Re: The patch - what's been confirmed?
I'm thinking we should just make our own list of all the main glitches and bugs with videos/screens taken directly from the game, compiled all in one post. That bugs and glitches thread up right now is just a mess, and I'm not even sure it's being looked at. If we can get this all neat and tidy, it'll be easier for EA to see what our main complaints are.Comment

Re: The patch - what's been confirmed?
The problems with the AI and fastbreaks stems from the fact that the CPU is so programmed to run plays and execute, execute, execute instead of reading and reacting all that much IMO. I feel like if it isn't a "whatever on zero" fast break then the CPU will not attack the rim in transition, but will shoot a decent amount of threes.
I really noticed this last year with NCAA '09, you could leave the paint wide open (manually move a defender out) and the CPU would still run there play like they were practicing 5-on-zero. And that was with the tempo feature in NCAA '09, which worked pretty well."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Re: The patch - what's been confirmed?
played a game earlier today where the cpu grabbed the off. rebound and twice, reset and ran a play. you dont see it often, but they do it. once, VCarter grabbed the off. board and dribbled back out to the 3pt line to reset, then the other one they grabbed the board and kicked it out for a 3. so the cpu does reset, just not that much.Comment

Re: The patch - what's been confirmed?
This went from what's been confirmed in the patch to a complaint thread. I'm glad the agility looks likes it's going to be addressed. Especially with the bigs. I swear I don't see all of the out of bounds stuff. Are your players going out of bounds? Are you lead passing them out of bounds? And while the cpu doesn't fastbreak and get to the basket they certainly pass the ball up court quickly for jumpers and if you switch and end up out of position they'll blow by you and get to the rim. I can fastbreak and secondary break just fine. I had 20 fastbreak points vs the Bulls with the Clippers tonight.
This game is very good. Who cares if they say Live is back? I mean really.Comment

Re: The patch - what's been confirmed?
Unless I get steal at the top of the 3pt line, I cant get a fastbreak.
Maybe with certain sliders it's different, but I only play online (so default allstar sliders) fastbreaks a few and really far between.Comment

Re: The patch - what's been confirmed?
I get them off of misses all the time. Especially when I force a guard into a bad shot. I contest the shot and keep running up the floor. Icon pass. Boom. Also, if you see a player drive and fall down as they often do, you have an advantage. Use it. Freestyle pass up the floor a couple passes and you end up with a 3 on 2.Comment

Re: The patch - what's been confirmed?
I don't mean to come across as harsh mate...I am posting this with a smile on my face and drinking a nice coffee on a beautiful day, so all is good
But...facts are facts and IMO people have gone very, very lightly on this game this year.
The other game is getting torn apart for every.small.detail.that is missing.
Meanwhile, it's like a love fest over here...
I put the game in and see the CPU step out of bounds often, poor rebounding, very little fastbreak awareness, defensive sliding, CPU players shooting into the backboards...and ALL those things were in my copies of LIVE 08, LIVE 09 and now LIVE 10.
I mean, after three seasons...I (***cough***) kind of expected some of those things to be fixed.
I've got a lot of time for Beluba and have supported his stuff since Inside Drive...and Marcus has been very helpful...
But just because those fellas are here and helping...I don't know, it's like everyone is going soft on the game because they don't want to "offend" them IMO.
At the end of the day this is a forum and issues are supposed to discussed, whether they are ones people want to hear or not.
And, as someone who has paid full $ for Live 06...Live 07...Live 08...Live 09 and Live 10...I am kind of dissapointed that a lot of the bugs and flaws dating back five releases are still there.
Some are actually much worse...the CPU players run out of bounds far more often this season + the sliding was far less in LIVE 09. I call a play and my cpu team mate waits for me to pass him the ball with both his feet out of bounds to catch the ball.Live 09 had way less of that.
Again, many aspects have been improved...but I do think it's time the EA fellas produced something legit that fixes all the ongoing issues. Hopefully they shut me up with a killer patch.Comment

Re: The patch - what's been confirmed?
Both games have major complaints about core gameplay in their respective forums. As far as THIS game goes, a lot of complaints have been answered with either "will be in the patch" or "sorry, that won't be in until next year". Once someone answers regarding an issue, why would you continue to complain?
I can't speak for anyone else, but when both the community and developers acknowledge that an aspect of a game is weak and needs to be worked on, I'm content to let it go. It's not like there is this groundswell of opposition claiming "the post game is great!" or "the defensive sliding doesn't happen!"
Live has issues, but it is largely a stable game, with recurring and predictable issues. Much of the discourse in here is either about those issues, or figuring out whether certain tendencies are user error or not, like the "scripted results" issue.Comment

I don't want to spoil anyone's fun here...so I haven't mentioned it this season. As you know though, you don't even have to defend 90% of the time on transition D.
You can actually guide your players over to the side of the court, sign an autograph and have a bottle of gatorade...because 90% of the time the CPU isn't going to attack the rim anyway. They are oblivious to what your D is doing.
I haven't wanted to mention a lot of these things because people are enjoying the game. But it has been kind of funny hearing countless "LIVE is a real SIM, it's so tactical this season" type threads.........when you don't even have to play transition D.
These things deserve to be fixed...over to you Mike and Marucs.
And please don't say "Next year fellas!"...because you said that last year
Produce a killer patch and let that do the talkingComment
