Another thing I suggest is if you can't get open ever, why not set screen for your teammates? Not only will you help your teammate, it can help you get open, and it raises your teammate grade too. If you miss layups too often, maybe try raising your layup more. Shoot in traffic and vertical would help as well for your style of playing.
Thanks, I guess the sliders might work in non-myplayer (since you can't use sliders in my player)

I set loads of screens for my team - what I used to do in 2k11 was call for screens offf-ball, then blow past my check and their big man and call for a pass or alley-oop. I can't do it in this game because it's harder to get an effective screen AND my team-mate will pass to me before I can take advantage of the screen if I'm on ball side 100% of the time. Try this and you'll see what I mean. I just feel like off-ball I'm stuck engaging even when I'm trying to avoid contact - I just get stuck in those animations.

When I am open for a jumper my foot is usually on the 3pt line and my deep shooting isn't that great (70) I think in this year's game it needs to be more like 80. And I agree with those suggests but they cost VP and VP aint easy lol

one thing I do is do a black top game 1on1 after every 2 or so myplayer games for an easy 160 VP, I just drop 3's with Tirkaglu from the magic against any pg or sg and I've won every single time doing this.

So I'm guessing everyone knows about the play art not being there! lol any word if this will be patched?

My only other 2 concernes are these:

      1) Is anyone here good at blocking? In any mode? I have an "eraser" and have used guys in other modes with this (Shawn Kemp mostly) and Not only do I rarely get a block while focusing on it more than anything else... but I believe I've only seen one emphatic rejection in a game, and one other in black top. Is there something I need to understand to get more/better rejections?

      2) Off-ball offense. I find it VERY hard to get open. I'm an athletic SF, but when I get the ball, I find it hard to get to the basket - fine...but I'm finding it TOO hard. In about 18 games I've only had 1 alley-oop dunk and 5 actual dunks max. I go to the rim and miss layups while being fouled quite a bit (even though I'm a 'finisher') which is fine, but I feel like I'm stuck in glue most of the time. It's almost like suction blocking in Madden, I'm boxed out near the 3 pt line or 5 ft in from it during many shots(shame because I'm hustle hands or whatever put-backs are for), AND before I shot I can't make cuts to the net, get behind opponents etc. I feel STUCK so much of the time with those engagement animations and can't ever break free. Any tips here I'd love to hear. I'm starting to think the only answer is going to be crazy high handles ratings which would suck, because that's not the case irl
I'm a 6'3 point guard and I have got 22 blocks in 44 games and I havent touched my blocking or vertical (it must be in the 30s or so) and im not even trying. Some of those games were simmed too, so I'm probably averaging near 1 block a game in the ones I play in.

I find it WAY too easy, then again, I always have in every 2k game

It seems to be something in the game coding.. in 2k12 my created big men had shots blocked by PG's 6 inches shorter..and my PG/SG players always averaged just over 1 per game

Finally took down heats 4-2 in the NBA finals. lost game 5 75-81 after some awful shooting in the 4th from me and TY LAWSON. he just dont wan to pass and get shot blocked all the way. man, i hate him and i went to GM to complain about not getting along with him before game 6. GM just brushed me off. went to final game and won 115-105.

40pts 4steals 12assist 2 rebounds and a great game all around to clinch the MVP trophy. seriously hate guarding dwayne wade, my A+ grade rating still eludes me due to me letting wade scores way too often. (37pts)

Went to GM after clinching the finals, complained abt ty lawson agn, he refused to offer any transaction saying it wont benefit the team @_@ he will arrange for some meet ups to solve problem. wth? team option of another year too so cant ask for contract extension.

good news though, went to rotation and finally i took over the PG role with ty lawson dropping to 6th man and faried coming back into PF role.

cheers! swtiching to higher difficulty for new season!

After 4 starts I'm back on the bench for a road game vs 76ers, lost my starting job after the calling timeout at the end of the 4th quarter down by 3 I guess.. which is really stupid because a defensive rebound with under 20 seconds left in 4th quarter.. down 3 points.. you call timeout and set up your play

It took until this 19th game for the game to start screwing me over with knocking my attributes down IN-GAME from what they actually are.. It's not an injury.. there's no down arrow on the player card for an injury.. my Overall is 66 but my in game overall is 63.. here we go again, 2K's way of evening the playing field when you start getting decent.. right after the 16 point 17 rebound 8 assist game where I was benched for calling timeout in the final 20 seconds.. is this supposed to force my player to be unhappy or something stupid like that?

