Very nice to see a game where the CPU defenders don't miraculously race over there like their turbo charged and get in the shooters face.

The spacing in this game is the best it's been in a LIVE game ever by a long way.

I'd go as far as to say it's the best spacing i've seen in an NBA game. You and the CPU can use the corner pockets and really stretch out the D.

The 'reactionary' side of the AI is good also...if the CPU has a fast break and I take my defenders and plant them under the basket, I've seen CPU players like Cassell and Mobley stop at the top of the key, get set, and take the 3 ball on offer. Nice.
I'm glad U like the game, I read everthing U post about it, and U are pretty much was dead on with Ur impressions!! Especially with the Cam views not catching up the players on the court & not having the Manual Replay is very annoying!!! But the game still got me and I glad I'm not the only one having Fun with NBA Live360!! Enjoy!!!

Playmakers man when are you getting the 360? I'm starting to not feel 2K6's game again because it is playing too much like the old system game after awhile. I tried Live on launch day and can't seem to get it up to speed like the current system game was after your sliders. I'm not good at messing with stuff and this game has some potential if I knew what too mess me. It's definetly very good as you said for two player but I like playing alone during the week. Do you have any suggestions what to tweak right now.

Just a heads up for those that don't have live yet. Gamestop and Eb are doing a buy 2 get 1 free on their used 360 games. I just got back from taking advantage of this deal. I got Madden, Live, and brace yourself Call of Duty. So if you are on the fence about live and have 2 games that you want. you can get live for free. Hope that helps.

            Re: It's not that bad

monk, buddy, you have me ready to play this game now. The part about swinging the ball around for the open J really has me excited. If we can get some good playbooks, team styles right, then we may have a decent game. Of course this is all premature from my point of view, because I haven't played it yet.

Would someone mind making these CAP's, and tell me if they look like their real life counterpart, and how they look "in game" compared to the other players?

                  Re: It's not that bad

Some more points : good and bad.

                  - Good: teams seem to play realistically. I played a half v the Spurs and they went to Duncan over and over. Parker and Manu, especially, put the ball on the floor and penetrated. When the ball went in to Duncan, they spread the court really well. Nice. Played Utah one quarter and they pick and rolled repeatedly.

                  - Atmosphere...again...is amazing. Get blown out at home and there's hardly any noise. Go on a run at home and the crowd goes insane. The chorus of "threeeeeeeeee" at home is nice when you let one go from deep

                  - Spacing is excellent. You really can pass it around.

Not sure whether the next thing belongs in good or bad - some people will think it's good / some bad

                  - You HAVE to call plays. If you don't your team mates hardly move around much at all. Just the standard "post up" inside and guards doing that 'push off' motion. Hardly any other movement at all. You MUST call plays to get them moving. I find using turbo on my PG while calling plays for the SG and SF creates good movement. I can hit them for open J's, cuts, etc. I like this. I'm calling lots of plays. Some people will hate it though.

                  - The dunks are the best i've ever seen by a mile.

                  - Putting the ball on the floor and attacking the basket is great fun with guys who can penetrate. It's possible to blow past a defender with guys like LBJ , Darius Miles (who I was using) and other athletice swing men. You can't blow past defenders without these type of players.

                  - Big men blocks inside look great.

                  - Rebounding is the best ever in a LIVE series. You still see some balls hit the flloor though. It does feel more like a contest though. I got some nice ORB with Danny Fortson and the animations looked really cool.

                  BAD

                  - You know the blocking problem of LIVE 05? Guess what...it's back

Peja with 3 blocks on me in 5 mins...Jimmy Jackson etc with heaps.

This seems entirely due to the time you release your J...and isn't such a problem using the press or sideline cameras.

I'm trying to get a balance in the sliders where this is not a factor...but bigs still get their blocks. Playmakers?

                  - Bad if you have a NON HD TV like me = the menus are tiny.

And I mean T I N Y. I've been avoiding the sliders too much and CAP's due to this.

I can barley read them...and it's seriously giving me a headache trying to. We are talking very, very small text on my TV (68 CM SONY).

                  - No matter what you do, you still feel like this is an unfinished / rushed game.

                  - Finally, the game is too slow / players move too slow. Even at 100, the movement just feels too slow.

