Re: Poll: Reach in fouls rate
I think it's fine online. I really don't understand why this had to be patched. It was a online problem, so I don't understand why 2k couldn't just adjust the sliders or increase the difficulty. But whatever.
I've never been a "reacher" so it hasn't effected my career experience. But I have noticed that since the patch a lot of players online are adjusting and playing off ball defense. One of the advantages of being on the PS3 is you know the exact player being controlled off the ball on defense.Comment

Re: Poll: Reach in fouls rate
Man the reach in fouls are crazy now that the patch came back its good to see people hardly reach online now but in my career i swipe once because i have pick pocket and its a foul it gets very frustrating thats why now when i play my career i dont even think of pressing the steal button. I think it really needs to be lowered.Comment

Re: Poll: Reach in fouls rate
I understand why some people like the new patch as some of us were abusing the swipe steal system. But now it is just impossible to get a steal by stripping the ball off your opponent. In Myplayer career mode, as a #1 draft pick PG for the Hornets, I have 95 steal attribute and pickpocket level 3, but I keep getting reach-in fouls every time I strip the ball of my opponent. Even against poor ball handlers. Example in my last game against Phoenix, I got reach in fouls for stripping the from Marcin Gortat and Markieff Morris. With the new patch the Pickpocket Signature Skill is USELESS!! All I'm saying is; 2K needs to find a middle ground/balance between the easy steals before the patch and the ridiculous amount of reach-in fouls after the patch.Comment

Re: Poll: Reach in fouls rate
Well that's on you. In no way is that kind of defense realistic. IRL, you can't just make players take a step back whenever you want to, when they are bringing up the ball, ON EVERY SINGLE POSSESSION. Play with your feet, not your hands, and that GOES FOR THE REST of you "yes, it's too much" people.Originally posted by Dogslax41Most people that are asking for a simulation game don’t really want a simulation game because its too hard.Comment

Re: Poll: Reach in fouls rate
I don't care what the online dudes say...
In MyCAREER, a foul should NOT be called e.v.e.r.y. s.i.n.g.l.e. time I reach. There are legitimate times to go for the ball. I don't ever play NBA 2K online so I was not affected by the spam stealing.
I'm an offline-exclusive player and now my game is screwed-up because there are no sliders in the mode I play. I suggest 2K put out two discs of future NBA games Disc 1: (offline MyPLAYER/MyCAREER) and Disc 2: (Every-other-game-mode).
Patch 1.02 has caused me to not be able to go for a legitimate steal when one presents itself. I guess it is what it is.Last edited by SLOYAROLE; 12-03-2012, 08:04 PM.Comment

Re: Poll: Reach in fouls rate
Damn. My crib must be tapped by the NSA. Dude found out about my duct-tape-down-the-steal-button-cheese-glitch that I use. I've never gotten more than 3 fouls in any MyCAREER game. I've got about 13 steals through 50 games. Patch 1.02 has given me a foul on every steal attempt. Get off the horse bro. Everyone who presses the steal button is not a hack. In fact, when used properly, it's very effective. This is why I don't play online. Dudes thinking their way is the only way. Please... Sad thing is, us offline dudes probably got better game than any online scrub crying about the steal spam.

Re: Poll: Reach in fouls rate
Instead of increasing the reach in fouls or allowing for lots of on ball steals just make the ball handler simply protect the ball..
I absolutely hate when a guard stands at the top of the key dribbling with his right hand completely unprotected and I can press steal 10 times with my guy reaching nowhere even close to the hand the ball is in..
After about 10 steal attempts a foul is called.. I'm sorry but if a player is too stupid to keep the ball always from the defender it should be stolen.. Just fix it to where players protect the ball and create separation and you won't have the stupid reach in foul being called too often or not often enough..
Problem solved
In the video game you don't control where or how the defender's steal is attempted, you are at the mercy of the game to decide whether or not you are "reaching in."
Neither option is very optimal, but I rather have the onus placed on the offensive player to not be a moron and stand there and allow the ball to be plucked away. Taking away a defensive option completely is definitely not my preferred choice.
And yeah I only play offline, but sliders can't be used in MyCareer mode.Comment
