That same spink dunk you just did, I can do that with NeNe.Timmy has lots of post moves and im not talking about getting to the rim and dunking, and they arent in this game.

Again, how many drop steps are there? I think I saw an indication that its there but I havent seen anyone do it

Truth of the matter is, its not on par with the perimeter game
I don't think the drop step move is in the game anymore. In fact remember when they had the drop step slider and also player ratings for the move?

Well neither one is in the game anymore...so if drop step is in the game then i would have to assume all players are equal in perfoming the move.

    EA's post game IMO SUCKS!

I know some people might not want to hear the truth but is does suck. Anyone that disagree's play a game with Mehmet Okur a perimeter big man and then use Dwight Howard the next game.

You won't see any difference what so ever....because unlike the sig style of play of perimeter players. Post players have no seperation in their games

Be careful guys what you wish for , you just might get it. Live 10 post game is not the most glamorous but it is serviceable. And I really like it. Offensive fouls come very infrequently so I do not see them as this huge problem. The only thing they could possibly do is maybe clean up the animations and add a few different sig things but do not go overboard with it and turn it into something ridiculous that can not be stopped.

Its generic and not specific to TiMVP
You can\'t do that with anybody though. You can ATTEMPT to do it with anybody, and just like in real life, any NBA player can attempt to do it but how many will be successful? Every center in the NBA can pull that move off in practice in a gym somewhere but in a game most cant get it off.

When you consider the NBA of today, not many teams have a dominiant low post threat that requires a double-team. It seems to me the trend is leaning towards bigs who can space the floor and hit from the perimeter. Pulling bigs out of the paint defensively to clear lanes for Iso\'s and 2-man games.

I think Utah had 60-something points in the paint last night when they beat the Spurs, but it wasn\'t from post-ups, it was from drives through the lane, easy lay-ups and second chance buckets. I mean look at Duncan and Garnett, their bread and butter post move is a baseline fade-away jump shot.

What I believe is that based on the style of today\'s NBA Play coupled with the lack of true dominant post players currently throughout the league, as long as the effectiveness of the post moves available in Live 10, regardless of how limited, remain ratings based, then we should be able to see the separation between dominant and non-dominant post players in Live 10. At this point, and it could be that I am not that good, I do.

      I agree with this

Re: Honest thoughts on the post game

Post game is way, way too limited...and incredibly generic.

It's frustrating to watch a 7 foot CPU stiff play the exact same as Tim Duncan..........and it's even more frustrating watching ALL bigs doing euro steps into the paint.

It's why I can't believe some people have called this "best NBA game ever"...that's a ridiculous thing to say.

It's lacking in way too many areas. You've got a post game that's way more limited than games released 3 years ago.

LIVE is going to be very good in the future though if they ever get the rest of the game to catch up with the perimeter game.

Those are the only 2 highlihts I have up, but I can promise you that you can do, pretty much any type of post move that you would want to do.

Now...does Tim Duncan's drop step look the same as Shaq, Amare's, Dwight's, and Bosh? Yup. No arguement there. But anything you want to do in the post IS there for you to do.

The better big men are able to do them more fluidly and consistantly, and some are quicker and able to face up and go off of the dribble more effectively then others. Heck Ive seen some PFs and C's clank basic up and unders..and other flush 'em. It's not true that all of them can do the same moves with equal effectiveness.

Re: Honest thoughts on the post game

90% of the time it results in a fade away jumper that misses 99% of the time.
The other 10% is some sort of lay up move resulting in a foul and trip to the line.

Re: Honest thoughts on the post game

To me the post game is just like a lot of you guys said generic. There's no sig style to it plus in comparison to 2K10 post game its just plain weak. You can do so much in that game that really separates each player from one another.

In Live everyone is too similar for example I don't really feel like I'm Shaq in the paint b/c there's no power game. Or if I'm playing as Gasol I should be able to execute a lot of finesse moves.

The lack of animations really hurts this area of Live Dirk and Yao can be used in the same way. Dirk for example is a lot quicker and can face up and use his speed to his advantage. While Yao is slow but really takes advantage of his height in Live I don't really feel like I have any of those advantages at all.

All I have is a specific set of moves that just become more/less effective b/c my player is rated a certain way. The players ability to do certain moves isn't really taken into account imo.

I think its been explained enough. I saw an EASW video clip in here with Birdman backing down Shaq and did that same move you just did with Duncan on the 2nd clip

Point it, all of those who can all do the same thing.

Look at the video I posted. Look at the difference between Kobe and KG's fadeaways apart from Dirks. Mentioning them because they are from postup positions.

CV is right on one thing, Big Al eurostepping on you in game is just wrong, and so is Andrew Bynum shooting fadeaways after pulling off a step back dribble move.

Should they even have those moves at their disposal?

Live no longer have drop step as PM's mentioned.. it worked, was nothing wrong with it but its also gone now.

The post game needs some work and its too generic and we're too far into this gen for us to continue to go on with just serviceable important parts of the game.

So true. I really hope they work on the post game and sig moves to really make different players stand out. Not to mention shooting guards and centers sharing animations. It's just not right.

Good vids DRE...and you're right, the post game is pretty bad.

One area the game really lacks is physicality / weight.

See the way the Birdman backed down Shaq there....no physicality at all. It doesn't matter which player is bigger / stronger.

I've driven the lane with a small guard and seen Shaq get completely bowled over...LOL

If the perimiter game is about 4 / 5........the post game is seriously about a 1 / 5 type effort.