Example, I can a play where my SG (Ray Allen) cuts to the hoop and then turns and goes back to the 3 pt line. You'd expect to see him spring there, right?

Well, he sort of slowly moves inside, slowly turns and slowly moves to the 3 pt arc.

I have adjusted to this and can live with it...at least in this version (unlike LIVE 05) there is a nice catch and shoot animation, so I can still call that play...have Ray go inside and out...hit him and take the shot / get the assist etc. It's just done VERY slowly.

That's as fair as I can be. There's lots of good things IMO and I'm enjoying it a lot more than I thought I would. It's let down by all the bad things though and most people will dislike it for those reasons.

I'm going to play a season and enjoy it...still deciding which team I use. I've narrowed it down to the Sonics, Blazers (damm hard to score with them though), Knicks ( a season at MSG ) or maybe even the Clippers.

Dont forget to mention the Post up game. IT RULES!!

I love backing people down then letting go of the stick and rolling out.

But man this game on superstar is hard as a #$@##@!!!

I had to turn down cpu 3's they were hitting them like crazy.

Atmosphere is untouched by any sports game.

No crappy loops of the same annoying fake crowd noise,it sounds like your there, and they respond accordingly.
If your down by 20 and you hit a 3 or get a great dunk they wont go crazy, why? because your down by 20!! thats just too cool.

Great impressions monk and knicks. You all have me anticipating this game's arrival. Should be here by Wednesday. I may pick it up at Wal Mart tomorrow, and take the unopened one back when it gets here. Sounds like a deal to me.

Hopefully my TV (also Non HD) will be good enough for me to work on CAP's w/. That's teh only reason I got this game. I'm sure it'll be fine though.

Thanks again for the impressions. I'll try to help find a good slider set when I get the game. One more thing, Monk, can you save team playbooks? If so, that'll ensure the teams play specific. Of course if they were going to TD, then it should be alright anyway.

Not a big deal...just an example that this game looks like they got to a certain point of working on it and then someone came in the office and shouted "tools down, game ships".
Not to be a stickler but I think Kidd stopped doing this last year because his son started imitating him during REC games and people were getting pissed.

Will, teams already have specific play books.

Essentially, every team has the same plays available...the standard ones, post / picks / utah / secondary break / zone breakers / triangle etc etc. There's a lot of plays.

However...if you flick through the teams, you'll see that EA have already assigned certain one's of these to particular teams.

                            So...they are already saved.

You can change these and save them if you want though.

Flicking through some teams...they all have 6 plays available from the controller which you can change etc. Of these 6, all teams have the standard ones (pick and roll, post up etc) and some team specific ones. Ie, Jersey have a motion play assigned / LA has a triangle play assigned. Can't remember off the top of my head...but they definitely already have different plays chosen / different play books.

These are not as specific as 2K...ie, 'rip iso'...but they are there and quite a lot of them to chose from.

There's lots of plays, for example, that I can chose to get my SG and SF to cut to the three point line / go to the 3 point pockets when I'm using the Sonics.

You absolutely have to call these plays yourself though...

The more I play this, the more I am enjoying it.

After 2 hours with it I must admot to thinking "why the hell did I waste my money". After a dozen or so hours, I'm enjoying it and it's growing on me

Anyone who gets it, give it a bit of time / edit sliders etc...as I'm almost certain no one will like it much out of the box. (Apart from the first 10 minute 'wow' factor)

                              OIC...that explains it.

I did think it was strange as there's tonnes of player specific free throw routines in here. When I saw Danny Fortson had his own, I was thinking why the hell they left out Kidds

                                Had to add this...!

I am playing Detroit...Ben Wallace got the offensive rebound, there was a crowd under the basket, he turned and passed OUT to Tayshaun Prince at the 3 point line...who steadied...and nailed the three ball...

Next Detroit possession...they went in to Sheed. I doubled teamed him...and he passed out of it to Prince again for the open 3 ball (this time from the other wing) and he nailed the 3 ball. Never seen a game pass out like that so well before...

                                Very, very cool !

                                The Palace went crazy.

Billups has been taking those pull up 3 point J's all game also...

Not much sign of Rip so far...though i've got him on tight d / doubling when he gets it.

They've gone inside to Sheed a lot...Ben just rebounding and put backs.

I am starting to love this game.

Looked great seeing Prince take those 3 balls with his sig J also...
