lol, me and my friends did a similar thing to this on NHL awhile back. We made players, and rated each other the rating we think we'd all be in real life. Obviously the ratings were all real low lol(since even a 50 overall in NHL video game is still good enough to play on a main hockey team in europe or something).

Noooooo wayyyyy. If I did that I'd be a 5'10" post player with 0's across the board on defense. My hook shot would be money though.

Yes, you can flop in this game. Just double tap the "take charge" button (B on the 360) and your guy will flop.

For the most part, other than the obvious fact that my RL strengths/weaknesses are "magnified" enough to have me making the league lol.

IRL I'm 6'2" but I made MP 6'3".. .. In college I was a SG/SF, in 2K13 I'ma PG/SG. But yeah, I try to stick to my game IRL, slasher, decent midrange game, decent spot-up 3pt shooter, and focusing on on-ball D. I've even refused to equip any dunk packages other than the basic 1- and 2-handers off 1 foot, due to not being able to do ANYTHING fancy, even at the height of my leaping ability I pretty much got just enough elevation to maybe **** it back a lil, and never dunked off two feet.

This is the 1st year I've used myself. My younger bro has been playing pro overseas for awhile, but every year he plays in the NBA summer camp, so I always created him. It felt more "realistic" being that he could certainly be in the league right now.

Plus he's 6'5" and wins dunk contests over there lol. There's just something about doing fancy dunks and dunking in traffic that I can't see "me" doing. LOL

Maybe that's my problem. I haev 3/3 finisher and i don't really think it works for me since i could never make my contact layups go in even with very minimal defense/bumps. Same thing with my pickpocket 3/3. Removed the latter since it was useless at the moment.

What should I increase in order to make my guy attempt more dunks. I have 85 vertical and 85 dunk, but it seems like only if it's a wide open lane, will my guy ever go for a dunk.

But half the times there's a wide open lane, my guy seems to hesitate too much and by time he's running through that open lane, he gets cut off. When in real life, when opportunities like that happen, guys finish with a dunk most of those times.

Does it mean I have to get posterizer signature skill?

i had an athletic pg out of the gate, never touched dunk or vert and I've never had a problem dunking (if I have a lane, its going down). Do you have any dunk packages equipped?

Re: Official NBA 2K13 MyCareer thread

1st key game of my 7th season, ended in a blowout win against Wolves. Say what you want but besides Thunder, they are toughest to beat because of mismatches. I really like this team. I wasnt sure how good we were. I had my best game in 2 seasons(6th man last year). I had 24(10-21 FG), 20 assists, 5 rebs, 6 steals(career high), and 1 blk. My stats werent the most impressive. I can say this way my best defensive game as a pro. I held Rubio to 9pts and he had 7 TOs.

My teammates(starters) showed out in that win. All had over 13 pts. D.Blair had 22pts, 14 rebs, 2 steals. John Jenkins had 16. Ewing(former ROY) had 15pts. Mullins(former #2 OVR pick) had 13pts and 11 rebs. This game showed that I dont have to go off to win games. This was my 1st 13+ assist game(key game) in a few seasons because I dont have the players to contribute consistently. What I really like as the rebounding. Both Blair and Ewing dominated the glass. Now I can get back to the True-Point guard I once was. I was playing reckless and out of control. I would just call ISOs and turn the ball over(when I did the spin move). I was running plays, but not enough. I can run the halfcourt offense.

If we can make the playoffs this year, we might be a darkhouse team. Like I said, we can score with/against anyone. We have the rebounding to get/prevent second chance pts. With Blair having Brick Wall skill, PNR will be nice and players coming off his screens will have open shots. The main ways we are going to win games is Taking High % Shots, Rebounding, and winning the TOP. Doing those 3, in most games we should have great chance of winning. What we need to work on is defense, limiting turnovers, and limiting Fast Break pts/opportunities. When I talk about defense, I mean mainly myself and our low post defense. If I can play like the way against Rubio, it would go a long way in improving our game. But, our big men need to step up around the paint.

Loving the loose ball fouls. Just had one where Bargnani outhustled Hawes for the Def Reb, but just as he threw the outlet, a teammate of his threw Hawes to the floor and it was a very late whistle & I got the ball back.

Also have some really nice blowbys saved, where on the secondary break I ended up with Millsap on me, went from a light jog to full turbo, just accelerated past him for an easy layup. Nice to see things like this that weren't even possible in past 2K's.

Finally got the starting nod, and it seems my constant complaining about J.Rich didn't get him traded (yet), but he is now at the end of the bench & his ratings are WAY down, so it worked. I'd actually like them to trade him while he's still decent.

