i still tihnk there need to be more defensive animations that show youre either playing correct defense, or not.

like i mentioned it would be cool to know the timing window to contest a shot when i see my defender putting a hand in the shooters face, as opposed to jumping up with both arms raised.

This, I will give 2k all of the props until the cows come home. 2k's game animates beautifully.

Live's animations are much more basic, but from my point of view, they work and are controlled.

For all of 2k's beauty when it is in motion, I just cannot ignore all of the things that are going on under the hood that drive me crazy.

I forgave it in 2k8, and I just...cant...put up with it again this year. I tried, and I just cant do it. Especially when there is another alternative that I am really enjoying.

pressing a layup\dunk button one feet inside a 3point line just to see a dunk or layup unfold isn't necessarily called having full control of your player

2k has way better graphics... better animations... better dynasty mode... but I've struggled since the game launched to get it to play like NBA basketball. It's as if the developers have never even seen NBA basketball.

Then a few days ago I picked up Live... and low and behold I find that I can work the ball around for an open jumper just like in the NBA! Imagine that!

Live has flaws... but I understand this is the first year in a rebuild of the game... in the next year or two the game should be unreal. I doubt I'll ever buy another 2k game again.

IMO, I keep going back to 2k because it looks as though I am watching a real game. I'm controlling Kobe as he does his thing. I can see the off the ball movement of Rip as he fights to get open. The more I played that game I saw everything that you see in a real game. Even though it has it's flaws it still looked as if I was watching a real TNT broadcast.

And with Live, I feel as if I'm playing a real game. The post ups, the pick n pops, pick n rolls. I feel as though I playing the game the way it's supposed to be played. Calling the plays as running the the triangle offense with Kobe as he gets double in the post. I feel the double coming and try to go baseline to hit Fisher in the opposite corner. Bang I feel as though I made that happen.

IMHO, that's the difference with the game. In 2K I see the things happen and I press a button and it is pulled of so life like making my girl question what see was watching. A game or a video game. In Live I feel like I am doing all the right things. Maybe not so annimated but, still fundamentally correct.

That to me is the difference between both games and why I keep playing Live. I would rather feel as though I am making the correct moves and doing everything correct to win.

Some people my play 2K because they would rather play a video that looks like a real game. Which is fine, that's why I keep going back to it.

Either way, IMO for my personal enjoyment I have the best of both worlds.

Excellent post man! Just imagine Lives feel of playing the game with the reallife animations of 2K.

I just bought this game last week, and far as the simmed games go they are very realistic. (I am using L4D's sliders by the way.)

I am unsure as to what was going on in my mind but I totally made no sense in my post.

What I am curious about is how are the sim results in the seasons of dynasty? For example, does Dwight Howard lead in rebounds and blocks, LeBron or Kobe in scoring, Chris Paul in assists and steals, and those kinds of things? Do the stats at the end of the season fall into line with what you would expect in real life?
