Re: What happens if you DON'T pre-order NBA 2k13?
There's no guarantee that ASW will be a DLC, so if I were some of you who are hoping they will release it as DLC later on, I'd take the guaranteed route of getting it: pre-ordering. (I just did btw for PS3 because I can't be certain they will release an ASW DLC for the PC version of the game, which is what I usually buy, but I need that All-Star Weekend experience for my MyCAREER and Associations).
@Nguyen21: I just pre-ordered the game from Gamestop via Pickup@Store. They won't charge me until I pick the game up for purchase, but going through the online process guarantees Gamestop will order a copy for me so it's there on release day (and the right to charge my card 5 bucks restocking fee if I don't pick it up within 48 hours after release day, but that will never happen lol). Gamestop ships their new releases out via overnight shipping. If you want it shipped to your home so it's there on release day, you have to choose overnight shipping or it will take 2-7 business days to arrive. Also, in that case, you will be charged once your item ships.Last edited by strobox88; 09-27-2012, 03:05 PM.Comment

That would be absurd not to make it DLC! What good would that do?
Piss off customers and lose out on potential revenue down the road. I give it a 0.05% possibility that it's not a DLC down the line. It would be really poor marketing mistake.Comment

Only incentive to pre-order a game that will not sell out is for the company selling the game not the consumer. It's about money and how much can be sold on day one/week one etc. not hating but I aint gone act like they gotta do it and they doing it for us.Last edited by HisMommaCallHimClay; 09-27-2012, 04:28 PM.Imma call'm Clay.Comment

Re: What happens if you DON'T pre-order NBA 2k13?
I'm getting it from a local store by my house that has sold games a few days early for years now, i should be getting 2k13 tomorrow or at the latest Monday. And they are not sure if they will have the all star pre-order content even though i pre-ordered the game. I hope they will make the all star content somehow buy-able or else i will be without the featureComment

Re: What happens if you DON'T pre-order NBA 2k13?
I don't think the classic Kings and Warriors teams were made available to everyone as DLC last year so I would have my doubts the ASW DLC will be any different.PSN: PanicshadeLWK
XBL: Nyteshade517

Re: What happens if you DON'T pre-order NBA 2k13?
I considered that line of thought, but I do think we're dealing with two separate entities here. One was a couple of random classic teams, which were important to many (definitely to myself) but I'm not sure we can say they were can't-miss. On the flip side, ASW is an entire mode and to not allow non-pre-order gamers to access an entire mode of the game they buy would be very strange and unfortunate. I think the odds are in favor of a DLC release, maybe around the real life All-Star Weekend.Comment

Re: What happens if you DON'T pre-order NBA 2k13?
If you guys head over to the 2k forum it clearly says you can buy it as a DLC if you don't preorder. If you preorder it's free if you don't preorder it's gonna cost but you can buy it. Case closed.I'm just that good!Comment

That's what THQ did for WWE12. Advertised a special copy with The Rock in it(and special code to unlock him), yet not only was he available in the online store to buy just a few months later, but most copies(even non pre-order) came with a code to get him.Comment

Which might make people think that they will have it available in the future. If they told people now that eventually it'll be released in ps store and stuff, less people would pre-order.
