Henson, Harrison Barnes, Arnett Moultrie, or Perry Jones and start them right away. OR: I could package Jennings or Ellis with my 1st round pick to either move up to get a top 5 pick or a star player.

Some options I'm kicking around, what do you guys think?

Jennings or Ellis and #10 1st round pick for #2-#5 overall pick or a starting PG rated 80 or above.

If anyone is looking for a fun franchise team the Bucks are perfect, they're not too horrible where you're stuck rebuilding for 2-3 years. You can make the playoffs the first season as a 6-8 and you have Jennings/Monta Ellis for the following year before Jennings leaves as a Free Agent. Plus all you really need to add is a star SF, PF or C and you have a powerful team.

Just had a great game against Sacramento and won in overtime by 5 points.POTG was A.Davis 15 pts/15rebs/5 stls/3 blocks and Seraphin had most points with 26.Then i simmed a game and won Bucks by 2, so we are 11-11 now.
Next we have back-to-back games against Toronto and Clippers.
