Magicuser, this is an example of what would happen:

The best way to test this is to use evenly matched teams, and set the minutes to say,...5 or less per qtr. If you go on a run you should see the cpu call timeout.

So apparently changing the cpu settings to auto DOES WORK!

the saddest part is that the code is in the game, but there is no way to enable it in franchise mode. i'm not a computer programmer, but simply having the default timeout setting to "auto" instead of "manual" seems like an easy fix and one the QA testers deinitely should have caught.

Alright Neo even though I accused you of working for EA, I have to agree with you on this one. There is no logical way that you let something like this slide in a basketball game. Timeouts at end of the game situations is the magic of any basketball game, just think about the playoffs last year. Even worse think of the playoffs in your franchises if the games are close and the computer won't take time outs at the end of very close games or last winning shot situations, it robs you of a great ending and extreme fun. I honestly can't believe VC released the game that way. I can see how this could be a deal breaker to a lot of gamers.

Huh? Since when did you accuse me of working for EA? And I don't. I'm just an honest gamer that doesn't let flash get in the way of substance. The flaws are readily apparent. I just wish I followed my own advice and stayed away from this franchise. But this year has really soured me on the whole thing.

I said that there would be a huge backlash last year after people realized how bad last year's game was... I was right. I'm saying it again this year, unfortunately... and I will be right again. It's pretty arrogant for me to say such a thing, I know, but this flaw is too big to let go of.

Ok everybody. Just calm down. I'm just as upset as the next man but lets just stop for a second, take a deep breath and ease up a lil bit.

I really wanna enjoy this game so I know I will try to find a solution. Anything. Artificial or in game. As of now, I'm thinking about keeping a few TOs for the cpu late in the game and call it for them at the proper times. Its bad that we gotta go through this but I also think a patch is out of the question. Maybe, maybe not.

But instead of everyone flippin out, lets just put our heads together and firgure out some sort of solution to this problem. This is defitnitly a flaw from Sega but our money is already spent, the devs are probably all on vacation right now and the head of the company has his eyes and ears peeled for sales figures. Not consumer complaints.

I'm willing to do anything to make it enjoyable because even though this is a huge flaw, the game is still playable. Its no diffrent than the late game AI in Madden this year. Its bad but its still playable.

Now that everyone had voiced they're disgust for this bug, lets find a remedy. Pllllleeeeeaaassseee.

Like someone mention earlier, maybe you could save the setting that you change in quick game mode and when you start a franchise, the CPU team would have their TO already set auto. Did anyone try this?

Another solution is get a gameshark or enhancer and input a code to get unlimited TO so you could use the extra ones for the CPU late in the game. Pretty much all basketball games has the unlimited timeout codes.

Yeah Graphik, you are right. I mean the game is really good and I will continue to play it. So I am all ears for anyone that can come up with a can of Raid for this bug. But VC still needs to know we will not accept this for college basketball, that is my favorite game, so let's get in their arses now so they don't screw up that one.

This is awful. I was going to buy the game today but now I dont think I will. We should contact ESPN in mass so maybe they do something. This is a HUGE flaw. I dont see how they can not fix this.

Good luck trying. I don't think Visual Concepts cares, and as a result, I don't care if they sink or swim. I'm done with their games and I'll just hope that another company comes in to take their place and does it the right way. High Voltage was that kind of company to do things right, but they left the b-ball market unfortunately.
