Re: Official NBA 2K13 MyCareer thread

Just got my first career Triple-Double!

I'm a 6-6 scoring (athletic) point guard, in my 43rd game. I had 36 pts, 10 rebs and 12 assists against the Spurs, blowing them out on their home court.

I'm a shoe-in for Rookie of the Year.

Having a blast - just loving, loving, LOVING this game! Thanks 2K!

Re: Official NBA 2K13 MyCareer thread

So we beat the Thunder in 7 games for the NBA title. In game 6 I went 30-12-8 and won player of the game. I got the little coach message that I'll be getting more playing time, and then game 7 I am coming off the bench.

I won Finals MVP. And the next season I'm on the bench behind Brandon Knight. Despite having a higher Overall, better stats, and fricking Finals MVP.

The rotation logic is clearly broken and now I've had to demand a trade. At the beginning of the season I told management that I was being blocked by Knight and they said they'd do something. A month went by and nothing. The team went 5-15 with me stuck as 6th man (simming). I would have tried to play my way into a starting role but I know what will happen, the AI will get confused and constantly shuffle me between the starting lineup and the bench regardless of how I play.

Very frustrating that myCareer has a lot of cool things and then a bunch of stupid things like this.

If you want your guy to be a scoring machine when you simulate so your averages don't go down, get all the sig. skills that Kevin Durant has. They're all offensive skills, shot creator, spot-up shooter, dead eye, microwave, anti-freeze.
what type of pg are you (athletic, scoring etc etc)and what is your rating? and height?

i had finisher, shot creator, ankle breaker, posterizer and gatorade. might start over with an pg anyway to run plays and become a scorer

I wish you could change your height

My SG is 6'5 225 ..now i know that's not exactly PG size but my passing is higher then most of my team
2k12 was better in a way with some editing options you had

Really don't know how i feel about this.

Started over with harden on the rockets. drafted 28th by okc. I had 24 pts a b- rating in the showcase. But was projected 14th overall so i wanted to drop a few spots to the mavs so i tanked my interviews.

Put up 13 points in my debut. Simulated to next key game to ask for a trade to the mavs. After creating a few saves to try multiple times for a good trade, i kept getting traded to milwaukee and golden state. Finally i got traded to the lakers and put up 28 points and 6 rebounds on the heat. We dominated by 40 points on superstar.

It feels so wrong, but yet so right!

My PG is 6'3" 185lbs athletic and an 89 overall in his 3rd year.

My 5 Signature Skills (all level ones):
                1 - Floor General
                2 - Dimer
                3 - Shot Creator
                4 - Pick Pocket
                5 - Defensive Anchor

I play on the New York Knicks, and we lost Carmelo Anthony in the free agency because he wanted a long term deal, so he went to Dallas.

                My team right now:

                PG: Me
                SG: Iman Shumpert
SF: Michael Beasley (asked for him via trade, they traded Stoudemire)
                PF: Andray Blatche
                C: Tyson Chandler

Re: Official NBA 2K13 MyCareer thread

Sup everyone, longtime reader, first post.

Fell in love with MyPlayer/Mycareer back with 2k11 and after a year off I'm hooked again on 2K13.

Created a 6'7'' Athletic SF. Lefty out of Denmark (wanted a little international flavor). Got drafted by the Magic after a ho-hum performance in the rookie showcase. After selling out and buying a 10,000 VC pack (just to bring him up to a competitive level out of the gate), I led a surprisingly fun Magic team to the sixth seed in the east.

Even though the team sucked, they had enough 3 pt shooters to keep up. We played the Knicks in round one, and I had my hands full with Carmelo. Even with fairly high speed/quickness ratings, it just seemed like any time Carmelo had a step it was an easy 2 pts. The only good thing is you know what kind of night it's going to be by the second quarter. Melo is either ON or he's way, way off. Fell down in the series 0-3, then battled back to force a game seven. Lost bye 5, cried for a good 15, then moved on.