Minutes cut in HALF.. STILL can't make a layup on the road either

well this sucks. my save file is essentially wasted now. get to the end of my 3rd season and after w/e team wins the playoffs (changes 'cause i've done this 3 times) the game freezes.

wth am i supposed to do with my guy now?

My SF is 9th in the league in free throw attempts now with 107 in 19 games.. only made 81 for 76%.. 11 of 14 last game where my attributes were messed up. Only player on the team even sort of close to free throw attempts I've taken is Rondo.. and that's only 65 attempts. Garnett hasn't taken one in 2 games and still only has 22 attempts.

Funny stuff too.. next home game, back to back 76ers.. I'm back to a starter.. I went and did the whole GM 'i like what coach is doing' then accidentally hit the A instead of B and next said I don't like the direction.. oops hope I don't get random traded.

My attributes are still messed up from what they're supposed to be, yet again for the home game overall down to 63 like last time when my actual overall is 66.

                      33/31. That's Ray Allen's from last year. Or 73/25, that's the 2k generic

Created a 7'0 - 275 all-around center. The Rookie Showcase was ok, not stellar but not a bad game. Got drafted by the Pistons (to my surprise, since they already got Greg Monroe) and after 8 games, we're 5-3 (that's a mystery to me!).

I'm not a basketball freak, and I'm not that good at the game. I'm playing All-Star sim games. I was expecting, with the team and the schedule, a 1-7 start or so. We beat the Lakers!?!? and Thunder ?!? so far, but we're ran out of the building against the Rockets and the Suns. Most game end with a difference of 7-12 points. Last night, we we're dismantled by 40 against OKC, and it felt normal after the beating we handed them the week before.

The toughest thing in the MyCareer is the VC system. I'm fine with a 64 ov player to begin the year, but it's tough getting better quickly. Facing Dwight Howard is asking a lot. Not talking about moving me at PF, we're I'm just not build to keep pace with big, agile and quick players.

The game still goods, but I don't want to play 300 blacktop games to get VC cash so I can be a 80 ov guy, I'm not asking for this. It's just that when a coach play you 29 minutes in a game and you don't have the stamina, you kind of fall in a hole quickly.

Big men are hard to develop. Just like in real life. It's hard but obviously the better you do each time the better you'll get to earn more. Just try focusing on Getting a good teammate grade. Set ALOT of screens, that's easy teammate point. And box out, and grab rebounds. Try not to focus on scoring as a big man until skills are develop, will end up just taking longer

Thanks. It's almost what I do every game. I'm getting an A+ as teammate grade average. Screens are my friends. In last few games (we got destroyed both times) I got double-double (16-11 and 14-11) but overall, it's 8 PPG and 6 RBG. I've got a tough time boxing out the guy I'm covering (my guy tend to slip aside and beat to the ball).

I'm seeing this as a long term project, beeing a star around year 3 or 4. It's just make the game more realistic and fun that way. The only thing I'm wondering is where I should spend my VC. I'm don't know the impact of abilities like I'm for NHL, so I'm wondering if the best thing to do is put points on stamina so I don't get exhausted since the coach won't pull me out at times, or on strengh, speed and such.

Yeah I always put up my stamina for big men. You can get the Gatorade sig skill if you want to save energy in the 1st quarter.

Since your not scoring primarily, I'd put my points in (however many you want) stamina, vertical (helps on rebounds, jumpshots/jumpballs and blocks) rebounding, block, on ball d, and as soon as you start posting up put it in strength/low post offense, and post hook/fadeaway (whichever you choose). But I would def start out with stamina, vertical, rebounding and block for the firsts ones

I'd also get the brick wall skill if I was you.. Helps so much

Gatorade and Brick Wall skills! Might be the "Signature Skills" I din't take a look at since I tought that I couldn't afford any of them before a few season! :-)
