I agree with you. The gameplay itself is very balanced and plays a great game online. But if I am going to play a dynasty game, I am sticking to NBA2k10. I don't know what it is, but it draws me in more.

Yeah, thats pretty much it.

Im hoping they can polish up the core, and add more of a beating heart to the game in '11.

I think what turned me towards 2k in the end is I played a ton of NBA live 10. But once you played enough games, you have seen just about all the animations and some of the "Wow" effect of a reverse layup or two hand slam goes out the window because I have seen it dozens of times.

In 2ks game I see new things all the time and they that seem more "alive".

This is far from a 2k > live thing. I LOVE Live 10 and will hang on to it. But after months with the game u can start to see the simplicity of it to a degree.

Adding a ton more animations and making the contact less "scripted" would make for a much better experience that would last much longer.

I agree......

I play both Live 10 & 2k10 all the time. I still see animations in 2k, even as recently as an online ranked game from last night that I've never seen before and I'm like ...... "Wow, did I just see that". "That's the first time I've seen that before". But when it comes to Live 10, I've been seen everything before.......nothing new since November.

I go back and forth with this game. Sometimes I'll go weeks without touching it and then I'll be unable to put it down for a week. I do agree, though, that the game modes are really lacking. Dynasty has no "life" to it. All the games feel like Exhibition games. Dynamic Season is fun but after a while, that grows a bit stale too.

I think a lot of it has to do with the commentary. Hearing the same lines over and over hurts the game. I play with commentary off now.

I won't get rid of the game but I haven't felt a burning desire to play the game in the past few weeks, either.

Its not the commentary that makes this game stale.

-This is why they needed the allstar game modes. 3pt shootouts were a fav around our house...

-Be nice if they could work in something with the upcoming playoffs and start online lgs with the remaining teams and brackets.

I appreciate what they tried to do. They either succeeded or made positive strides in some areas.

I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt this time around, and see what shapes up for '11.

I wont be as forgiving with Live '11 though.

There were things in '09 that I loved that I was disappointed to not see this time around: Building on the post game, good CPU ball rotation and adjustments, on-court DNA shooting zones, signature ball fakes, fallaway's and stepbacks.

I want to see those things back in the game + a better online league structure and deeper franchise/dynamic season options and presentation.

The 1 to 2 passes & a shot cpu offense is what killed it for me.

I dont remember the game being this bad at release...something happened

That said if all you want to do is run up court and chuck up a jumper or call and play for a jumper you're okay

If you want to do anything inside or play solid defense, forget about it

Soon as something I want comes out this is getting traded in

i just cant trade this or 2k and at this point i hate them both. both are so close to satisfing MY needs but broken in the area i care about the most....

i play live then at half time i pop in 2k then at half time i pop in cod mw2 then off to bed an hour later....

my friend bought live and he is 45 games into his chise in a week, i wish i could just play like he does, he sees the lack of post play and just plays past it

i dont know when i became so picky but i cant get past it, i see a fadeaway and i press eject

I agree, I love Live's gameplay, but I have zero desire to stick with a Franchise... for one simple reason: you have to play 82 games.

I don't understand how a game released in 2009 could fail to offer an option that was in some of the very first Live's.

Believe it or not, not everyone wants to play 82 games just to finish one virtual season. Most of the fun for me is moving from one season to another, the draft, off season moves, etc... I know simming is an option, but I like to play the games myself.

Yep, that hurts. That is one good thing about 2K, they give you options for length of seasons. This also hurts in EA's NHL game but at least in hockey, I can play 9-minute periods and get pretty realistic stats. So, I can usually play 2 games in an hour and can get through a season in a decent amount of time.

In NBA Live, you have to play 10-12 minute quarters to get good stats and that takes about an hour or more for a single game. Trying to play 100-plus games (I'm counting playoffs) is a lot to ask for a single season. I can't imagine people playing multiple years unless they are simming, playing 5-minute quarters or it is the only game they play.

I'd be so happy if there were a 50-game option in both NBA and NHL. I think it should be that way IRL, too. Would make the regular season mean more.
