Yeah, the fact you HAVE to play 82 games just adds insult to injury with the very barebones Dynasty mode. Not to mention the broken sim logic that'll have Lebron avg'ing 18pts 3rebs & 2assts.
But there's so much that gives you the feeling this game wasn't finished, and causes you to lose interest. I wouldn't mind playing an 82 game season if I could hear commentary about a player's production in THAT season, and NOT the same exact star-specific lines in every single game.
Like some have said, by the end of Oct I'd seen every possible animation/scenario Live had to offer. Had PLENTY of "Wow" moments in those first few weeks, but that was about it.
23 is right though, something happened last fall that made this game worse.
The CPU is not dynamic at all. Just knowing that I can leave Ray Allen WIDE OPEN for an ENTIRE posession, yet the Celts will still run a play for a contested J by Pierce, completely ignoring Allen, is a gamebreaker and makes this no longer even playable to me vs the CPU.
Dynamic Season is really cool. But it's good as a secondary feature, to a fully fleshed out Dynasty. Not to minimize it at all, but it is more "Back of the box bullet point feature" or "good for a few one-off games" than "Endless replayability/can't wait to get home to get on this" in my opinion.
The Hangar is a summation of Live this year. It looks cool at first, and trying out the moves and diff players and their forms/dunks is nice for awhile.... but what next? What about a pickup game between Bron, Melo, Wade, Kobe? Maybe rookies vs superstars? A shot contest or dunk-off? Practice mode?!!? ..... Nope. Just shooting around, doing layups/dunks, and watching reruns of Sportscenter.
Like the OP sportyguy & several others here, it's sad but true, Live just couldn't hold my attention this year for all these reasons, and now is most likely headed to Gamestop as part of my trade-in for Battlefield BC2.
