Thanks, I watched some of the video and figured out that I probably need to score more instead of going for assists.

        Quest for Number 1 update

First Quarter: 9 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 assist 0 turnovers as an athletic point guard.
        Edit
Second Quarter: 13 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal and 0 turnovers.
        Edit
Third Quarter: 21 points, 11 rebounds, 8 assists, 1 steal and 0 turnovers.
        Edit Final game Stats
        25 points, 13 rebounds, 11 assists, 4 steals, 0 blocks, 0 turnovers, 1 foul.
If I don't get picked number one after a Triple Double I'm snapping my disc in half.
        Edit
Got picked number 3, I wont snap my disc though to add insult to injury i got no VC from that game.

I hate how you can't manipulate the results of other games anymore because of the auto save function. The Wizards & Bobcats make the playoffs but yet the Spurs & Clippers regularly miss out, wtf?

Is anyone else planning on imposing a self cap? Like my player is a 90 overall with good offensive game and good defense and once I get my post fadaway to 80 and my offensive post to 90, Ill stop upgrading my character entirely in terms of stats. My 3pt shot is a 60 and i think im leaving it there. If not then 70 is the max Im doing. I thought about it and didnt want my char to be a 99 overall, its just not realistic to me. Im already a NBA champ who worked his way to his spot, so being on lebron level would just be too crazy for me.

Re: Official NBA 2K13 MyCareer thread

After getting bored with my Athletic PF for Toronto. I decided to start a new SF.

3 point specialist, my first time doing that one for any 2k game. I want to say I am having a lot of fun, it's easy but fun. Not playing every single game (would take forever to finish my career) and only key games.

Got drafted by the Cavs. Was projected to go #2 to the 'Cats, not hating on the Bobcats but I was happy they passed on me because I get to play with Irving and this is the first time in a My Career mode that I'm not already thinking of what other teams to go to.

BTW, I didn't do much to get projected into the top 3. I think it was that I was a 3 point shooter and just drained all of them. I mean I was about at 70% from 3 and scored over 30.

Have been averaging 10ppg and got to go to the Rookie showcase.

Lets just say I dominated. Was playing SG and drained 15 threes, scored 67 points

It's just too bad that wasn't a real game

I'm through my first two months with the Lakers. The team is terrible outside of Me, Lebron and Kobe(Who is fading fast)...but we're still top of the conference. Lebron and I are averaging nearly 30 pts each. Kobe is only averaging 15 per game. I expect him to retire at the end of the season which will free up and ton of cap space to hopefully sign a quality big man.

Playing alongside Lebron, I quickly figured out that if you throw it to the basket, he'll always be there to get it. I also quickly learned that the Alley-oop sig skill is straight cheese. Especially if you play with someone with the dunking ability of Lebron, Rudy etc...

Think i'm 59-60 games into my 3rd season so far (I've played all games in my career, not key gaming any except for in the playoffs.) and interested for the off season to see if my team can make a couple of moves seeing as Aldridge is not resigning with us, or most likely won't. I hope they do since Paul Millsap hasn't been as consistent as i'd like him to be for me on Offensive but he is doing a good job with rebounding as I expected.

Nolan Smith too has surprised me as of lately with his shooting, i've let him run this game more then I use to and he's done very well so I actually like him at point but still prefer a better defensive PG.

                          Quick help here please.

I'm the starting SG for GSW. Since I switched to HoF/default I just won 2 games. My stats are good almost triple-double (30-8-9) every game but my team always looses. It's like all our opponent are always hot and never misses. Or my team defense is just bad? Also my opponents always get the rebound making Lee, Bogut, Landry, Wilson Chandler look like kids and could not get any rebound. My team chemistry is already 100.

Should I go down to Superstar level? Or should I change to sim instead of default (or this will get my @$$ being kicked harder)?

Late response, sorry. I'd go down to superstar...I also heard Sim with HOF is extra cheesey, i've never done Sim though so i'm not sure if it's true or not.

WOO!!! My Lakers just got the inside presence we've been looking for. Just traded Karl Black(Role Player, 4 star 73 overall) and 2016 1st rounder for Greg Monroe(87 overall, 4.5 star). My roster now looks like:

                              PG: Me
                              SG: Kobe
                              SF: Lebron
                              PF: Pau(Hurt atm)
                              C: Monroe
                              Bench: Turrible

If I don't win a title this year, I'm retiring.

Re: Official NBA 2K13 MyCareer thread

I am a 6'7, 235 lbs. SG/SF, with a Scorer mentality skill set. I play on 12 min quarters, Pro/Sim. I was drafted to the Rockets.

I made the starting lineup as a SF after about 10 games and took over for the struggling Chandler Parsons. My team is 26-4 right now, but not really because of me. Kevin Martin is a 3pt MONSTER. He's leading the league with around 34ppg right now. And Jeremy Lin is killing it as well, getting about 20ppg and 10 dimes. Patterson (starting PF) is doing quite well with 16ppg and 10.5 boards/gm. Omer Asik is...just plain blah. I've already complained to coach about him and I hope to get a trade going. Ideally, we can send Asik and Parsons off in return for a big, strong inside presence. Asik gets pushed around and can't score, rebound, or pass.

As for me, I get about 10.5ppg, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists a game. Although my skillset was to be a scorer, my shooting pct. is atrocious. I am 4th to last in the ENTIRE league in EFG%. I do think that it is me taking bad shot selections with bad release timing. At first I focused on long jumpers, but have recently started focusing on quickness/layup so I can drive more and shoot a higher percentage. In addition to quickness/layup skills, I try to focus my skill points on being a solid defender and rebounder more than a scoring machine. Kevin Martin and Lin seem to have scoring locked up; and as a whole, my team needs more D and rebounding. So I will oblige for now.

I just got selected as NBA Rookie of the Month and made the cover of a magazine. I can't wait to see how the season unfolds; the Spurs, Golden State, and my team are seemingly on a collision course.

I freaking love this game. I played the crap out of NBA2K11 for two solid years (two full seasons with BOS) until I bought this one. This years' edition seems to be much harder to build a player up quickly and dominate, and therefore is much more rewarding. The move towards a more RPG-like experience is great, and even gets my wife interested in it somewhat (she likes the press conferences).

Sorry for the length, but my favorite part of this thread is reading people's stories about their player. Let's hear some more!
