Re: Honest thoughts on the post game

    1. It's not intuitive

    2. There's no signature, the same for guards as it is for centers.

    3. There's no strategy as there's no way to guard it and there's no release point to practice with.

It's absolutely lacking and needs to be there next year for Live.

Okay, those are ridiculous..that goes without saying, and I wont argue that but lets not act like those things are common place...in a game thats based on %'s those things are going to happen once in a blue moon.

Heck in the game Im playing now, I had Bosh hit a bail out 22 footer on me, with a perfect contest.

Im almost done with a game now, and ill post some highlights that will show that a drop step is , indeed, possible.

I think what this deabte boils down to is what do you value more?

Are having the mechanics in place good enough? Or do you put more stock in signature style.

I agree that there is no signature flavor. What seperates Duncan from Anderson Varejo, is that Duncan is going to finish the moves better, and with more consistancy...because..well..Duncan is better, as opposed to Duncan can do them, and Varejo cant.

What I do not agree with, is that we are limited with basic..turn left/ turn right..repeat. There is a lot that you can do.

Re: Honest thoughts on the post game

wow, im surprised at the hate fest going on with the post game here. I agree that it is not as "sig" as it maybe could be. But what guys in the league do you guys want doing post moves to do??? It seems like you guys want a bunch of random animations to take place versus having the ability to do it yourselves. Just about anything that should be done in the post can be. I won't say it doesn't seem somewhat generic in nature, but thats basketball. I watched etan thomas go to work the other night as if he were shaq in 2000....

For the record im not hating or bashing the game myself and I stated it.

I just want it to be right. I was seperation, like Sage mentioned and as I showed in video of the mix i made in 09

What happened to the stuff that was already there? Why remove shots that were beautiful from guys like bean, kg, sheed, and then replace it with the T-Rex turnaround?

Why give guys like Bynum the ability to do moves like he's an athletic guard. Fadeaway jumpers?

Birdman backing down Shaq then he can back down anybody... then you try posting up a smaller player and get offensive foul.

The generic feel is what is underwhelming but if you think its cool then I guess so.

Terrible and not enough variations, post game is bland. Not enough movements, switch ups or anything. It just needs more excitement.

I'm use to the right analog button now, but overall it's not good.

some of the things you mentioned are absolutely right, but I see in a different way. thats all. I think there is a distinct difference when I have bynum vs when Im using mbenga. Although the moves are possible, it is very difficult to be consistent with him. I think thats definitely as it should be.

Do we really think that mbenga can't do a dropstep or a hookshot? that he is unable to back down another player?

Again, I AGREE that they should, and probably will improve the animations and add the all important "sig" style. I feel the same in 2k. There are a bit more moves available, but many of them are "triggered" and while that looks good, I had little to do with it's execution. Personally I prefer to do them myself. Why they took out stuff??? it's a mystery and I wish that they had not.

I didnt even mention 2k because i dont care to bring them up.

You're asking me about mbenga vs bynum then there is the bynum vs kobe issue

                            bynum vs birdman

Moves aside of what you saw Duncan do, guards do it too, I just showed you Birdman back down Diesel, so why cant he do it to Dwight or anybody else? The ability shouldnt even be there.

Why is Bynum doing stepbacks on me man? Then pull back fadeaways. Why is Dwight and Shaq pulling off the T Rex fade?

These are issues that shouldnt be even in their arsenal.

This man is on the money. I hate when devs have things that worked and looked good, then the next year they are gone. I can see if your making room to add something else, but what they added was generic mess.

This game captures the overall feel and flow of the NBA(aside from the fastbreaks), but severely lacks the star power and individuality. If they can get the core elements in order, add enough situational animations and sig animations, we'd be in for something special(and for me personally the AI would need to be in order). Still a solid effort this year though, but I'm looking for a standout year.
