It's okay, not as consistent or flexible as I would like. That's why I'm waiting on them to release to tutorial to see if I'm just missing some stuff.Comment

Re: Honest thoughts on the post game
by far the worst post game i've experienced in a game. It is waaaaay to limited. There is only like 4 or 5 moves you can do and thats a shame especially having dwight on the cover.
On a scale from 1-10 live's post game is a 3 at the max. HORRIBLE!!!Comment

Re: Honest thoughts on the post game
Very Basic, really not that much of a learning curve. I like a game where when months down the line I'm still learning new moves, i can learn all of Live's post moves in an hour, lol.... and I still dont understand why i get called for offensive fouls when backing down sometimes.... then I do the same exact thing and then its not a foul the next time down court???
I dont like the animations on the post shots, sometimes players will shoot with the back turn to the basket. I dont like the shot arc trajectory on some of the hooks. Also I wish they had Sig style in the post. Everyone does the same moves and you really cant tell the difference between Shaq and timmy D. Also give me my "y" dropstep button back instead of the easy to access oop
I still havent mastered all the moves yet, but its better now after the patch, especially since i dont get ripped as soon as i make a move. Hopefully next year they will give us a deep post game like the "other" game. And also the ability to pass out of a lay-up/dunk animation.Last edited by Melman; 11-06-2009, 01:58 PM.Yeah so in summation I don't know who you racing I'm already at the finish line with the flag waving, c'mon!Comment

Re: Honest thoughts on the post game
I like being able to put stuff off the glass on-command.. had a really nice quick spin then hook with Melo that I banked perfectly off the glass to avoid the defender. But yeah, it's pretty limited and those random offensive fouls when backing down are annoying because it's impossible to tell when they'll happen. I'm not as down on the post game as most of you are though I guess... I can do what I want on-command most times and though it's limited, you still have the basic arsenal of hooks, fades, spins, and the up and under.. it's enough to get by. Though when compared with 2K's move list, it's apparent that it needs an upgrade for live 2010.Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment

Re: Honest thoughts on the post game
I like the post game.
the thing is, there are no auto animations.
Everything you do needs to be inputted manually.
You can do some pretty nifty stuff.
I have a clip of a nice post up, fake-under, turn and drive, 2 handed dunk on the highlight thread, as well as a post drop step dunk.
You can pretty much do all of the things that you need to do...when it comes to up and unders, hook shots, face up jumpers, drives, or fall aways.
it could be a little more user friendly (Like some friggen instructions or a tutorial for starters), but you arent limited by any means.Comment

Re: Honest thoughts on the post game
I agree with Sage.
The animations themselves are poor. There isn't enough of a difference in different post players. Post game is way behind the perimeter dribbling game, and the perimeter dribbling game still needs more signature style, despite having the best control and back and forth in b-ball history.
Post game, read and react AI, loose ball logic and signature animations should be TOP priorities for gameplay improvements in Live 11.
KDRE, you know what I have to say about the visual aspectComment

Re: Honest thoughts on the post game
Yeah there is no variation amongst players basically... that would be my main gripe with both the post game and the dribble moves. They did a great job with the jumpers, accessories, and player likenesses this year, but other than that, the signature styles are pretty lacking.Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment

Re: Honest thoughts on the post game
I don't know... I'm kinda torn. Yes, Live 10's Post game appears to be limited, however, the basic moves are there, and their effectiveness appears to be ratings based. When you consider the NBA of today, not many teams have a dominiant low post threat that requires a double-team. It seems to me the trend is leaning towards bigs who can space the floor and hit from the perimeter. Pulling bigs out of the paint defensively to clear lanes for Iso's and 2-man games.
I think Utah had 60-something points in the paint last night when they beat the Spurs, but it wasn't from post-ups, it was from drives through the lane, easy lay-ups and second chance buckets. I mean look at Duncan and Garnett, their bread and butter post move is a baseline fade-away jump shot.
What I believe is that based on the style of today's NBA Play coupled with the lack of true dominant post players currently throughout the league, as long as the effectiveness of the post moves available in Live 10, regardless of how limited, remain ratings based, then we should be able to see the separation between dominant and non-dominant post players in Live 10. At this point, and it could be that I am not that good, I do.

Happen to agree wholeheartedly on alot of the posts.. lacking, no variation between players.... GENERIC is what I feel.
When you can't get a successful spin off, it feels like the defender is not stopping the spin as much as he is pinned to your backside like a tail. He spins with with you almost like a merry go round
Im surprised noone said anything about the up and under the CPU does. Its cheesy, it looks fake and cant be defended becuase youre caught in a canned oh shoot kinda animation where you cant even move your man out of the way.
This isnt a comparison thread or one to bash but its pretty poor.
The T Rex fade a way needs to be replacedComment