Man, I can't say it enough: Nick Young is just so beastly. I've been telling the GM he should play more, ands he's been getting more mins and straight balling. I just give it to him and he goes to work. Any space upon catching and it's lights out. But as he plays more I see he's way more than a shooter. Hits off the dribble, posterizes people on the break, and can hit contact layups regularly.

Holiday too. He's avg'ing 18.5ppg 8apg 4rpg 2spg. Alongside him I'm avg'ing 21ppg 7apg 2rpg. Bynum is doing his usual 22, 11 & 2, and we have Thad Young leading the league in FG%. We are poised to repeat. 8-4 after some tough recent losses though vs IND and TOR.

Oh and uh, yeah add me to the "CP3 in CLE alongside Irving and Waiters" list. Whoever the Cavs fan is on the 2K dev team who has the CP3 obsession, just come clean. Or at least patch it so they make a reasonable trade for him. LOL

                    7'2" center:

I tank the rookie showcase and get drafted by the Bulls thinking this is perfect. 14 games into the season (superstar, 10 min qt) and we SUCK! The damn guards keep letting the opponents behind them. Anyways, I demand a trade to the Heat and get....the Pacers? I have to say though, it has Been fun. We play better defense on the break with George out there though I can't say I find Augustine all that good. Anyways, they have me in the starting roll with Hibberd on the bench. We are actually making headway.

What I do find annoying....other than the offensive rebounding issue, is that only my scoring is going up with my min. I averaged 11 rebounds from the get-go. Now I am at 12 though I playing 20 more min a game. I have my 15 rb game here and there but mostly I have to work my tush off for those rebounds. The game seems to decide that I will get 5 in the first quarter and no more until the 4th. I feel invisible out there! Guards drive the lane and Manage to avoid my block over and over again. I have one image where the ball is in the middle of my neck....not the edge or just touching...in the middle. No block. Hmmmmm. I think the program takes you out of the picture so to speak. In replays of blocks my arm will disappear.

Still love the game and look forward to the patch. Just wish I played more games for VC instead of cheese'n it up on the phone app or doing playoff sims.

Maybe up your quickness so he can hit the hole faster? I have a 6'3" PG with 80 dunk and 90 vertical and he dunks all the time. Maybe you need to equip more dunk packages. I have all the dunk slots filled.

both good advice. you need space to dunk though, it doesnt have to be alot but there has to be room for you to elevate before contact or it just becomes a contact layup. and with the dunk packages you wanna make sure you have different types of dunks from different angles to maximize your chances of actually getting a dunk animation. think there's like 15 slots for them fill as many as you can, even with the basic rimgrazer dunks.

I think its just a problem for certain people to dunk.

when i play CAL as Mcgee he barely dunks.

when in real life if u give a him a slight opening the is going for highlight reel

Hey, what's with all these super-saves by the CPU?

Too often I see a player on my team get a steal, or a blocked shot only to see the ball fly out of bounds and the other team jumps out of bounds and throws it back to one of his guys like nothing happened. I'll even see stuff like it'll HIT THE BACKBOARD AND FLY OVER EVERYONE'S HEAD only to land perfectly in someone's hands and then they pass it to the open guy and drain it.

i even have had an animation ('ll try and upload the video tomorrow or something) where my teammate gets the ball, bobbles it, and it floats through the air defying all physics to the other team.

                            It's absolutely ******* ridiculous.

1st key game showed are potential and the 2nd key game showed our weaknesses. Two opposite games. Blew out the Wolves, then got blown out by Wiz. Even though blowout occurred when I was on the bench, I know what was our weakness is. Our main weakness is our defense around the paint. In the 1st game, Derrick Williams went off on us. Wasnt just that in the 2nd game, it was that we gave up a lot of second chance points and got dominated in general on the glass. It didnt help that our SG Ewing went cold (3-13). With me playing less aggressive role than in previous years, I need my players to be more consistent. If not, I get too aggressive. Next game, I will run different plays. I was just running the best plays.

This is a completely different team(Pacers) from when I 1st got there 4 seasons ago. There is only 3 players(including myself) from that team. Me, Devin Harris, and Barker(didnt play my 1st season). I been trying to get rid of both Barker and Harris since my 1st year.

We still need a backup SF and PF. I can ask for trade suggestions since we have a losing record(6-7), but I dont want to risk losing a starter or a possible lottery pick. I want to get Warren(PF) back. But, he is probably a starter now. As far as SF, I might look for a SF that is rated around 72-75. I either want a spot up shooter, or a defender.

As you say, the ai loves to turn your "tipped passes" , "strips", etc into easy buckets... but I've learned to expect it and turn about 50% of them into immediate turnovers ...

One play sequence I had 3 steals in about 5 seconds because I initially stole it, had it stripped, stole it back immediately, had my pass "tipped", then "intercepted" their outlet pass... I kid you not. (Allstar/sim settings).
