Can someone verify this?
in franchise you cannot change sides with the controller in the game menu or anywhere else that i can see, and you can only control one team in the association. Therefore, i dont see a way to change CPU timeouts to auto in franchise.

    perhaps there is another way

Yeah, I agree that this is something that they should not have missed, which makes me believe the game wasn't tested at all, or very little at the least. This flaw is clearly evident once you find yourself in a tight game, or even when you go on a big run in a game.

But at least we can have some of the drama of a tight game by making these changes to the cpu team in quick play. I know, it still doesn't make up for the boneheaded mistake made by Sega/VC.

                        Again, ouch.

The lack of the CPU calling late game timeouts just takes away so much excitement from close games.. I can see a blowout being boring, but if its a 3 point game and you know the CPU won't be calling timeouts, it kind of kills the moment..

And I just don't know how they missed this. Even if the testers didn't play in any close games late, don't you think they would have noticed that the CPU wasn't calling any timeouts, ever?

Apparently not, but that makes me wonder all kinds of things about how much this game was tested, and if it was in fact tested, if they opted to not fix it.. And if that's the case, why? It's such a simple issue, but one that is so out of our hands at this point. What they could likely fix in 5 minutes, we can't change at all, at least for franchise play.

Nope, you can't change sides. Just tried it. Stinks that something like this slipped by them. And also, why on All-Star and Superstar settings, they FORCE it into the paint. No matter how good of defense I play, they always seem to force it in.
