I'd like to play someone with a full Memphis Grizzlies team regardless of stats. Ive played 600 games now ive had 3 Jarryd Bayless, 3 Mike Millers, the Tony Allen i was given when i started and what seems like 89 Keyon Doolings. That's a ridiculous disparity but i just won a finals 4-1 against a guy with nearly 1000 pts better than me in 2 of the 4 categories. We both kept our guys at full energy every game. Anything is possible.PSN: BigHermComment

As I said before, the rewards and rankings have been drastically changed based on the feedback from last week's event. We will be giving away nothing less than a Rare, and Epics and Legendary cards will be given away as rewards in much lower tiers than before. We of course will have special Rivals Clash cards available for the higher tiers too, but even those we are giving away more than last time. We are also giving away a special reward for the #1 player this time. EyeGotSoul may have some competition. ;-) Finally, none of the rewards will be random. There will be no packs given away this time. The rewards will all be fixed and displayed at the start of the event. You'll know exactly what you'll get from each tier.

I know certain changes were mandatory. For example, how the 4k-9k reward shouldn't be better than the 300-4k reward. And also taking out packs and replacing them with a guaranteed card. But the rest of the changes seem a bit head-scratching. The popular opinion of any userbase will always be to expand reward so everyone has a higher chance of getting a good item. But I'm going to quote a post I made right before the first rivals event.
NW, is there any concern about oversaturating the userbase with good cards? Let me remind you of how the game economy went since the release of the game:
- Rares were reveered, getting top 2 in the season was a big deal.
- With good cards being passed out every 4 days, rares slowly became obsolete and now most users would rather lose in the first round instead of placing 2nd place in a season. Because rares are almost useless now due to oversaturation, and epics are slowly heading the same way. A lot of us don't use any of the epics we get anymore, unless to train.
Now, this is the current situation. Every week in a new rivalry event, 20 people will be getting an amazing card (which is great), and the next tier is going to a free epic pack (with a good chance of a legendary card). So now this is how things will go 2 months from now:
- Epics will become obsolete. Can get them by placing atleast 4th tier, or through season mode, or through draft.
- Decks will become oversaturated with good cards. Besides the amazing new 20 cards per week, there will also be a ton more legendaries in decks because of the tier 2 rewards every week.
- Those tier 2 $20 packs will soon become more valuable than the tier 1 rewards. It'll be the same reason why people would rather tank in the first round of season instead of 2nd place in the finals. Rivalry clash cards will be great for a while, until people start getting Oscars/MJs/Lebrons/Bird Legendaries and realize they would rather take the chance on a $20 epic pack in tier 2, instead of tier 1 for rivalry clash card. Because soon enough people with more legendaries in decks, everyone is going to want their dupe for a legendary pro.
I'm not proposing any solution or anything, but I hope all this is being considered when introducing new rewards. I know many are very happy, but the oversaturation of legendary cards in the game economy needs to be closely monitored
The reason I bring this up again is because I still feel this is an important issue if rewards are greatly buffed up. A small change now could always have long term ramifications on the game's card economy. This may be an unpopular thought, but expanding rivals card tiers and giving out a guaranteed legendary in lower tiers is going to be flooding the economy with too many elite cards isn't it? It would be more fitting if this was once a month event, but this will be drastically changing decks every other week.
This will ultimately lead to three things: (sorry to sound like a broken record repeating the same concerns)
-The complete downgrade of epic cards. The way rares are useless now, soon enough the value of an epic will follow the same path. (And from a business standpoint, this will hurt the sales of epic packs)
-Devalue of legendary cards. People chase the rarest form of cards. This will ultimately pressure devs to create new cards or even more powerful cards continuously to keep interest level high. No one wants their 'carrot on a stick' to be something that becomes too common.
-I know it was stated that there won't be any pro versions of these rivals clash cards, which is why after the first few events I'm almost certain people will try to make sure they land in the legendary tier instead of the rivals card tier. If legendary cards do become more common, again people will be more concerned about trying to make a pro out of their legendary instead of a rivals card that can't be pro'd and inferior stat wise. I know personally if the legendary reward is a card I'd need to make a pro version, I may just aim for those tiers instead of trying to get another rivarly card.
I'm sure the dev team is extremely intelligent and has thought about all of these things before making their decisions. But again, I just had to reiterate how important of an issue this could be in the long term. I'm happy the rewards are being revamped but it seems its mostly about expanding tiers and giving out a lot of guaranteed elite cards.

I think u r overstimating how good the next rewards will be.
If anything i have learned so far from
Gamedads posts is that he exxagurates a lot of stuff .
The next rewards will be just slightly expanded just wait and see.
And u cant devalue legends when they r available for purchase.
Plus we need more people to have better teams
So players like me can finally have some competition in the season and matchmaking has more options to pair the right group of people together.Comment

Personally I'd be happy because I'd love to get more legendary cards and elite cards, but if I'm being objective and looking at wanting the game to succeed then I do worry that they don't make it too easy. Lol, it's allllll about the chase ;pComment