Year 2, Sorenson (my player) is ready to ascend into superstardom, but the Magic just don't have enough firepower to help me get out of first round. 2 of our top 3 shooters are gone (Reddick/Harrington), who both happened to have the quickest trigger fingers (seriously, afflalo is no help because he almost always drives, even with solid looks from the outside).

Seeing $10M in cap space and the lack of talent on the roster, I go to the GM and request a trade. I had also taken notice of the CP3 to cleveland and Dwight Howard to Detroit moves, so I requested a trade to the Pistons (and Jazz and someone else irrelevant too) and get shipped to Detroit for Greg Monroe.

Holy Crap. Playing with another dominant player who is NOT a dominant ballhandler is insanely fun. Dwight is basically a safety net, if I'm not hitting from midrange he's almost always there to grab boards and get putbacks. Plus, since he plays down low, I feel like I'm not totally disrupting the offense when I call for a pass.

As the season rolls along we are battling Miami for the one seed. Frequently checking the NBA rumor mill, I see that Kyrie Irving is unhappy with the crowded backcourt in Cleveland, and suggest him as one of the guys to go after in a GM sitdown.

Three games later we trade Stuckey and B. Knight for Irving. So now our starting five is:

                  PG: Irving
SG: J.R. Smith (so good when he's hot, absolutely a team-killer when he's not)
                  SF: Sorenson (myplayer)
PF: Jerebko (not terrible, run no plays for him but he gets boards and layups)
                  C: Howard (owns the paint)

We have Gilbert Arenas as our 6th man and a bunch of other Piston scrubs rounding out the bench. The only thing I don't like is that we're not developing Drummond at all. He got like 5 mins a game when we had frontcourt injuries, but he's always our 12th guy/doesn't play at all.

Cruised to a one-seed, somehow lost the MVP to Durant (who was outperformed by Westbrook in almost every way), and now I'm grinding through the playoffs trying to snag a championship.

Swept the Hawks in Rd. 1. Then had to play the Knicks in Rd. 2. Went down 2-0, won game 3 on the road.

Game 4, down 12 in the fourth, Sorenson (having hit 0 threes in the first three quarters) decides to stop watching JR Smith brick away our season and takes over, hitting 4 threes in the final minutes and two in OT to steal a W (finished with 46). From then, we never looked back. Won in 6.

ECF vs. the Heat. LeBron gets the best of me in Game 1, I respond with an efficient game 2 W. Game 3 in Miami, had a 39, 10 and 9 with 45 seconds left, game freezes. I about lost my damn mind, but calmly put down the controller and went to bed. Hopefully it doesn't happen again (there were framerate issues the whole game, so hopefully if i play again I'll be able to bail earlier if the issues flare up--nothing like wasting 40 minutes only to lose it all with 30 seconds to go).

Even with all the mode's faults, it's still ridiculously fun to play. Easily the best "control one player" mode out there. Translates so much better than in a football game, on the hardwood one guy can have such a huge impact on both sides of the floor (though I suppose similar hockey modes are pretty cool too)

Anyway that's all for now, thanks for reading if you did.

Blatche took Stoudemire's spot once he left. He's not that great since he's morale is still low from riding the bench lol, but he has a mean mid-range jumper that's almost automatic.

I was the 7th overall pick and went to Golden State originally. I got a 2 year-team option of 526 SP. I got tired of playing SG b/c Steph Curry was running the point, so I asked for a trade after my rookie year.

The Knicks picked up the team option for my third year. I'm gonna be a free agent after the season so I'm curious to see what offers I get.

I start up the game and enable play vision to all/full as it has been advised in all the threads, offense plays to manual. Load up my career, have play vision on here also. But play vision still doesnt show up after selecting player/play during the game. What am I doing wrong?

Somewhere I read you have to buy a signature skill for that? Team chemistry has to be high enough?
