Anyone who plays zone is a straight up coward. That's all I gotta say. Every effing game wow... CPU-dependent cowards.

I laugh at the people who zone the entire game from start to finish.

Miami Heat also didnt have to deal with slow passes, small court ratio leading to being able to close out all over the court, Not being able to post up.

2ksports. Please implement passes with more velocity for 2k14. I'm sick of 1-3-1 zone and trying to hit the open man only for it to take an eternity to get to him and allow these zone users to recover every time. That alone with the bobbled passes just makes going against these zone sickening.

So basically you want to score all the time? If you play someone who knows how to play great D regardless of set, its going to be difficult. In the 1-3-1 not only am i vulnerable to a 3point fest but usually I have no guys underneath to rebound after the shot. It's not overpowered you just need to get better at adjusting.


Like I said in the another thread, zone can be powerful for one reason only.
NO ONE LIKES TO ADJUST.

Everyone wants to run that same offense that put them on a 8 game winning streak. Suddenly your next game is against a player who is great in the zone and you keep trying to run your same 8 game winning streak plays, so you lose and in frustration you now want to label the zone cheese. Start playing with more than one game plan.

Check the thread above another poster complaining about getting beat every time he runs zone. There's a counter to everything in this game, adjust, adjust , adjust.

Totally agree...I actually went on an 8 game winning streak and picked up magic. Moved to the second seed and went on a three game losing streak because I played who had great zone defense.

I will figure them out eventually and the bloodbath will commence again...

I disagree. Zone is easy to beat if you know the weakness. Most zones you just need shooters out there. What ends up happening is people that are bad at man defense play zone because limits the amount of points you score against them. Mostly because zone makes you a jump shooting team.

Man Defense if you know how to play it well is much better than zone. You could shut down the opponent instead of just limiting them.

Just some friendly advice. Playing in broadcast will help you make the crisp passes needed to beat zones more easy as you can see the whole court. Also total control your shooters to the holes.

Not for me. I play in the broadcast view and passes are still bad and its still difficult to get shots off if your going up against someone that really knows how to exploit the 1 3 1.

It seems that way, however if they are playing zone, it is likely their defensive skills suck and that they just run around with an off ball defender spamming block. You have to ignore the hand flailing at you and let it fly, ecspecially if its a good shooter. If your release is on point. which is easy to accomplish on broadcast view. you'll J him every time. The only problem is unless you mastered angles perfectly your on ball defense will take a hit in broadcast view. The problem is most people that play on ball defense take bad angles that they can recover from in 2k view, so when they switch to broadcast view they get blown by everytime. But its the only way to have the twitch pass instincts to beat the zone because you will the the whole court and your perfect release will counter these zone scrubs that just run around spamming block like mindless idiots.

man I refuse to play 1vs1 for any longer than 2-3 games. not tryin to play college hoops 2k14 with all these zone users.

it's pretty simple: people use this tactic because it works and it works better than real life physics would allow. If an unsim tactic is being used 95% of the time in games you play online, it's a pretty safe bet that that tactic is overeffective. Notice I didn't say 'sim tactic. If a sim tactic is working -- well it should work, because that's realistic. But if something that NBA teams rarely employ, is having this much success, it's effectiveness is obviously disproportionate. There should be things in place to discourage zone, instead of encouraging it by it being so effective. Basically, I'd be happy if they overcompensated the weakness just so that weak ballers who use zone aren't bailed out by their cheesiness
