    This is strictly just my opinion. This is how I personally feel rewards should be for the Rivals event:

    • Top 1-25: Rivals event card from winning team
    • Top 26-40: A low end legendary, where the legendary pro version is competitive with the rivals event card but not extremely superior to it stat-wise. This prevents players from tanking to get a legendary for a dupe instead of the rivals event card. If I knew I would get a Dwyane Wade legendary I would take that over a rivals event Lebron card because the pro Wade version would be more valuable. It would have to be a lower end legendary.
    • Top 41-75: Two different epic cards
    • Top 76-300: One epic card from the winning team.

    Etc etc. This takes out a large portion of the luck, and the rewards seem reasonable enough that the grind wouldn't seem to amount to nothing. I personally didn't think the top 100 rewards needed as much changing as the middle tiers, so even my opinion on new rewards seems a bit generous. It would be a different story if events weren't often, but we're getting them every other week.

      Exactly. For example, I'm in Spain (+6 to EST), and I usually start seasons at 7pm (or 1pm EST) because it makes the Playoffs start at around 5am, which gives me time to get up at 7 to go to work and, if I've lost the first two games in the first round, still make a comeback.

        Too rewarding in my opinion, I know it looks appealing but it wouldn't be right. Drafting a legendary is so rare so if there's an opportunity to sacrifice time to get a rivals clash, it should be tough and available to those who actually play. I didn't win rivals since I didn't have time, but I'm not upset at the game at all. top 50 had to put in a lot of time from their life to win it so I think it should stay the same. Winning big rewards ain't meant to be easy.

          I agree I think it's too rewarding also. I didn't find anything wrong with the previous rewards for the top 100 except for the luck from packs, but it sounds like they're going to be expanding rewards quite a bit and giving out legendarys also. In that case this is just a personal suggestion on how to expand rewards if they really are planning on it. Otherwise I liked the old system because we still had a chance for good rewards from the draft picks compiled during the event

              It takes little effort to be in top 1000, lol no way epic should be rewarded. I like the 1 seed reward though, that's a really good idea.

                  I'm glad they're tweaking the rewards. I finished something like 220, which really when you look at the sheer amount of people playing isn't bad at all. If I hadn't drafted my MJ Legend card, Bledsoe Epic, and Lambeer Epic I wouldn't have come away with much. My prize was two Elgin Baylor Rare cards. So a little better reward would be nice to see.

                    I agree with mfresh, I really like the idea of the top 1 person getting a rivals card + a previous rivals card. It'd be like getting 2 overpowered legendary cards in one event, but I don't believe there should be pro versions of rivals cards. That could basically bring up other problems, and make regular legendarys cards worthless. The sales of epic packs would drastically go down as well.

                    I'm not sure about the rest though, because you have to keep in mind these events are every other week. That would be saturating the userbase with 50 rivalry/legendary cards every other week and ultimately destroy the value of epics completely. If epics become completely worthless, then it destroys season mode because that's the only reason to do it.

                    Edit: It's kind of like how the real economy works. We work for American dollars. We pressure the goverment to keep the value of dollars consistent. If tomorrow they told us that they messed up and the value of our dollar dropped by 50%, then we would all be furious. It would mean everything we saved lost 50% value and it would make us doubt chasing the currency in the future if there's a pattern of value losses in our assets. In real life this would be an economic breakdown.

                    The economy within a game is no different. If the value of our cards gets destroyed, then what was the point of trying to obtain the cards in the first place?

                        The majority of people who get a single epic won't have actually made any "progress". The area where most people get stuck is making epic pros. Handing out single epics is not that big a deal imo. Think about eyegotsoul. I think he had like 40 epics total some from season a few epic packs and 40k wins. He has like 4 pros. Everyone in this forum complains that single epics are useless. Plus as you say it is every 2 weeks. If you manage to make top 1000 for 10 straight events, that's like 5 months were you gained 10 epics which may give you like 1 pro maybe on average. What they lose in epic packs they might make up in hot streaks. And that's not even a guarantee since most people buy epic packs for the legendary chance not for epics. Epic pros are mostly competitive with legends so they don't lose that much value that quick. Finally, remember there is something nwgamedad said on page 817 in his update. They are working on seaskn matchmaking. Assuming they make good on it, a "flood" is relative.

                          Fair argument, but my main point in all this is that they have to be very careful on how they expand rewards. A lot of decisions early in the game factored into the downfall of the value of rares and rare pros.

                          It's not so much the amount of epics handed out, it's about the number of legendarys that could be handed out. Because the value of epics is tied to how common legendarys become

                            If I understand NWGameDad's post correctly, the part I liked best was defined rewards. Have a worthless Pau Epic? Maybe play to 3rd or 4th tier to Pro him! Need a second Rare Sessions to fill your catalog? Aim for the 6th tier. Makes things a little more strategic for those of us who will never crack the top 100.

                            As always, NWGameDad, I appreciate the info and the effort. I was in the "packs purchased lowers Epic/Legendary drop rate" camp based on my own experience. Thanks for telling me I was wrong.
